kumnio
Your Political Compass Economic Left/Right: -7.5 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.15 I’ve done that test several times over the years it’s been available, I always get -7ish for the left/right score, but usually between -5 and -6 for the libertarian/authoritarian. That’s my highest score yet 😳.

Good to see I'm a liberal Stalin though They say you get more right wing as you get older as well. I mean , whats not to like about todays reading for Sagittarians : ‘’Oct 31, 2019 - The gentle winds of change are blowing through your life at the moment. You have a feeling of newness and an open attitude toward the world. Some outside events give you the impression that you're advancing in a concrete manner toward a new life. You can expect to have some pleasant surprises.’’ Of course I ‘strongly agreed ’ with it.

Orraloon
Sounds like it serves no serious purpose other than collecting data for advertising purposes. It will just be harvesting stuff from you. Anybody daft enough to even click on the link is probably half way down the road to donating one of your organs. Not that I'm paranoid, like. thplinth
I was and am a bit disappointed I did not get a perfect score i.e. in the utmost top and right corner. I did the whole quiz in a couple of minutes, just picking the most abhorrent answer possible (try it yourself). Amazingly this makes you an authoritarian right winger. Who saw that coming... So not a single negative answer it seems that makes bottom left. Huh. Great test. The SNP should have it on their website.
thplinth
Being a centrist is not trying to literally be in the intellectual middle of every debate. I believe in free markets (as much as they can be) but also that we are smart enough to look after all people at the same time (with ease). The best of the right plus the best or the left that, to me, is centrist.

But if we are trying to get people to consider independence I am not sure a conservative voter, for example , would be impressed with politicians of their party generally being branded ‘odious ‘ or whatever. If these voters identify with the party then we are effectively saying they are odious too. I am pretty sure there will be conservative voters on this forum. It is absolutely right to highlight the deficiencies or hypocrisy of politicians but chucking general insults about really does undermine and detract from the points being raised. On this board I think its just that people get a wee bit passionate sometimes. I agree that in a specifically pro-indy site that is trying to boost independence then there is a responsibility to make voters of all stripes, indy-curious, non voters, non Scots, new Scots, etc all welcome. I think in an open forum where people are arguing individual points of view, it's inevitable that people will offer 'robust' opinions that may be offputting to some. Of course it's not just anti-Tory rhetoric that can be offputting - people on here are quite often lambasting the SNP and SNP voters, Greens, socialists, 'kippers, Brexiteers, voters of all stripes. Maybe a General Election will focus minds on the most important messages and targets. Edited November 1, 2019 by exile

The only way I see that happen is if there is a surge in England for a wish to seek independence.
