And what exactly is 'his base'? And why is he the most loathed US president I'd certainly say of all-time. It certainly ain't for his missionary work  or visionary thinking or innovations whilst in his post.

He won his election and will probably get re-elected, so that’s his base, hard to get objective news on what he’s did or not did as president but he won’t be that different to the guys before him

If the SNP turn into a socialist party they won't get elected in Scotland, IMO. I don't think Scottish voters are any more socialist minded than anywhere else. At present I can't think of anyone anywhere near any position of power that I would describe as a socialist. Even at branch level I never hear anybody talking about socialism. I suppose it might depend on how we define socialism, right enough. I have heard both Salmond and Sturgeon described as lefties and as tartan tories. I don't think that they are either of those.

It might just come down to what we think socialism is? Any SNP policies which you would describe as socialist?

Maybe this is a from a position of ignorance and sketchy knowledge but I’d describe the SNP as a socialist party, they support central planning and then idea of a central bank, appear to love the idea of a nanny state and are more about collectivism rather than individual liberty.

But then most parties are like this so what do I know.

Yes by purely appealing to desperate people. People who are in poverty in the States feeding them false hope about what he is going to do to rebuild the US and there has been no progress on that front. His appeal to many is his promise to stop immigrants getting into the States speaking of them as vermine and this sounds awfully like the sound bytes spouted by Boris Johnson and Nigel Farage hence his connection with them. I am sorry but they are all odious people who I would not piss on if they were on fire.

I don’t think either party has had 3 terms since a president could only run twice so it was almost inevitable that the republicans would win, even with Trump.

His false hope is no different to Obama’s, except packaged differently.

What policies do they have now that you would describe as particularly nationalist? Nationalism is enjoying a renaissance in Europe due to widespread dissatisfaction with the EU and the mad direction it has taken. The SNP are so completely disconnected from this wave of unrest it makes me wonder what they are actually offering. It seems to me they are constantly tacking left of England to appeal to voters rather than selling independence to voters. They do not want to escape England to be independent they want to escape England to be left of England. Independence and what it really entails is not so important it seems. EU membership is like the SNP’s little blue security blanket. They carry it about to make the required leap feel better but really you’d be better off far less reliant on it.

Appeals to his base and annoys the other side. Perfect really.

He is the President of the United States, not a cunt of a footballer trying to wind up the opposition.

Appealing to rednecks, bigots, religious nuts who strangely dont understand religion, jew and muslim haters, isnt something to be proud off.

Jew haters yet is ironically as close to a Zionist a US president there has been.

He obviously appealed enough to a lot of other folk or he wouldn’t have won the election.

Maybe it’s easier for people to think it’s just the deplorable’s that voted for him.

Obama was not loathed and despised though and did not go out of his way to offend.

Sorry but Obama played the race card endlessly his whole presidency. It is what got the useless prick elected, twice. Is it ok when it is non white people doing it?

Obama was loathed and despised, funnily enough by the people who vote for Trump and most of all by Trump himself.

last time I checked he was rated as worst president. An empty suit that race baited his way to success. Trump is the equal and opposite reaction to his pish.

No contest. Trump is the most loathed president in history. End of.

Never said it was a contest. Haha whatever helps you make sense of the world. But I doubt Trump being more loathed is of any comfort to those negatively impacted by Obama and his government.

Can you please enlighten me as to why you think he is loathed so much by so many races, creed and colour across the globe then?

Foreign policy, bailing out the banks with the Bush administration, allowing Wall Street to continue as before, jailing whistleblowers, increasing mass surveillance. Sure there is more.

good video

*not that I think any of this wouldn’t have happened under anyone else

You really think that thick yanks understand what’s going on. They like his attitude towards Israel, yet are proud of being anti-semitic.

I’m sure there are some normal Americans who voted for him, but they are in the minority IMO.

I watched a Fox report about people in Kentucky losing their health coverage, some terminally ill who had to pay thousands per month, but simply couldn’t afford it. I think it was 3 out of 4, but might have been 4 out of 5, who said they still backed Trump and the Republicans. These people are effectively being killed off, but tribalism means they are happy to continue.

I genuinely believe that Americans are idiots. It wouldn’t happen anywhere else in the western world.
