Salmond was one of the few in the HoC who could regularly needle PM Tony Blair at the height of its powers... when that wank could silence most of the opposition by that trademark 'forgive them for they know not what they do' pious cunt shite.... But Salmond had the cunts number and would ring it regularly. Who is even getting close to rattling anyone anywhere by anyone in the SNP? Sure there are some people who deserve to be poor as a result of their own actions just as there are people who deserve to be rich by their own actions. But take that out of the question and all sides of the political spectrum would say the same thing. They just disagree on how best to achieve it. And of course the definition of poverty has been constantly raised as well. I wonder what the poor of a hundred years ago would think of the lives of the poor today and I dare say the 'poor' of hundred years in the future. It has become a purely relative term it seems. I also get the direct impression socialism is now anti rich much more than pro poor. What you seem to want is equality of outcome for us all rather than equality of opportunity for us all. I hope Corbyn and Bernie do get elected, people have forgotten... or rather the younger generations have never experienced it. I do agree with some of this, the majority of people will say they feel the poor should be helped. Problem is words are cheap. I am not sure what socialism is these days, or indeed what I would label myself. I dont expect equality of outcome , I am not anti rich , I believe people who work hard deserve to reap the rewards. But I do have a problem with the obscene sums that is spent on shite when people are homeless or struggling to make ends meet. There are lots of people who work really hard and get nowhere, there is no guarantee that hard work pays off. We then get back to ‘ its not a fair world’ blah blah. I may be looking through rose tinted spectacles but I think people were happier in the days when extreme wealth was restricted to the few and everyone else felt more in it together. Some of the kindest people I know are those who have the least.

I sadly agree. I think Ian Blackford can come across a bit like Mr Bumble and sounds a little arrogant , though I am pretty certain he is a decent guy and well thought of by those who know him . And to be fair Angus Robertson has had a lot more experience in the role. Alex Salmond could get away with being arrogant as he was smarter than most of his adversaries. All that said, I know how hard my local MP works and at the end of the day you should be judged on your results, not just your oratory skills. I cant disagree with that at all, at the last GE the tories were real clever to which constituency they concentrated their efforts to dislodge Whiteford, Robertson, salmond, Angus MP( i forget his name) and a few others who were very astute politicians, to me we lost a backbone, its luck they never go wishart as well, if it were up to me i would throw black, mcneil, wishart at the fore of Westminster, at holrood sturgeon should come out of the limelight and the likes of katie forbes, swinney and fergus ewing take a step forward. Sturgeon is doing my bloody heed in with her stance on brexit, who is advising her, whoever it is needs sacked.

What Mp's are you not impressed with and why ? There's tons more to the job than trying to look slick on a thirty second TV spot or getting in an insult to May at PM questions. The SNP have some excellent MP's like Kirsty Blackman, Stuart C McDonald, Stephen Gethins, Drew Hendry, Carol Monaghan & Patrick Grady. A lot of their work in parliament isn't the kind that you'll ever see or hear about on the six o'clock news.
exile
All I will say for now is, people moaned about the EU asking the question again and again until they got the right answer, but seems Theresa may has asked three times and three times REJECTED and still she threatens to ask for her deal to be approved. I ask Brexit supporters in all honesty isn't this what you hate about the EU? It seems we just can't get rid of her or her rancid 'deal'! exile
Seems to me Parliament is not fit for purpose if May's 'deal' should prevail after such heavy rejection. May's only saving grace is that she is less spineless than Boris and Mogg. IMHO. Edited March 30, 2019 by exile

macy37
I actually sat and watched bbc parliament yesterday for a good long time. My punishment for being off work with man flu......how she is still there is beyond me. You could feel right from the start of the day that no cunt respects her and plenty were just snidely taking the piss out of her. And then there is her own party colleagues. Some brass neck to take this all and continue in her role. I was so confident of the mood I went to look at the odds of a no vote yesterday.....wasn’t worth a penny unless you were laying thousands on it.
