I mean WTF was she thinking.................😡

Yet hardly a whiff of criticism. I am no fan of Shafi but it was quite sad to see so many leaping to Nicola's defence.

I got absolute dug's abuse for posting this pic on FB with the opinion that it wasn't a good idea. Some brands are so utterly toxic that you shouldn't be within a light-year of them and Campbell's is one such brand. There's nothing like the fanatical zeal of the convert though. Sturgeon could do a slow foxtrot round the cemetery with Thatcher's corpse and they'd be rhapsodising over how "oor Nicola's" got the moves. Mention Tommy Sheridan to them though...

I have been there too when I have dared to criticise.

Apparently the elite Brexiteers meeting at Chequers this morning called themselves the "Grand Wizards".

Nothing like hiding your right wing racism in full view, is there.

Bunch of utter cunts who deserve stringing up for the way theyve exploited and screwed over this country.

He is the most despicable of all the Torres by a mile but he is so far up Rupert Murdoch’s arsehole they just keep trying and trying and trying to get him as PM despite having a face you’d be happy to punch all day and the character of a slimy backstabbing cunt. When he gets the job know that it is Blair II minus the charm, smoothness and voter appeal. Micheal chinless prick Gove.

Bella caledonia was real bad for that, i was branded a tory on a few occasions for suggesting we need to attract right of centre voters to achieve indy

We do need to attract centre-right voters to achieve independence. Anyone who doesn't realise that either doesn't understand that consensus building is needed to get over 50% in any election/referendum or they only want independence if it's a socialist utopia, not because they believe Scotland should actually be an independent country.

There is a shit load of this in the SNP judging by on here. It is more a vehicle to socialism for them than to independence where folk might not actually want socialism (oh the horror!). Quite a few on here have stated they would not be interested in independence if it meant Scotland ended up right of center.

It was probably not a deliberate choice of name but it does demonstrate a couple of things.  Firstly the arrogance and conceit in believing that their cabal is so important that they come up with some "sexy" name to describe themselves.  Secondly, a complete lack of awareness of the context of the name and what would be inferred by it.

Reflects pretty badly on Laura Kuensberg that she didn't get it immediately as well.

I can't believe they didn't get the connection. Too many classically educated twats that must have done political studies at Uni.

In 2014 there was too much time and effort spent in the hope that attracting the Labour vote would see us over the line. Every time Sturgeon opened her mouth the words, "No more Tory governments!" came out. Great idea, campaigning by telling 500,000 folk they can all GTF. Where did that leave the efforts of the Wealthy Nation group?

"No more governments that Scotland doesn't vote for," might've been a better idea. I'd hate to see a Tory government in an independent Scotland, but I'd take that right now if offered.

it's assumed she will announce the date of her resignation

Theresa May will address Tory MPs at the 1922 committee at 5pm tomorrow.

And it looks as if the ERG will now back May's deal rather than have no brexit

The DUP won't be happy with that as it threatens the precious precious union.

I always thought May would need to choose which lot she was going to shaft but it could be out of her hands if events take over.

I would not be interested in independence if we end up with American spelling.

Putting aside the joys autocorrecting spellcheckers for a second. You’d prefer English spelling? How independent. At least the yanks gained their independence from the English. You can’t even leave the confines of their spelling. :wink2:

I don't normally pay much attention to people who call into radio phone ins but this guy on Nicky Campbell earlier sounded pretty genuine.

An English guy from Elgin, said up front before people say I'm an SNP supporter, I'm not.  Said he'd always voted Tory and had been a. member previously and said he'd never vote for them again because of Brexit, obviously he voted Remain in 2016.

However, he said that he'd voted No in 2014, it had never entered his head to vote Yes but would do so now.  he said a lot of his friends were thinking similarly.

Just one guy but shows there's two sides to this, hopefully will cheer Hampden Loon up a bit

Barry Gardiner is some man

On the day that big Thereeza might announce her resignation he delivers the classic - "Labour is not a remain party" line

What a stooshie

I agree that we need to attract right of centre to achieve independence , doesnt mean we need to like or want to though.

Having a social conscience does not necessarily mean you are a socialist,  in the same way being a Tory does not necessarily mean you are a rabid right wing capitalist.

If Scotland were to end up with a government similar to what we currently have in Westminster I would be bitterly disappointed and wonder what the fook the point of it was. I am not an ‘independence at any costs’ person, and I am definitely not a socialist,  I want a fairer country and cannot see that happening under any government with current Tory values.

Completely agree. Might have been better to concentrate the anti Tory rhetoric simply to leafleting in areas that were strong Labour.
