May be wrong though. Mark Wotte just confirmed that if you finish top of your group, you can not draw the other group winners in the Elite round next. Group winners, runners up and 5 (?) best 3rd place teams make it to the Elite round. So far Portugal have qualified as group winners, with Slovakia 2nd and Northern Ireland 3rd. One group includes England and France though. Given the finals of this tournament count towards qualification for the U17 world cup (and you effectively qualify if you win 1 game at the finals, being held in Bulgaria next year) would make qualifying a massive incentive Edited September 25, 2014 by wanderer Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The actual finals have extended from 8 teams to 16, with winners and runners up qualifying + a few of the best runners up from the 3rd place teams.
