  1. Hi all, I'd just like to bring my Scotland podcast to the attention of fellow fans. I hope this post is allowed, apologies if it goes against any rules of the forum. It's called The Hampden Roar and I've been interviewing former players, and so far one manager, about their international careers. I've got 9 episodes online and have some more good guests lined up over the coming months. Kenny Miller, Gary Caldwell, Stephen McManus, Paul Lambert, Ian Murray, Jim McCalliog, Murdo McLeod and Craig Brown episodes are all online. Part two of my interview with Kenny Miller will be out this week. The host website with episodes is called Audioboom and can be found here https://audioboom.com/channels/4969604 It's also on iTunes, Spotify and Google podcasts if those platforms suit any potential listeners better. Thanks for taking the time to read and I hope that anyone that gives it a go enjoys it. Cheers, Andy.
  2. Hi there. after a late call off, I am now selling an adult ticket for the home end. Face value.
  3. Awright bawbags, thought this might interest yeez... DID YOU KNOW... There have been 3 Hampdens? The first Hampden was the first purpose built football stadium IN THE WORLD!? It too belonged to Queen's Park FC!? The first Scottish Cup Final's were played there? This is where the "Scots Professors" invented the modern passing game of fitba that has spread across the world and is watched and played by 3.5bn people today!?!??!? Everytime you head into Mt Florida on the train you pass and probably actually look over the site of our first home? A lot of history there and not a lot of people know about it! There's a group of folk VERY keen to change that and in a super cool way! click on the link below and have a read. https://hampdencollection.net/1sthampdenmural/ Graeme, Ged and the guys at The Hampden Collection are working hard to raise just £5k to promote and celebrate that fantastic history in the way of the mural which I think you'll agree looks cool as and will look magic once in place! They're almost there, over £2k so far so let's get involved and get them there!!! The guys will be on Off The Ball on Saturday to chat about this and a few other very relevant topics so tune in! they're a great bunch and if we get the donations going we might even get a wee plug !!! Spread the word, get involved, DONATE!!! even if it's a couple of £s one less pint is worth it surely!!! https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/1sthampdenmural So next time when England are singing "it's coming home" you can remind them... if it WERE "coming home" it'd be heading to the South side of Glasgow! GIRFUY

  8. Shinty is to be showcased for six months from October in the award winning Scottish Football Museum at Hampden Park, Glasgow in a partnership that will celebrate the historic links between the two sports and promote an awareness and understanding of shinty to a new and wider audience. The exhibition is being organised by the Camanachd Association (shinty’s ruling body), in partnership with the Scottish Football Museum. A significant part of the Scottish Football Museum has been offered to shinty for the six-month period and a working group has begun deliberating how best to use the opportunity. The group is being led by shinty historian and broadcaster Dr Hugh Dan MacLennan, who is already familiar with the steps of the famous stadium having worked with Alzheimer Scotland on the Shinty Memories project also based at Hampden Park, said: “The opportunity to hold the exhibition in Hampden arose directly out of our partnership with Alzheimer Scotland and the hugely successful Shinty Memories Project. We will be able to mount the exhibition using the Hampden staff’s wealth of experience and as a facility for this kind of thing it is unmatched. Some of the exhibition will last for six months and some parts of it will be changed and rotated to allow us to maximise the opportunity and show as much as we can of shinty’s past, present and future.” Many of shinty’s great trophies will be on display on a planned rotation and clubs and Associations within the game are to be offered the opportunity to be part of the six-month long event. Interesting and unusual objects are also being sought for display and clubs views will be sought on the content. Jim Barr, President of the Camanachd Association said: “The exhibition offers shinty a unique opportunity to celebrate our historic links with football and reach new audiences from across Scotland and beyond. The Scottish Football Museum is a five-star visitor attraction and thousands of people will pass through facility during this period, providing us with a great chance to tell shinty’s story and win new friends and supporters for the sport. The project dovetails with our strategic commitment to reassert participation and profile for the sport in the central belt, it also complements our long-term aspiration for an archive of the game’s riches, and we hope to be in a position to take elements of the exhibition around the shinty playing areas in the future.” The exhibition will be bilingual with a strong Gaelic element throughout, which is being supported by Bòrd na Gàidhlig, the national Gaelic development agency. Bòrd na Gàidhlig Head of Gaelic Usage, Daibhidh Boag said: “In the National Gaelic Language Plan 2012-17, we recognise the importance of promoting the visibility and audibility of Gaelic as a unique part of Scotland’s heritage. This exhibition offers an excellent opportunity to do just that and I’m sure that this will be an excellent showcase for both shinty and Gaelic within one of Scotland’s most iconic sporting venues.” Shinty is assured of a warm welcome at Hampden and given’s shinty’s participation in the Scottish Sporting Heritage network, also based at Hampden, the partnership between football and shinty which is as old as sport in the city, looks set to develop. Indeed the draw for the next round of the SSE Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup will be held at Hampden next week with details to be confirmed shortly, following Saturday’s matches in shinty’s main competition. Robert Craig, Chair of the Scottish Football Museum said: “The museum is delighted to host this exciting new exhibition and we look forward to working ever closer with the Camanachd Association, one of our partners in Sports Heritage Scotland. With many sporting bodies and clubs in Scotland now cooperating through the Sports Heritage Scotland network as well as the Alzheimer Scotland reminiscence project, this exhibition signifies the beginning of an expansion of these partnerships into new areas.”
