  1. Hi all, my name is Simon and I am a Garda (Police Officer) in Galway, Ireland. I am running a fundraisers in aid of Little Blue Heroes charity wherein signed rugby jerseys (33 in total incl. Ireland, All Blacks, B&I Lions, 2 x Munster & many many more) are up for grabs. For raffle entry its a small donation to www.idonate.ie/RugbyLBH (€5 - 1 entry, €8 - 2 entries, €10 - 3 entries). Raffle draw is 7pm this Sat March 23rd. For close-up pictures of all 33 signed jerseys see here https://myalbum.com/album/3oyHwL7tayn8ee/
  2. Let's hit this one big time! sign, share and share again! https://www.change.org/p/uefa-scotland-football-matches-should-be-on-free-to-air-television-oorladsoortelly?recruiter=1167544822&recruited_by_id=829ab090-3796-11eb-b148-e70760a47285&utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=copylink&utm_campaign=petition_dashboard&fbclid=IwAR0tnUn8kIrz6JrlfcFm-08tyALknrD7PPRw71VGcB67qABG6etpcEUoziM
  3. https://www.scottishfa.co.uk/news/hampden-park-included-in-uk-ireland-preliminary-bid-dossier-to-host-uefa-euro-2028/?rid=14258 Got to say I've no enthusiasm for this tournament bid whatsoever as it's England + a few other token venues and is sailing FAR to close to being "british" for my liking, but it COULD be the lever to get the funding we so desperately need to upgrade Hampden Park and bring her into the 21st century!
  4. Hi, Looking for 4 tickets to the Norway game on the 19th of Nov. Never managed to get tickets this morning Thanks
  5. Sept 8th Sept 12th Georgia v Spain Norway v Georgia Cyprus v Scotland Cyprus v Spain (Scotland v England) IF Spain beat Georgia and we beat Cyprus (likely) that would put us 11pts ahead of both Norway and Georgia. (us on 15, them both on 4pts with 4 games to go) They play eachother the same time that we play England on the 12th Sept, if they were to draw that game we'd qualify that night as they'd both be left 10pts behind us with 3 games to go... Could be an interesting evening at the world's oldest international fitba stadium...
  6. Bzzzz

    Ben Doak

Came on for the last 15/20mins of Liverpool's FA Cup game v Wolves. Seriously, looks quality anytime he's near the ball, nippy, skillful, aggressive, intelligent and quick. EASILY good enough for the first team right now! FIngers crossed we'll see him in the squad for the March double header. Not been this excited about a young player for a long long time.
  7. #Fitba150 announced to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the World’s First International Football Match held on St Andrew’s Day 1872 The Hampden Collection and its partners launch #Fitba150, a programme of events scheduled for November 2022, celebrating the world's first international football match between Scotland and England, held at Hamilton Crescent, the home of West of Scotland Cricket Club in Partick, Glasgow, on St Andrews Day, 1872. #Fitba150 will run during the month of the world's biggest international football competition, FIFA World Cup 2022, and explain the Scottish roots of international football. This original ‘Great Match’ provided the ignition switch and launchpad for the explosion of football across Glasgow and Scotland, and led to the trailblazing Scotch Professors taking their beautiful game to the world. This 150th anniversary of international football celebrates the first occasion where 4,000 Tartan Army foot soldiers marched to watch their heroes play. The game signalled the start of a love affair with their national football team, and our celebrations will immortalise the Tartan Army's 150th birthday. Graeme Brown, Founder of the Hampden Collection, explains, “We’ve been building towards this anniversary over the last five years, and developed a platform to celebrate one of the most important moments in football. The world should recognise Scotland as the home of international football, where Queen's Park set the template for all future matches, and established a legacy enjoyed around the world today. Our mission is to create memorable moments for everyone fascinated by Scotland's pioneering contribution to the footballing world and tell this story to the masses." #Fitba150 includes events involving two foundation clubs of Scottish Football, namely Queen's Park and Clydesdale, who contested the first Scottish Cup Final. Both of these teams were the driving force behind the creation of the Scottish Football Association, which was created some short five months after the inaugural international match. Queen's Park Football Club Director, Gregor Hall, commented, "The club is delighted to work with The Hampden Collection to create a highly entertaining and informative series of events. Queen's played a pivotal role in organising the world's first international football match, and we must celebrate these trailblazers and pioneers of the modern game." Clydesdale Cricket Club's Vice President, Alistair Bleach, enthused about the upcoming anniversary, and the club's involvement in a series of forthcoming celebratory events, explains, "The dear green fields of Glasgow have always been a place for emerging sports. These cricket clubs were often the origin or venue points for the rising popularity of team sports such as rugby, hockey and football. As Clydesdale enters its 175th year, we are celebrating its role at the forefront of the 'football explosion' alongside the efforts of Scotland's other cricket clubs and Queen's Park Football Club." The programme's main event will feature a celebratory kick-off at West of Scotland Cricket Ground on St Andrew's Day, featuring two of the great-grandchildren of one of Scotland's players who featured in the first match. Joseph Taylor was a trailblazer for both country and club, playing at full-back for Scotland in the first six internationals, and featured in all of Queen's Park's Scottish Cup treble-winning team of 1874 to 1876. Colin Mair, President of West of Scotland Cricket Club, explains, "The West of Scotland Cricket Club is delighted to host a commemorative event on the 150th anniversary of the world’s first international football match held here at Hamilton Crescent, Partick on St Andrew’s Day 1872. This match heralded the dawn of international football and shows how Glasgow and the then West cricket and rugby clubs were at the forefront of the football revolution, which now sees the game enjoyed around the world today by millions.” Further events are planned for the Tartan Army to enjoy, concluding with the Tartan Army’s 150th Big Birthday Bash at The Shed on Friday 2nd December, and will be the grand finale for #Fitba150. Graeme Brown explains, “#Fitba150 will kickstart a decade of celebrations, including major anniversaries of the Scottish Football Association, Clydesdale, Opening of the 1st Hampden Park, First Scottish Cup Final, and many memorable international and domestic matches. This programme will illustrate clearly how Scotland was the dominant force at the dawn of football and why the Scotch Professors became the missionaries who taught the world their beautiful game. We are encouraging everyone involved in Scotland's broad and rich landscape of football culture to celebrate and promote Scotland's pioneering role to the world. This is a party for everyone to enjoy.” You can find out more about #Fitba150 on our website - https://hampdencollection.com/fitba150/

  10. Hi all, I'd just like to bring my Scotland podcast to the attention of fellow fans. I hope this post is allowed, apologies if it goes against any rules of the forum. It's called The Hampden Roar and I've been interviewing former players, and so far one manager, about their international careers. I've got 9 episodes online and have some more good guests lined up over the coming months. Kenny Miller, Gary Caldwell, Stephen McManus, Paul Lambert, Ian Murray, Jim McCalliog, Murdo McLeod and Craig Brown episodes are all online. Part two of my interview with Kenny Miller will be out this week. The host website with episodes is called Audioboom and can be found here https://audioboom.com/channels/4969604 It's also on iTunes, Spotify and Google podcasts if those platforms suit any potential listeners better. Thanks for taking the time to read and I hope that anyone that gives it a go enjoys it. Cheers, Andy.
  11. Hi All, We at The Hampden Collection are starting a campaign today to get the Serbia game shown on cooncil (free to air) tv... seems ludicrous that we might be in a situation where on Nov 12th we can watch a meaningless friendly involving our noisy neighbours on tv in Scotland yet have to pay for the privilege to watch our own national team in what is undoubtedly the biggest game in a generation. Coronavirus and the restrictions set are going to prevent us going to the game, are going to stop us watching it in the pub with pals or even watching the game with pals at home so surely there's a great argument for getting this massive game on cooncil telly... let's make the tv bosses, fitba bosses, even the Govt answer some questions and make some decisions, let's see if they'll help us support our national team! Let's get the conversation started and see what happens, you never know https://hampdencollection.com/oorladsoortelly/
  12. The campaign goes on... We at The Hampden Collection are very proud to announce a partnership with Archaeology Scotland to take our research to the next level at 1st Hampden Park. After our recent successes with the stunning mural, the #OorLadsOorTelly campaign, our fantastic poetry section we are back to business at home and the whole point behind our existence, have a read, be inspired. https://hampdencollection.com/the-first-hampden-project/

We're a new football website, celebrating and writing about all that is good about our game - with a particular focus on positive mindsets within the SNT and SWNT. There's lots of gifs from his time at QP and United through to Liverpool and Scotland. For more articles, both written and audio, please check out albamatter.com and please do give us a follow on Twitter/Facebook/IG! Hope to participate more in the chat now I've been approved, Andy

  16. Hi, Please forgive me if this is inappropriate, I have joined the forum very honestly and have looked for specific rules but can't see anything on posts. Feel free to inbox me if I am out of order here, just trying to be helpful. I make hats for football supporters, and also with Dunfermline AFC, at footballbobbles.com. I've made a Scotland hat based on the Italia 1990 away kit and wanted to know what you think, please? We make limited numbers of hats, bobbles all made in the UK, to unique designs. Cheers Reuven

Great value! I don't expect Scotland will win this game but me and Tam will make sure they get some support!

  21. Hi Scotland fans in London all used to gather at the Rob Roy in Paddington which I'm told is shut now. Does anyone know where Scots will be for the Auld Enemy clash? No point watching the game in bars full of English folk!!!!!!!
  22. Now that you have 2 trips to Malta to plan, I though I would share my answers to some of the questions that posted here were asking about. You can of course ignore my sense of humour (leave that up to you) but I genuinely will be happy to help with any practical questions. By the way, I still begrudge Jim Leighton making an incredible save against Malta, sometime in the eighties. It finished 1-1 because of him. http://dinoworldcup.blogspot.ca/2016/01/tartan-army-in-malta.html
  23. So now the SFA have confirmed the 2 friendlies in March, Czech Republic away (24th) and Denmark at home (29th), which I would you like to see included in the squad and who do you think should be given game time? Personally I'd like to see Jordan Rhodes and Chris Martin given more of an opportunity to prove themselves useful upfront. Would love to see Robert Snodgrass introduced back into the squad too, was a brilliant addition to the squad when fit and playing. Dare I say Kieran Tierney?? Looked comfortable for Celtic in defence when playing on the European Stage and has featured in Scotland's U18/19's. Ryan Guald also another youngster we could bring in for experience? However have no idea how he's getting on over at Sporting Lisbon / how much game time he's getting.
