  1. Mentioning John Rutherford - what a player he was - just seemed to ghost past people - as you say no place in today's game for players like him Gary Armstrong etc. Campese who was a genius - no place for him either. One of the best players Ive ever seen was Johnny Wilkinson playing for Newcastle in his early days - fantastic player but no room to show his skills in the modern game where he is limited as a kicker. Today's rugby union player is a sterile machine - bred to tackle and barge in to tackles.
  2. I do care - I like sport and having played rugby at a decent level - Division 4 in the old days and Glasgow schools - I just hanker for the old game where backs and forwards were different and there were some exciting handling movements. As I said before - the game has changed completely into British bulldogs. I wouldn't have played rugby as it is now - much as I loved tackling. Rugby league has changed the other way - in the ddays of Eddie Waring it also was British bulldogs style. Watch a super league game now and alsmost without exception its a fantastic game. Problem I have with rugby union internationals is that due to the hype I sit down to watch it - but apart from todays games (which had added interest due to the points required) then I just become bored with it.
  3. My kitty on Paddy Power standing at £133 today (starting with twenty and if it gets over thirty then bet half the kitty - on odds on shots single). Today had £65 on QOS at 1/3 - up to £155 now. Had Alfreton, Crawley , Albion Rovers and Elgin - 122/1 for £1. All winning until Chester equalised against Alfreton with three minutes to go. Did the Sky enhanced treble of Spurs, Southampton and Arsenal as well £5 at 4/1. Dirty Leeds let my £5 acccum down as well.
  4. Today's games were far more entertaining than usual . The game has changed since it became professional. I used to play at a decent level and enjoyed it - but nowadays its turned into a game of British Bulldogs with the ball up the jumper and bash in. Very little sleight of hand and exciting passing movements as the defence prevails normally. Bit of an exception today with caution thrown to the wind. Ireland pissed all over North Britain - embarrassment. I used to go to lots of international games before the stadium was revamped - couldn't give a monkey how they get on now - especially as I view them representing North Britain and not Scotland. For a decent game of rugby - its rugby league for me - far better to watch.
  5. The £124 from Tbilisi to Gatwick is a single not a return. I'm going on 2 separate flights on different days to Georgia from Gatwick via Istanbul - cost of outward flights approx. £100 total.
  6. I don't fancy a rub down from those butch blokes.
  7. Stopping over for 1 night on way to Georgia. Anyone been - any recommendations on things to see and do.
  8. There are a group of players who I just couldn't pick the best from - Pele, Maradona, Zidane aand Messi - all of them a genius. Below them is another big group too many to mention Ronaldo, Best, Cruyff, Beckenbaur etc. Although my personal favourite has to be Brett Ormerod at Blackpool. Best player Ive ever seen live was Mario Kempes playing for Valencia at Ibrox.
  9. Return from Tbilisi to Gatwick - Sat morning with Air Baltic - £124.
  10. Just started with first part of flights - Gatwick to Istanbul on 01/09/2015 - 59 euros with Pegasus. Having 1 day in Istanbul then on to Tbilisi on Wed 02/09/2015 with either Pegasus or Turkish Airlines. Probs back to Gatwick with Air Baltic.
  11. The media and the main political parties have influenced an opinion throughout England that the SNP are toxic and this is spilling into "jock bashing" whenever the chance prevails. On the one had its annoying - but on the other hopefully it will show those in Scotland who voted NO just what disdain the Scots are held in as part of the UK.
  12. David Speedie and Steve Archibald were totally shyte in a Scotland shirt. Andy Goram (when he played) - probs our best ever keeper.
  13. **********Another Gay Thread Alert ************************************ ffs this place is turning into the women's institute - has Francis Gay of the People's friend become respectable reading? Cooking, ironing , praising the hard working mothers - jeez geeza break and get back to fitba and politics.
  14. FFS - got the South Britain tries, points etc on the spreads , they should be out of sight by now against the North Brits. Rugby Union these days is pish boring .
  15. Half my kitty - £51 quid on Bournemouth to beat Blackpool at 1/6.
  16. Couldn't care less how Celtic deal with it. First name on the Scotland teamsheet for me at the moment.
  17. I start with £20 in the kitty and try to build it up by betting half the kitty on odds on shots. I'm up to £102 after Inverness and Hibs (bit of a scare) winning this week. Next bet is £51 - tempted by Aberdeen tonight but shiteing it a wee bit - not sure whether just to leave it for Bournemouth at home to Blackpool at 1/6 tomorrow.
  18. They even reward him with a football banning order so the lucky bassa disnae have to watch Rangers again this season.
  19. should be prosecuted perverting the course of justice at least. Would be even better if the whole pack of lies and cover up from the police and government was exposed. To me - he has to take responsibility for the deaths - any normal human being would have opened the gates on the fences to allow people to spill on to pitch. But was indicative of the disdain with which police treated any football supporter.
  20. Bad news lads , I'm waiting on Annie Power for accum with Un de Sceaux and Faugheen. Backed Faugheen single. Got up too late after nightshift and missed first race - otherwise Douvan would have been added as well.
  21. I'm renting a flat in Newcastle just now. Lots of mail for previous tenants comes into post box. I just wonder how many of them are on the electoral list at this address. It just struck me how easy it would be for the likes of MI5 or some other government agency to cross-reference the electoral list with addresses and determine how many people are on the electoral list but no longer at the address. Then intercept the post or postal vote and turn it to their own advantage. Way too easy and subject to fraud.
  22. Top class goal from Arsenal. How many times does Rooney seem to be on his own in the penalty box without a defender picking him up.
  23. The will of the Scottish people being treated with complete disdain.
  24. Why does living outside Scotland make anyone less Scottish Larky? At least its not the We arra People's enclave of Larkhall. Back to the tennis - anyone else feel uncomfortable with the waving of UJS along with the Proclaimer's music. Bastards are hijacking it.
