I was sure that Barnes was getting a mention near the end of last year because there was some indication that he would be interested in Scotland? I know he bigged up England more recently though
He *was* an average Championship striker, which would be good enough for us considering. However, is form has been consistently miss for the entire season. If there are only 23 slots then surely he knows the score, we can't carry liabilities.
He has been valuable for us but we need to pick people that will contribute this summer, this isn't the Oscars where you get awards for historical effort. If he starts playing well for QPR then he should still be considered. I am not holding my breath
I watched the Doak games. He was lively and dangerous in all of them except for the USG game where he was on the LW, and the Chelsea game where he was on for about 10 mins.
He was also poor in an EPL vs Brighton the season before. On the LW in that game as well. Maybe the only concern about him is that that he never cuts inside or varies it up - might explain the Klopp RW experiments.
I like him and I was suprised, but then you see stuff like Everton issuing a hands off like in the link below. He seems to be simultaneously considered not good enough and one of the hottest properties in Europe.

Where they are at the moment, McT arguably is their best performing player. He is their top scorer this season. Who would be rated above him? Garnacho maybe?
You can't gauge how good a player is in that Man U team. People naturally assume the other players are better because you know they were top grade performers at other clubs. Who knows how good McT actually is? He could be Ballon d'Or quality for all we know
What percentange of SSCers will apply for tickets I wonder. There isn' t really any recent equivalant events to compare it to. Was SSC around for France 98? How many SSCers applied for the Euro 20 game at Wembley?
The article is OK. The guy is an Irish war correspondent with close ties to Eastern Europe. it is only posted here because the poster was scraping the barrel trying to find an example of a Welsh football pundit publicly backing Ukraine to beat Wales. It is completely out of context
Do you have any examples of actual Wales pundits or fans wanting Ukraine to win or suggesting they be given a by? I think the closest you have is a Guardian Foreign War Correspondent who claims "Welsh heritage"
