Football's stand against racism, sectarianism, domestic violence, homophobia and for solidarity with Ukraine, etc, is seen by too many as "virtue-signalling". Shoot me down in flames if you wish, but how about the SFA offering to play the tie in Kyiv with military defensive guarantees for the stadium. I am available for selection but the team would suffer. Alternatively, in solidarity, I would join-up with the Tartan Army in this historic event. As a State Pension dependent (the lowest in western Europe, remember,) I would require sponsorship for my journey (and possibly for a kilt and hose). Support for our national team; for decency and solidarity and a holiday of a life-time: and a virtue signal to our own people safe and sound in our warm homes.
