  1. Hornby definitely has to start playing regularly, even if he drops down a league in France or he joins a team in League one in England. Hopefully it happens soon, as I do think he has more potential than McBurnie.
  2. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/football/54916539
  3. It was. It's a shame that clubs reverted to form and thought of themselves, as opposed to the greater good.
  4. Hornby by scored 10 in 16 at u21 level. McBurnie scored 2 in 12. Hornby looked better in every department than McBurnie at u21 level. McBurmie looked like a fish out of water, every single time I saw him. When Hornby returns to England, and he plays regularly, that's when we can judge how good he is. He's still only 21.
  5. Yeah. I read that, too. Coming from the fans, who unanimously sided with Pogba in his battle with Mourinho. Not too smart.
  6. Yeah. It's about time we told Sky to go to hell. When they were the only players in town, we had to curtail to them, but now, with BT and Amazon and Beinsports, etc, maybe it's time to head in a different direction, even if it means less income. The fans should get a vote on league reconstruction. The teams can no longer be trusted to do what's best for Scottish football and, more importantly, the national team. History has shown that they care for neither.
  7. There's no drawback from a larger top league. The SPL teams are self-serving and selfish to the core, so it shouldn't even go down to a democratic vote. It should be forced on them, if they don't like it, they can lump it.
  8. Just footballers? How about Lewis Hamilton, etc? And "media attention whores" is a bit strong. These days media is the only way to get things changed. What do you think of Boris Johnston's reaction to Rashford if he send him a letter. He would've been ignored, or patronized. It came out in the media, therefore, Johnston's hands were tied. Rashford is young, he's a millionaire, he has the best job in the world, he plays for the biggest club in the word, he plays at World Cups, etc. One thing in his young life that he hasn't been short of, is media attention.
  9. Watched the ICT vs QOS match. Kai Kennedy was ok. Had a couple of glimpses, but nothing remarkable. He's only 18, but if he wants to progress he has a lot of work to do. I don't understand what he'll learn from a 6-month loan and then going back to Rangers to play 0 minutes for the rest of the season. James Maxwell (18, also on loan from Rangers) was very good. He has a bit of Andy Robertson about him. Another left-back... Roddy Macgregor (18, central midfielder/attacking midfielder) was the stand-out. He showed some lovely touch and some nice skills. A goal and an assist to his name. His goal was kinda like Pogba's goal against Leeds, maybe even more difficult, as it was a half volley. What I learned from this match is that both teams play out of from the back, they give kids a chance and they wouldn't look out of place in the SPL... Which is why the SPL should be expanded to 18 teams.
  10. True. It's weird with McTominay, though, he played very well against PSG and some were saying he was world-class... He played well against West Ham and some were saying that he was mediocre and his passing was atrocious (90% success rate) It sums up the Jekyll and Hyde Man United season. They (United fans) may not like it, but no matter who the United manager is, McTominay will be a starter, as he's a manger's dream.
  11. The online Man United fans are as inconsistent as their team. Either McTominay gives a world class performance, the next he's given the worst performance since Manchester United were established. I have a soft spot for Man United, growing up they were swashbuckling and they had Cantona, Giggs, Keane, etc, but I have to admit, a section of their fans are clueless. Every successful team has a player like McTominay. Liverpool have Henderson, who is not as good as McTominay. The difference? Liverpool have a world class manager. If Klopp was United manager, they'd be top of the league.
  12. A fine performance against PSG, so far. A great tackle on Neymar, getting up McTominay trods on Neymar's foot. Neymar being Neymar, he acts like he was shot in the foot by a sniper. When the play continues, McTominay is on him with another challenge. Going up the tunnel at half time McTominay was giving Neymar verbals. Our boy can certainly dish it out. Hopefully it continues in the 2nd half.
  13. What a weird thing to say. Sean Connery was an ex pat. Hands up who didn't care what he thought. Ignore him. He's just picking on you because he thinks he can get a rise out of you. He tried it with me, then quickly realizes he wouldn't get anywhere. What an exhilarating 2 seconds that was.
  14. Maybe. If you've watched Sheffield United matches you'll know that it's a strange one. There's a sense of "Murphy's law about it".
  15. Yep. Sheffield United should've won. McBurnie missed a sitter and Burke almost scored with a header. It's a strange one. Sheffield United, in ten matches, they've lost seven of them by a single goal. Never seen anything like it. Chris Wilder, if they do down, deserves a couple of seasons to get them back up. Besides, when he joined, they were bottom of the Championship. They owe him loyalty.
  16. Definitely. I suspect the person you're talking to hasn't seen a Belgium top flight match. I've watched quite a lot over the past few months. It's miles better than the SPL. As for ruling out Gauld because he's playing for a relegation threatened team. If that's the case, we should rule out Marshall, McKenna, Dykes, McBurnie, Burke, Fleck, etc. That's potentially half of our strongest XI. It's pure ignorance. Ryan Gauld has been one of the best players in the Portuguese top flight. There's zero chance that he won't be signed on a Bosman by a more illustrious team next year.
  17. Yeah. I'll go along with that. Billy Gilmour is the only exception to the rule. Even if he's on loan or even on the Chelsea bench.
  18. You're welcome. I still have them on TiVo. People should remember that when they're criticising McBurmie. Those matches were in the summer, after a long season. He could've easily have claimed tiredness and went on holiday with his mates. He didn't. As for Che Adams. He's rejected playing fir our u21s and the seniors. I would ask him to switch allegiance till AFTER Euro 2020. The squad who got us there deserves to play in the Euros. Besides, if Adams does want to play for us, he'll wait on us like he's made us wait on him.
  19. McLaughlin, McKenna, McTominay, McBurnie, Paterson, O'Donnell, McGinn, Christie, McLean.
  20. Can't remember Let's get this straight, though, a commodity is only worth what someone is willing to pay for them. If Sheffield United thought that he was worth spending £20m on him, after scoring 31 goals on two seasons in the Championship, that their prerogative. He's a difficult player to work out. I don't think he's technically good enough for the EPL, at least not yet. The injury to Jack O'Connell has really crippled Sheffield United. It's harsh for them to want to ditch three at the back. Their previous 7 defeats, 6 of them have been by a single goal. Which is extraordinary.
  21. You won't be... by anyone with a functional brain stem. Rashford is a shining example to every famous person, not just footballers. If a person is in a fortunate position to make change - and help the less fortunate - and they do, they should be praised, by all corners. He certainly sets a better example than David "I'm not giving UNICEF my f*cking money" Beckham.
  22. McBurnie and Fleck starting for Sheffield United. Burke on the bench.
