  1. Asked a pal who's a Stoke fan about Brown and he rates him but says he's suffered this season from a mix of injury, change in manager and change in formation. He played his best stuff last season playing as a striker or part of a front 3 and then this season they've changed system a lot and in some games found himself being played at wing back
  2. The thing with Anderson is he doesn't turn 21 until a year from now and under Fifa's latest rules he'd still be able to switch to England unless he got 4 competitive caps between now and then. Do we really want to be in a situation where we're bringing him off the bench in 4 of our qualifiers just for that reason? Feels a bit of a farce.
  3. Glad to see Liam Morrison & Jude Smith involved. Would have liked to have seen Anderson & Doig in the squad for the Turkey friendly
  4. Taylor the only Scottish player starting for Celtic tonight
  5. I see Lowry mentioned a lot on here for potential callups but he barely seems to ever get off the bench for Rangers
  6. Man City have signed Emilio Lawrence from Everton. All news outlets referring to him as Scottish as he has been capped for U16s though is eligible for England too but hasn't had any callups from them. Apparently a very highly rated talent, hopefully he's involved in future youth squads.
  7. I've had this happen in the past and have just emailed with screenshots and they've fixed it
  8. Ridiculous to blame Weir for the loss. There was still 90% of the game left to play and as a team we simply didn't create enough
  9. Can't believe how few chances we had for so much possession. Also when we had players like Emslie, Cuthbert, Weir, Brown etc on. There's some talent there but the tactics seemed shite, far too much passing between the back 4 and hoofing it.
  10. Need Wales to win and/or a Portugal win by same or smaller margin. If we win on penalties we need a Wales win and/or Portugal to win on penalties. Such a bizarre system
  11. Watched Forest vs Villa last night. Mckenna had a solid game but McGinn struggled though to be honest the whole Villa midfield looked disjointed. He's trying to fit McGinn, Ramsey, Coutinho & Buendia in the same side when all 4 play their best when playing off of the striker/No 10 role
  12. Must admit I had a similar thought. Terrible for the lad though having to retire at 24, hopefully still manages to find work within the game
  13. Fixtures confirmed as unchanged
  14. Ideally would love to see him go to Serie A with the other Scots. I think the sooner he gets out of Scotland, the sooner he'll no longer be a panto villain
  15. He should be calling up Hyam and bringing Conway in from the U21s
  16. One of my big frustrations with the Poland & Austria friendlies was that we didn’t try any of the backup keepers. Now we might have to throw in McLaughlin (who’s in abysmal form) or Kelly (uncapped) in a must win game
  17. I’d go with this. Ideally wouldn’t want to play McTom at the back but the system only works if you have good players who can bring the ball out (which is why I think Cooper struggled playing in KT’s place in the playoff). Taylor has started the season well but I’ve gone for Hickey who’s played that position at a higher level and I think generally a better player.
  18. Zinchenko has picked up an injury in training and is ruled out of the upcoming games
  19. From Norwich's website: Team news: Uncertainty over Hanley for West Brom Dean Smith confirmed that Grant Hanley will be reviewed in training following his shoulder injury on Wednesday night. He said: "Hanley is a little bit of a concern. He said he doesn't feel that bad and he's an experienced player so he knows what is best for him. "He has a call up for Scotland to think about as well."
  20. If Hanley is injured then I'd be looking at replacing him with Hyam
  21. From reading his interviews when he signed for Vancouver and from looking at his time there and in Portugal, he seems to want to be at a team where he's the star player and the team is built around him and I don't think he'd have had that elsewhere even though he definitely has ability.
  22. If anything, the fact that SOD didn't have the ability but still gave 110% always endeared him to me as a player. Just a guy giving his all for the national team. Much better than players of the past who've had the ability but turned up when they felt like it. His performances against England in the Euros and against Austria away were both great and it's a shame he couldn't put away either of the chances he got in those games.
  23. The idea of writing off Jacob Brown when he's only 24 and currently playing at a good standard of football is ridiculous. Would like to see him given a chance alongside Adams but Clarke only ever seems to want to bring one on for the other.
