  1. Orange-a glad that I made that typo?
  2. I can't disagree with any of that, as it's spot-on. However, Robertson, Tierney and Fraser are players that we've produced by accident and not design. These three are a few levels above their Scottish pears (apart from McTominay). I'd say that those four (including McTominay) can play in multiple positions and make it look seamless. Look at McTominay, at youth level he played a fair percentage of his matches as a striker. The better a player is the better they are at adaptability. The majority of our players look unconvincing in one position, let alone multiple positions. Trust me, if we managed to snare a top manager he would mould those four and build the team around them. There would be none of this "playing players out of position" nonsense. A top manager would make sure that the end justified the means.
  3. McTominay can't play in goal, someone else had the same idea as you: "If only he could play in goal"
  4. I think there's many factors. Let's not pretend that Robertson is akin to Bale or Ronaldo where he beats three and four players and lays it on a plate for a striker. The majority of time he's played in by a midfielder allowing Robertson to either pass it or cross it into the middle. We only have one central midfielder who could spot a pass at the very top level. Fraser has proven me wrong. He's far better than I gave him credit for. He does his best work in the middle with his movement and fast little passes. With our general creativity and how many real chances we create, not even the best strikers in the world would have a sniff of a chance if they played for Scotland. Our next manager must start with the basics and make it difficult to beat, once that's achieved we can begin to think about actually creating and scoring.
  5. Thinking back, wasn't it the common consensus that he's make it? I wasn't registered here at the time so I don't know. Personally, I knew he'd make it at Liverpool. He's faced and beaten ever single challenge that he's had in his professional life. I knew this would be no different.
  6. It would appear that people are so beaten up by me that they'd rather put a "sad" smilie next to my post than actually question me.
  7. Joshua Kimmich has second most assists this season in the Bundesliga with 14 (and two goals). He plays at right back for Bayern Munich. He plays as an anchorman with Germany.
  8. As opposed to the left side of the defence? Quotes like yours makes me wonder if people really know that much about football. Yes, he's record holder for assists for a defender in EPL history, but we don't have Salah, we don't have Mane or Firminho. We have McBurnie and McNulty. Robertson doesn't get into the same positions with Scotland as he does Liverpool, he is unable to have the same authority, he's not able to lay chances on a plate for Scotland because Scotland are not of the same level as Liverpool. Do I even have to say that?
  9. Woodward is incompetent. Jurgen Klopp was willing to join Manchester United... till he met Woodward. Apparently Woodward's pitch was to say to Klopp that Old Trafford is an adult version of Disneyland.
  10. Oh. Bloody hell.... I kinda wish he was Scottish in fairness, as he'd had a superb season at right wingback. With that name he's probably got Irish roots, though.
  11. That was nice of you! But you're right about the standard of "Cats". If you're being introduced to musicals then I'd suggest you stay clear of that particular musical. Hell, even if you love musicals you should still stay clear!
  12. Yes, everyone does have issues, but not everyone is strong enough to get help for said issues. Again with that insult. You are allowed to cast other insults, you know. You aren't restricted to just the one. Too much of a good thing, and all that. I still insist that it isn't an insult, though. It's a ladies body part that gives birth to the human race. How's that an insult? Oh. Trust me. I'm constantly doing research and picking up tidbits, even in my downtime. Don't worry, though, I wouldn't take anything from you as you just basically one the one word to insult people, other than that, you don't seem very bright at all. I was giving you the benefit of the doubt by suggesting that you may be three-sheets-to-the-wind, but to find out that you wrote all that sober. Yikes. In all seriousness, if you do want help just PM me and I'd be glad to aid you. l Nah. I have a lovely set of pearly whites. Drug use may be a stereotypical Scottish weakness, but I've never touched any class of drugs. Thanks for your concern, though. Scottish people don't usually use that as an insult another fellow Scots, though. It's more of an English insult. You're talking like you've been here before or you know me? You only have 113 posts, so either you got banned and you made another account (why would you join a club that doesn't want you?) or you're a serial lurker. Either way, I have no idea who you are. Thanks for noticing me, though. One more thing, in my relatively short time here a lot of people have insults me, attacked me, etc, but it doesn't work. Insulting me if like shooting Superman with a pistol. If you really had paid attention like you say you have you'll have known that.
  13. I'm not one of them? And pray tell, why should I, or anyone, heed your advice? Your vocabulary is slim, it only appears that you only know one insult (even though it's not really an insult if you really think about it) and just a moment ago you generalized the whole human race by calling them "cunts". You don't sound like a Professor or any source of wisdom, so you'll excuse me if I take your opinion with a pinch of salt. I do, however, think that you have issues. You may or may not be a misogynist, personally I don't think you are, I just think you need to expand your vocabulary and learn shiny new words, as no one likes someone who is repetitive. Also, I'm as misanthropic as the most misanthropic person out there, but even I'm not as blind as to suggest that 100% of humanity are, in your word, "cunts". Also, you may be drunk.
  14. There we have it again. You're saying it like a vagina is a bad thing and that there's negative connotations surrounding it. Do you actually hate women? Serious question. If you avoid the question again then you DO hate women but you're ashamed to admit to it.
  15. You seem to say that word a lot, is it supposed to be an insult? Are you a misogynist? Do you hate women? Do you revile lady parts?
  16. Obviously not, as you just did it. Scottish slang is awful at the best of times, but in text it just looks mentally challenged.
  17. "Herr"? Are you German? I mean, I suppose that would explain the god awful English... If not then I think we're on two different pages. I bid you adieu.
  18. I literally had to read that six times... still have no idea what you're saying. Thanks...?
  19. He had a good 18 minutes (including 8 mins of injury time). He made three impacts on the game: the first was when he bullied Kante off the ball to set up an attack; a great block; and he held off three Chelsea players to win a corner. The way that he strides forward with the ball, aided with his power (and he's only going to get stronger) it would be a mistake to claim that he's an anchorman. We aren't good enough to put shackles on our best players. Watching him in the final third I can see why he played up front for United at under 23 level. His hold up play is exceptional. He actually looks like an upgrade on Lukaku. With his endeavor and his unwillingness to hide, he puts players like Pogba, etc, to shame.
  20. Maybe he was confusing him with Greg Docherty... maybe...
  21. Time will tell. I definitely think that he's in the mix.
  22. Because his stock has never been lower. He's made no secret that he still has an itch to scratch where it comes to the EPL, so he'd probably leave us in the lurch at the first opportunity.
  23. I don't think we have good enough players to beat the likes of Kazakhstan, etc, away from home. We just don't. Our midfield is so bad that I'm advocating playing a fullback and an attacking midfielder in the engine room. Our central defence is so bad that I'm advocating packing the center of defence with three players. We have no right back that is good enough at this level. I don't trust any of our goalkeepers. We have no striker that is good enough at this level. We have Tierney, Robertson, Fraser and McTominay, but the rest are dreadful. There's no getting past it. They showed their true colours in our two most recent matches. I agree with you about the gaps in defense, but they've been there for 18 YEARS! We can't play with a flat back four. Our central defenders struggle at this level, simply because they don't play at a high enough level. I'm all for blaming McLeish, but these are supposed to be professionals here. With the 3-5-2 that Kazakhstan played it stifled us in midfield, watch it again and you'll see how they suffocated us in midfield... however, this is Kazakhstan, not Belgium. The way that our players floundered was embarrassing. Foreign players who are truly coached properly have a skillset to fall back on whenever they meet any kind of duress, like muscle-memory. The muscle-memory of our players is punt it aimlessly up the park. Our players lack technique, skill, intelligence, composure, etc, and that comes from coaching at a young age. If our players could do the basics properly then we'd have more players In the EPL, as there is a lot of average players in the EPL, but average players that can do the basics.
  24. I agree with you 100%. His performance against Barcelona was disgusting. It was like he was auditioning. I've no idea why they splashed so much money to buy it back. He nailed his colours to the mast when he rejected SAF's plea to stay. He's not a United fan, he's never going to be a United fan. He's a mercenary, and the amazing thing is that there's a lot of Man United fans who love him. I find that amazing. From Scholes, Keane, Fletcher, Park, midfielders who would bleed for Manchester United, to a player who is never far off from wrangling for another move. The sooner Pogba leaves United the better, as I feel like he's the ring leader at United, the followers are Lingard, Rashford and Lukaku. If Pogba had a shred of what the four aforementioned midfielders have, he'd be one of the best midfielders in the world. He reminds me of Balotelli. I first saw Balotelli in an Inter match against... someone. He was absolutely superb. He was lightening quick. Brilliant skill and technique. But the reason why Balotelli didn't hit the heights he should've is because he doesn't like football. I get the same vibe with Pogba, too. Pogba is too immersed in his emojis, his fashion label, etc. Football comes a distant 3rd.
