  1. I think they haven't been able to transfer these to the new system. Unsure if they have any intention of bringing this across. The only match in my history now is the NI game
  2. I'm not expressing an opinion either way on whether or not the SFA support either. I don't see any issue with this post and I have my own opinions on it. The notion that sport and politics are detached is, as other have said, nonsense.
  3. I don't get the negative response to this. Either sign the petition if you agree or don't sign it if you don't, or generally abstain from thinking about it if you like. As the original poster mentions, international sport by design includes political implications for the organizers especially, even given the general cliché that sport is free from politics associations do speak up on issues when it suits.
  4. Scotland tickets need to be picked up by each individual member who booked tickets, so if you're not a SSC member, the only option will most likely be via the Gibraltar site.
  5. Big stag do going to Inverness next weekend. If you are in the area and see us about, apologies in advance
  6. Better chance of getting on telly then, result
  7. Just give us the trophy now and save the hassle
  8. The TA are extremely fickle with some shit at times when it comes to supporting players who need it most. Chris Martin and especially Gary McAllister come to mind.
  9. Paterson is an interesting one because he was never getting 1st team experience at Rangers under Tavernier and for all parties a £16m transfer to Everton was a no brainer at the time. He's still very young and I thought at his best he could have been another Alan Hutton type player. He's still very young, I imagine he may find his level eventually, perhaps 1 step below and build confidence from there.
  10. Harvesters fuming 😆 I mean its a fkn 30,000 seat stadium between probably 1500 people going max. They normally go topick up when one or both of the following occur: - Cheap tickets (say £10 of less in some countries) presumably to discourage harvesters from taking a hit for the few quid to gamble on getting points - When we don't expect to sell out our allocation, particularly for friendlies This game falls into the latter of the two above certainly
  11. Aye big worry tbh. I've mentally taken that as a 75% likelihood of a write off given time taken to be match fit etc. Hopefully Paterson rediscovers how to kick his own arse between now and then.
  12. I agree on the poor choice of friendly, Gibraltar especially and to an extent, Finland are pretty bland choices too. Not sure whether that's SFA, Clarke or unavoidable limitations to come to those 2 opponents. Never much transparency on these things minus pish tabloid rumours. I'd take the recent competitive results with a pinch of salt, one redeeming factor to an extent was the player availability at the time, and we have learned the severe drop in standard between our first XI and the rest. If we are watching Greg Taylor versus wingers of the standard we'll face in the Euros because Robertson/Tierney/Hickey can't stay fit between them then we already know we are in trouble - not to pick on Greg Taylor but just as an example. I think we all know it could be a difficult year with slightly mitigating circumstances based on player availability and the quality of opponents we will face, but important to remember how far we've come to get to that point rather than being happy competing with 2nd and 3rd tier European sides for a few results and an outside chance of getting ourselves to a tournament.
  13. Bigger picture - we didn't need to win any of the last 7 games. 15 out of 21 wins in competitive fixtures tell a different story. Whether we are in good form or not, any Scotland team in any condition could go on to lose all 3 of these games at the Euros, but when the cards are down I think Clarke's record speaks for itself. To this point
  14. The current players we are talking about are still infants in football terms. Not saying they won't be big players for us but not directly comparable to a Gilmour who made his international debut 9 days before his 20th birthday with more than double the amount of first team appearances as Doak, and a couple of impactful motm performances in there. Fletcher burst on to the scene when we were desperate and shite and Vogts was giving out caps like sweeties. I trust Clarke to make the right calls and manage this pipeline of young talent in the right way, until any meaningful issues arise in that respect. I'm not totally shiting on calls for Doak relative to some shouts. I was on a WhatsApp chat the other day where someone suggested getting Ryan Gauld and Liam Lindsay in the squad for the Gibraltar game and put them in the squad if they do well 🤣
  15. I wish I had some kind of AI that removed any mention of "Ben Doak" and "Euros squad" or "bleed him in" type of chat. It's borderline Ryan Gauld patter at this point. My guess is that he will be in scope for the squad when he starts playing regularly for Liverpool or another club on loan perhaps at senior level, realistically 6+ months away
  16. Potentially gonna trigger some people here but I think a good step in terms of equality of fans attitude to the women's game is how realistic and objective we are being about the state of the women's side at the moment. In times gone by it would have been a focus on happy clapping about how they are playing in Hampden, how it's good that they get on telly for young girls to watch and aspire to do the same etc, which is still great. But the constant hyperbole and sensationalism relative to the standard of play is what I believe puts sensible people off the women's game, driven mostly by the media. I like that we are being realistic to the team's style and standard of play, particularly under the manager, constructively and not just slandering the whole women's game for the sake of social media point scoring. My own take on it is that since the highs of the Euros in France and narrowly missing out on the World Cup (albeit a very disappointing performance and result in that play off), the team has indeed regressed based on the bits and pieces I've seen, for all the reasons mentioned above.
  17. Good question, I'd assumed 8.45 CET (Portugal follows UK time) so 7.45 local but I hadn't realized it was still TBC. Be a good idea to get it played early and let everyone enjoy their night out after that! Rather than most people getting pished during the day trying to amble their way up to a late kick off for a game that should be an experimental kickabout at best.
  18. Please no more Ryan Gauld shouts! It's no 2021
  19. I've genuinely never had an issue with Wizz Air either, every flight I've taken with them I've enjoyed, and they are handy for the more niche venues
  20. Last point is a good one, my main criticism (not that I have any or much at all) is that at times on the ball we are a bit too laboured when moving it about, I get at times it pays to be patient with it but with a team sitting back against us I don't think we move it well enough on the ground to cut through
  21. Me too! Going to play it by ear on the day we reckon. I think the word "fanzone" is strong, but a few dozen people with cans might be a shout Do agree with the rest of the comments, it's gonna be about a 1500 attendance in a 30,000 seat stadium. Might have been a good atmosphere in one of the small grounds in Gibraltar. At least the traffic in and out wont be bad!
  22. Looking at the satellite images of the ground, there appears to be a large concrete area at the front of the stadium that could be ideal even for an informal fan zone. Just wanted to check from anyone who was there last time whether this was the done thing, e.g would it be ok to park up there for a bit before with carry out etc? The reason the thought came up is that if there are people not booked on supporters busses, the stadium is slightly awkward to get to from Faro town centre (short bus followed by a 30min walk) and even more awkward and long if you're coming from Albufeira, so there may be a lot of people who would want to get around the stadium earlier to beat crowds, but it doesn;t look like there is much by the stadium in terms of amenities, cafes, shops, pubs etc.
  23. Thanks- I'll check back in a month or two
  24. Anyone else finding it strange the lack of Ryanair flights from Glasgow or Edinburgh to Poland in November? Usually there's an absolute slew of Poland flights from both airports to quite a few major Polish cities. Wonder if the sales schedule hasn't quite started yet for those dates. Currently the only flights showing are mostly the higher end airlines like KLM or BA for over £100 one way. Last time we went to Poland for the Ukraine game there were several options more in the region of £30-40
  25. Febreze is a good shout. Gonna be some absolutely howling kilts by the end of it.
