  1. I wouldn't expect him in the squad any time soon but I don't think it's a downward move. St Mirren are doing really well, Goodwin's a good manager.
  2. I'd recommend following him on Twitter. He watches all Scots abroad and reports. Really good.
  3. Permanent. Apologies, I posted this in the wrong thread. But can't delete.
  4. Jordan Holsgrove scores on his debut for Celta Vigo in the cup.
  5. I don't think he was expected to play every game.
  6. I am slightly regretting saying 'undropable' as it seems to have been misconstrued. I agree McTominay could do a good job but there are no signs that Clarke will move him from CB. I'm not even of fan of him playing there. I guess you have a list of these possible midfielders: Gilmour, McGregor, Turnbull, Forrest, Jack, Armstrong, Christie, and McGinn. If you arranged them in order of quality then Jack wouldn't make the team. But I just feel we need a good defensive midfielder in front of a makeshift back three. Jack's the best at that.
  7. McTominay is playing CB. Can't see him being moved. Turnbull - forgive if I am wrong but his strengths aren't his defensive work. Gilmour - being the anchor would be a waste McGinn - ok. I still think Jack is a better defensive midfielder. All just my opinions. 'Undropable' isn't the same as amazing or world beating.
  8. At the minute, he's the best we have for that position. Who else would you have?
  9. I don't mind folks disagreeing but I'd prefer you to explain
  10. I think McGinn is dropable. They all are now. Assuming we are sticking with formation I think you have Jack in front of the defence alongside one of McGinn/Gilmour/McGregor. (Jack's actually undropable at the minute*). I'd love Gilmour in asap as the man bringing it forward. Then slightly more advanced you have a choice of Christie/Fraser/Turnbull/Forrest/Armstrong. Don't know how the hell Clarke works that one out. And that's without including McTominay. *I'm not saying he's amazing, just that he's the only true defensive midfielder.
  11. Kyle Joseph (19) scored a hat trick for Wigan last night. Not a player I was aware of.
  12. Can anyone remind me how many we can have in the squad for the upcoming matches? Seem to remember it's more than we can take to the Euros
  13. I would definitely have Gauld, Gilmour and Turnbull in the next squad. Don't think McLean and Paterson will make many more squads. That's no criticism of them, it's just that we are experiencing a step-up in quality.
  14. Well Christie can play for a top team in England if he wished
  15. About time. Been frustrating seeing him on the bench week-in, week-out
  16. This is brilliant to read. Competition is only getting more intense and players like Paterson and McLean will find it increasingly difficult to get in. Midfield is the most interesting. Take your pick from: Jack, McGregor, McGinn, Gilmour, Forrest, Christie, Armstrong, Fleck, McLean, Fraser and Gauld (plus McTominay but I'm classing him as a defender). You'd have to assume Gilmour will be certain pick by the time the next squad is assembled.
  17. He's only 17. I understood that he had one last switch left. I agree that I don't want someone who only wants us because he's failed to make it with England but he's young enough to still make up his mind.
  18. It's silly I know but I get giddily excited thinking about how good Chelsea were last night and the fact that he's so highly rated. Not wanting to knock McGregor but I think it's his place at risk in the starting XI. Jack and Gilmour in front of the back 3? Jack to break it up and Gilmour to create from there. That leaves Christie/mcGinn/Fraser/Forrest fighting it out for final 2 places?
  19. I saw a fair bit of the game although not Gilmour coming on. They were incredible. If Billy can force his way back into this team it'll be quite something.
  20. Reece McAleer came on for Norwich today. 92nd minute. Dickson-Peters on the bench as well. They've got plenty of young Scots there. Also Mair, Fitzpatrick and Gilmour(?). Didn't Turnbull nearly go there? Wish he had.
  21. He doesn't fit in to the original category but I wondered if the result would change the mind of youngsters who weren't committed. I was specifically thinking of Dembele.
  22. Had a read of a QPR forum and the consensus seems to be that they are not using him right, rather than thinking he's useless. From the one game I saw he was completely isolated
  23. I don't want to come over all chripperish but I got a lot of heat for daring to say Tierney was better than Robertson. I'm still open to the argument that he's not but I'm glad it's not so controversial now. 🙂
