This reminds me of the start of the 90’s , back at the start of the first Gulf War and a few of my then squaddie mates were sent over. I received a letter in the post one day, brown envelope with some ‘official’ looking government marking on the envelope and headed paper. Basically, it started off telling me I had been conscripted to join the army in the defence of Kuwait and invasion of Iraq, all very serious and somber. Second paragraph went on to recommend preparing myself for going for a few runs them watching Kellys Heroes and Where Eagles Dare 😂😂 Found out pretty quickly from my mate that loads of us had been sent this letter and it was doing the rounds all over the country. 😃
