Mrs Slasher forced me to go to an Abba tribute the other week and I was also coerced into Mama Mia the stage show!

    Thats plenty!

Early autumn was the indicative timeframe since the bid was finalised in June, However, as the GCC working group which is preparing a recommendation for Councillors asked Clyde for points of clarity in the middle of September, a decision in October became unlikely.  as i understand it Clyde have not, at present, been advised of a new timeframe.

Clyde are looking to have the legal transfer by end of 2024, also our lease on NDP ends 2025.

    Good stuff, sounds promising 👍

Watch the reply, that tells you more. One Rangers player blocks the aberdeen defender before that tug of shirt, goldson is never in a goal scoring opportunity so its not a pen and IF a tug of shirt is now a penalty......the game is fucked

Saw it more clearly on the tv news last night. Lammers has a little look over his shoulder then deliberately blocks the Aberdeen player. No penalty should have been the decision. You can only assume either Walsh hasn’t seen it or doesn’t think it’s relevant. Either way he’s called it wrong.

Under the current VAR rules its not even a controversial award. As for Cantwell I said at the time that's a booking for the dive. He really needs to address that.

A lot of people seem to think it is controversial under current rules (see DS’s post at the top of the page). Anyway as I said for me it was borderline. If it was given against my team I’d be more pissed at the defender doing the jersey tugging than the officials but that’s just me 🤷🏼‍♂️

Barry Robson thinks is was a bad look for the Scottish game that Rangers were awarded a penalty for this.

image.thumb.png.e0a9775706d2ef461d564d0ae8800b73.pngApparently Barry Robson thinks it a bad look for the Scottish game that Rangers were awarded a penalty for this

Come on Ed a still image proves next to nothing. That said, I do think yesterday’s incident was borderline. If they are saying Goldson was likely to have got on the end of that cross it’s a very generous take imo. The one where the kid (that looks like the blond weirdo out of the Office) takes a dive at Livingston was miles worse, actually scandalous a penalty was given for that!

Probably the same game Slasher, I can remember the entrance by the "casuals" it was certainly a first for me watching the football, I think they thought they would turn up at this smallish Glasgow club and take a few liberties. . . . . . . they didn't take into account that some of the Clyde terracing boys came from the rather posh quiet areas of Bridgeton / Castlemilk & Rutherglen 😄

Aberdeen where some team back in those days and I also look forward to the day (hopefully very soon) that we return to Glasgow.

What’s happening with the new stadium? I’ll need to try and get over for a game while they’re at Hamilton. 👍

Hopefully our new manager (Ian McColl) gets rid of some of the shite players that Jim Duffy signed (and re-signed after we got relegated 😄) come the January window,  and also we have apparently a money man waiting in the sidelines to help the club out, so I would like to think we will have some better players come the Aberdeen cup tie (both clubs will sell out their allotted allocations. . . . . . . . . .

Brings back memories of the only Clyde v Aberdeen game I have attended, pretty sure it was an early league cup or Scottish cup tie (1983/1984 IIRC), we gave a good enough showing that day against an all conquering Aberdeen side that where probably the best team in the country at the time.

Also the first time I encountered smarty well dressed lads looking for a scrap with the Clyde fans 😄

I was at a Clyde v Aberdeen game around that time although I could have sworn it was a pre season friendly so maybe no the same one. I can remember the casuals making a grand entrance just after the game kicked off looking as though they were just off the golf course 😂

Anyway the most notable thing I remember other than that was a remarkable incident at half time. As the players were heading into the tunnel a Clyde fan spat his chewing gum out and whether intentionally or not he hit the big Aberdeen centre half who proceeded to go absolutely tonto. He tried to pull the young guy over the wall to punch fuck out of him. It took 3 or 4 other players to pull him off but not before he’d landed a few belters! The young Clyde fan was then spirited away whilst everyone else tried to calm things down. It’s one of the maddest things I’ve ever seen at the football and yet I can remember scanning the papers the next day and there was no mention of it, all hushed up it seems. I’m sure the player in question was Willie Garner and the big mad bastard ended up at Celtic for a season or so but I don’t remember him playing much. I don’t remember anything about the game at all but Shawfield was some laugh back in the day 😂

  8. A result that doesn’t do much for either side as the huns bottle the chance to narrow the gap and the sheep remain rooted at the wrong end of the table.
Did Cantwell get a yellow for that outrageous dive by the way? I’ve only seen clips on Twitter (X) but he really is the most contemptible cheat!

We were a fuckin brutal watch yesterday! We need to chop out the dead wood and get some quality in when January comes.

  9. There are little mini breakdowns in society happening all over the place and it’s only going to get worse as far as I can see. One of my mates is just back from working in Germany for a couple of months. He reckons some of the TA who haven’t been to the country in a while might be a bit shocked by what they find in some places.

I'm honestly at a loss as to why people don't think it's fair to START with a 50 50 split and toss a coin to determin who gets what end and changing facility, im sure thats how its done the FA cup as an example. The non OF club has the chance to

    A) refuse 50% of the tickets at the start if they don't feel they can sell that much

    or

    B) Attempt to sell their 50% by a certain date, at which point they give them back to the OF team

The governing body making the decsion is wrong on every level

This is just not accurate I’m afraid VA. There is no tossing of a coin as you put it. The FA in conjunction with the Met will agree a security plan for the FA cup final which will encompass allocations and and decide which end of the ground. They also give 10% of tickets to affiliated coaches and clubs and another 10% possibly more go to corporate. I’ve no idea how they allocate dressing rooms nor do I have any interest but the sensible thing would be to give them the side their fans are on. It was only recently that they actually looked to increase competing club’s allocations and clubs used to get even less.

So, to sum up , you’d probably be even worse off under the English system 🤷🏼‍♂️

Always enjoyed reading your posts Slasher ( including your book 👍)

Not picking an argument here do you really think what the police made the St Mirren supporters do that day was acceptable?

Hi Jim. Thanks for the kind words, I appreciate them and no of course I don’t think that is fair. No reasonable person would. However you did mention Police Scotland’s involvement and I think we can all agree that they do as little as possible to facilitate a good match day experience for fans.

Listen, I’m not bothered about the whole ‘ends’ thing. It wouldn’t bother me in the slightest if we were moved to the west to accommodate a support from Edinburgh or wherever, even though logistically I would be coming from the same side of the country. What I would say about it is that if you walked into one of the committee rooms at Hampden with a list of grievances and that and something about dressing rooms is at the top of your list, then you’re not thinking things through properly and I doubt you would be taken seriously. It comes across as petty and given that some seem to think that the history of it is now irrelevant the debate seems pretty selective in some quarters.

There are far more important issues that all the clubs could be addressing imo and yet this is constantly trotted out as a major factor. The vitriol that is beginning to seep out in the thread is not lost on me either so given that I don’t even have a dog in this particular fight I’ll probably check out of this one from now on. Anyway, thanks for asking a question rather than just having a pop as others do 👍

PS edit to add to Mr Haggis Trap if you read the thread back I have already said Aberdeen have a legitimate complaint here 🤷🏼‍♂️

I think Clark is the best ever Scotland manager however he does make some decisions that appear strange from the outside.

We have had 2 competitive but ultimately meaningless games and he has started Christie then Armstrong. He know what both of these guys can do. They will both be going to Germany. Why not start Ferguson in one of the games?

I wantes Shankland to start tonight but can see the merit in starting Brown however with 25 to go why bring on Dykes instead of Shankland. Like above Dkyes and Adams are on the plane. We now are abit clearer whether Brown can play the role but still no idea about Shankland.

He takes the captain of U21 away from 2 tough away games (Doig) and then doesnt get any minutes. We know Taylors ceiling. We dont know Doigs so wheres the harm in giving him 30 mins in either game.

Personally id rather we lost tonight with Ferguson, Shankland, Brown, Doig and maybe even Doak getting significant gametime than won by playing the guys who we know what they can do.

I also agree with a lot of that apart from the bit about the games being meaningless competitive ones. We could have squeaked into pot 2 tonight which would have been well worth the effort.
On Shankland, he’s definitely going to get the chance in pre Euro friendlies and so will Ferguson and deservedly so. Doig is so far down the pecking order it’s barely worth talking about.
On Doak, I know how desperate Celtic were to keep him but how big a step is it from Liverpool youth team to the Euros? He’s literally made one appearance this season, talk of him even being in the squad unless that changes is ridiculous!

So why not try Doig, you could see Taylor was struggling from the 1st minute.

I don’t know but I trust the manager. I think he’s earned that. You clearly don’t. That’s not to say he can’t be questioned but players who haven’t played or been tested are always better in fans eyes till you see them. Unlike us, the manager gets to see them in training and clearly he didn’t fancy Doig from the start or off the bench 🤷🏼‍♂️

  14. I’m not quite sure why the manager didn’t give a start to either Shankland or Ferguson. I’m left assuming he’s still not seeing enough value in them.

Other than that I’m left thinking Armstrong is a much better option than Christie and Patterson/Taylor at full back will get ye hung! McKenna, I think has played well for us recently, I hope he’s looking for a loan move in January 👍
