We've been convinced by Strachan and to a lesser degree Levein that Rhodes can't play up front on his own and isn't suited to international football. Here's a novel idea, pick him, start him for 3 or 4 games in a row and if he doesn't produce then fair enough. But there's absolutely nothing to lose now.

True, when I started going to Scotland games it was always Wednesday nights. I certainly prefer the Saturday 1500 or 1700 kick off. Sunday nights in particular are a massive pain with public transport not being at full strength.

A few years ago I'd have been dead against a player from the 3rd tier being selected but N Ireland have one at least so I can cope with it.

Well I've never made any comment regarding Armstrong but I don't think Phillips looks interested in playing for Scotland. If you're desperate to discuss Armstrong however he has no caps and Phillips has 4 so in my opinion that's more time in which to judge him.

Not seen much of Cairney but Dorrans looked decent again tonight, I've always rated him but he's been unlucky with injuries and personal problems although I'd rather see him in than the likes of Bridcutt.
