  1. Surely O’Donnell will be nowhere near the squad. He’s had his time. McCrorie playing every week in championship and as a RWB. Max Johnstone playing (albeit not every game) for team challenging at top of Austrian top league

    GK; Gunn, Clark, Gordon

DF- Hanley, Souttar, Porteous, Hendry, McKenna, Robertson, Tierney, Hickey, Ralston

MF-Christie, McGinn, McTominay, McGregor, Gilmour, McLean, Fraser

    FWD-Dykes, Adams, Shankland

That makes 22 which leaves one wildcard.

I would usually say one fewer CB but given the paucity of other options and we need cover for Tierney potentially.

If Hickey doesn't make it then McCrorie. Clarke will probably also take Taylor but I'd rather go 4 ATB than play him.

Given recent injuries, I see no real advantage for us if squad sizes are increased.

Agree. If squad sizes increase to 26, Clarke will simply call on guys who’ve previously been in squads but shouldn’t be going eg Turnbull, Jack (although unlikely to be fit), Cooper rather than call up wild cards such as Conway, Doak, Gauld

The same could be said about Che Adams who only committed himself to play for us once we qualified for Euro 2020. Plus he rejected call ups from us previously under McLeish and in Clarke’s early tenure.

Patterson is definitely out. He’s done his hamstring which is going to require surgery. I like Livramento as a player but he’s said on numerous occasions that he wants to represent England at senior level at some point in his career. So that’s out the window. Looking at the options unless Hickey can make a miraculous return in time (praying that he does🙏🏽🤲🏽), I think it’s probably going to be two players selected out of Ralston/Johnston/McCrorie. Ralston hardly gets a game at Celtic and I was surprised why he didn’t push for a move in January even if it was just on loan to a club that he can get himself regular game time. Johnstone doesn’t get much game time himself and only makes the odd sub appearance for Sturm Graz. McCrorie is the only one that has been playing regularly but I don’t know how he’s been doing at Bristol City.

Don’t know either but he’s been playing every week and as a RWB so must be doing ok. He can also provide cover as a CH and CDM.

Harrison Ashby an outside shout for RB??

Is he getting a game anywhere? I believe he is on loan somewhere but not played much? At least McCrorie is getting a regular game and as I understand it, in the RWB position. I think he’s got to get a shot in the friendlies

On the back of all the Right Back conversation if Hickey and Paterson both out for me would be Ross McCorrie lot of U21 international experience, did well at Aberdeen starting to play first team football in the Championship which is a good level - great age and height

For me would have him over Ralston who hasnt played much and would have the same lack of game time issues as Paterson had last 2 games and Max Johnson from what i read hasn't played as much

Also really frustrating that Calvin Ramseys season long loan at Preston was a disaster as if he had had a great season could have been first choice right back for us this summer but sadly went really badly for whatever reason

Ramsay’s had big injury issues ever since he moved down South. He was recalled from loan to Preston then went on loan to Bolton but not playing, presumably injured

Don’t see why not. He was brought up here and played for our previous youth teams. Isn’t going to be called up by England. Described Scotland as ‘home’ in an interview the other day.

Suppose playing for the African champions is pretty appealing but not any time soon I’d imagine.

Bit weird that we called up than random league 2 Irish under 21 player who didn’t want to play for us but not Dembele.

I see he’s in the 3 nominated for League One young player of the season so must be doing OK

The "Deutschlandticket" für 49 quit is not really an option for travel between Munich - Cologne - Frankfurt. It will take you ages to travel as you have more stop overs and longer ride times. I heard on German radio that they want to offer 30€ tickets each way for ticket holders for fast track trains

Do you know if there is a link to apply for the Deutschland Ticket in English? I could only find it in German. I know it’s possible to translate on iPhone but having the English version would be easier if it exists?

Squad announced and it’s just everyone youd expect

4 keepers and 6 centre halves (and that doesn’t include Tierney). Is that really necessary? Can we not find some forwards from somewhere , even the U21s to at least have a look at them eg Conway

Staying in Augsburg , and wondering whether to head back after the match or stay a couple of hours in Munich.

Trains seem to be filling up and prices have gone up from €10 to €20 on some trains, this will probably double again nearer matchday.

We’ve booked the 01.29 back. There’s a couple just after midnight but with game not finishing until around 11pm they will be difficult to catch

Callum McGregor appears to be out of the friendlies. I'm sure he'll be in the Euros squad, but this could be an opportunity for someone else to stake a claim for a starting position.

Gilmour is a dead cert, but will it be Christie or Ferguson to come in for CalMac? Or will McTominay be pushed back? Or maybe even McLean?

Got to be Christie based on current form and his current club position. McT plays but further up the park. Ferguson surely gets some minutes in these games

Myself and a pal bit the bullet and bought a couple of Germany tickets of Ticombo. Hoping it all goes smoothly but I suppose there’s always going to be a risk. Took out the protection as a fall back just incase.

Same. 10 of us bought from viagogo

He’s a designated player earning 40k a week, like other quality players in the league. It’s not like he’s a standard Vancouver player.

He would have had multiple offers in top European leagues when he left Farense but chose Vancouver. He was already one of the highest rated players outside the big clubs in Portuguese league, a league that’s definitely good enough for our players.

So no, the fact that he plays in Canada isn’t a good indication on how good he is.

Totally agree with this. Can you see clubs in the MLS making the likes of Jacob Brown and Kenny McLean designated players? No chance but I think Gauld has come to the conclusion that he’s never going to get a chance with Scotland whilst Clarke is manager and so he’s decided to sign up for another 3 years in Canada and more than likely will play for Canada in a couple of years. In the meantime he’s living in a great city and earning £2m + a year. Can’t be bad. Can’t be many players around the globe earning that sort of money that have never been capped for their country.

You might find for some meals and a lot of your drinking you won't be cashless. Germany still clings on to using cash far more than most other places in Europe and you'll find some places either not taking card or needing a decent minimum spend before they let you use it.

Aye Munich beer festival last year was cash only amazingly

For all those that have been to tournaments before, what is the best way to go about this these days (mostly cashless I presume).

Is it best to lump everyone on one credit card (trains, hotels, meals and bevvy) and split the bill at the end of tournament, or are there better ways?

We are all there for the same duration.

    Cheers in advance

    Splitwise  is a good app

Adams just scored from an Armstromg Assist

    Ryan Fraser on Fire .....

I’d like to see Fraser in the Euros squad. Gives us something different if Plan A not working.
    Another assist for Armstrong
