    Well that was disappointing....
Assumed Scotland would be pot 2 or pot 3.
So applied for all x6 of the X2 vs X3 (pots A,B,C, etc) group games.
Like everyone else got absolutely nothing.

    We have a ferry booked.

The position in the group is randomly drawn and allocated. It doesn't signify the pot the team was in.

Anyway, I applied for 2 tickets for about 15 games, in varying price categories, and got heehaw.

I should get tickets through the SSC for our games anyway but want to go to as many games as possible when I'm over.

  2. Some of the accommodation in Qatar isn't that much of a rip off. Official accommodation website shows 2 person apartments for $185/night.

I've just been awarded tickets in the ballot for our games vs Iran and USA (if we get there) but was unsuccessful for the England game.

So I'd probably be looking for accommodation for 6 nights. It'll be a fortune but given the fact I've never had the chance to see us at a WC, I'll just have to pay it.

Hibs only allocated 17,500 tickets for the final. I thought Scottish football had moved on from uneven final allocations years ago (albeit occasionally starting with at least the potential for a 50/50 split and that changing if sales don't look to be heading that way)?

Just another one of the in-built advantages the OF enjoy over all the rest of us. Along with their own end & dressing room at Hampden and fans of their club regularly refereeing their games.

I'd sooner Christie was played in place of Adams. If we look at the kind of strikers to cause Israel problems it is the supporting striker. Forrest scored a hat-trick in that role, Fraser scored in that role in the away match in this group and Christie scored against Israel last year in that position. No goals from the centre-forward types.

Plus, let's face it, Adams just isn't very good. Loads of folk still buying the EPL hype on him, despite him doing very little in Scotland games that count.

Pass back to marshall.. Punt it.. They keep ball for fun...Repeat.

I was absolutely furious at Marshall at one point.

At the start of the second half, McGregor came short to give Marshall an easy pass in to the middle of the park. Marshall ignore him and humped it long.

Subsequently the Croatians won the ball and 5 seconds later their striker was clean through on Marshall, who to be fair to him, did well to save.

    Infuriating.

I don't think it's helpful to refer to one of our players as 'that useless Aussie prick.' He plugged a huge gap when he was drafted in. Maybe you would have preferred Oli McBurnie?

I'd doubt Lyndon Dykes reads here tbh.

  7. This is the biggest game since when? It's bigger than Morocco in '98 and Switzerland in '96, both of which needed more thrown just a simple win from us.

I'm So unbelievably excited. And nervous. Nervous more than anything.

    See youse at Hampden!! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

They could've swapped sides during the match for all we know, thus, being touch tight.

They could've went upstairs and started phucking after the game too.

No point just making up things they "could've" done though.

Clarke deserves a knighthood for giving the nation hope again and rewarding the TA and especially the older TA with at least the chance to see us in a tournament again. But this is what we need on Friday

    Marshall

    Patterson Hanley Cooper Robbo

    Fraser McTominay Gilmour Tierney

    McGinn Adams

3-5-2 has served it's purpose to get us here but it's not going to get us the result we need. We don't have the quality to go 1-0 up and then defend for 85mins any more. The difference between then and now is we are in a 3 game ko where if you can win your first game you are almost guaranteed to go through. We haven't. But we've got Gilmour now and he can keep hold of the ball while Fraser,  Adams,  Patterson,  Robbo, Tierney and McGinn can go on darting runs causing mayhem with Mings Stones et al and then create the space and opportunities to get clear chances on goal. Fraser,  Adams,  McGinn have proven they can do that and get winning goals. It also means we can take the heat off the defence by giving England so much to think about and Foden,  Sterling,  Grealish and co won't like tracking back all the time,  it's not their game.

It's daring and not without risk of course but it shows we are brave,  and are willing to risk it with the benefit of youth,  speed,  no fear, energy and perhaps a bit of guile.

Add the squad togetherness by keeping Marshall in goal and we've maybe got a formula that might just see us past the group stage.

Half time changes won't work it has to be from the off.

    What do you think??

I think that team would see us absolutely destroyed.

We'd get over run in the middle of the park with our 2 vs England's 3. Our full-backs would get isolated and taken advantage of vs Foden/Sterling/Sancho/ whoever plays wide for England.

I admire your confidence and ambition but I just don't think it'd work at all.

  10. Bemused by the number of people who want Armstrong dropped. I thought he was our best midfielder by far on Monday.

Id go with the team I wanted to play on Monday:

                          Gordon

           Hendry   Hanley    Tierney

    Forrest.                                  Robertson

          Mctominay  McGregor Armstrong

                        McGinn

                                       Adams

Of course they are. If they haven't figured out how a virus spreads after a year then there is something far wrong.

You can point the finger at me all you like it doesn't change reality

    Everyone knows how viruses spread.

You're the one pointing fingers here and placing yourself on a pedestal, all on the basis of an imaginary scenario you've created. It's not "reality", it's complete fiction.

Yup they will as will the people who decided it would be a good idea.

I personally don 't know what is so difficult about resisting the urge to hug your mate when it might save a life not to.

I don't know what is so difficult about a lot of things that "might save a life" but folk do them every single day.

People who've spent over a year going without things they love aren't to blame for some imaginary scenario that you've just made up in order to allow yourself to feel superior.

Didn't seem to stop them though.

My FB is fully of people hugging and sitting right next to each other in groups larger than they should in pubs and other large groups in the ground not bothering to make any effort to socially distance. These people will lead to hospitalisations and deaths but they seem to think their friends are immune from transmitted Covid.

Yeah. People going to their first football game in over a year will be to blame. Top analysis there.
