  1. I appreciate it and am a fellow fan. I could watch him for hours. I'm a bit of a secret fan though. Always turn it off when wife walks in. I feel daft sitting for ages watching a white man with an Afro talking about happy little trees 🌲 and drawing little cabins in the woods when I have no real interest in painting.
  2. Some players are simply ready at that age. I still remember (probably on Football Focus or something) seeing Pele (himself a 17-year-old debutant) wishing Norman Whiteside luck as he was about to start at 17 years old in the 1982 World Cup. More recently, Rooney and Milner made a big impact in England at 16. Walcott went to the World Cup at 17. If Doak truly has it, get him in.
  3. I still remember the "Oooooooooo" as if it was yesterday. So eerie.
  4. Can't imagine the current good players who have waited patiently for their chance will be too happy. It risks upsetting the balance of what we've achieved with this squad. Everyone knows, and is happy with, the fact that you need to work your way into the squad and then hang about until earning your chance in the team. Parachuting in a "superstar " risks disharmony. Also, from the other point of view, is Harvey Barnes willing to hang around to work for his place. He might well make our squad but does he realise that he'll have to work at dislodging McTominey or McGinn? Will he hang about over the course of several squads without getting a sniff?
  5. It's a foul. Staggered to hear the claims that it's not. He fouls him! People see what they wanna see.
  6. So assured on the ball. And as you say, passing sublime. Ferguson will get the headlines, rightly so, but the match was played at Billy Gilmour pace.
  7. Gilmour running the show. Completely. Outstanding player.
  8. That's me. I want independence with all my heart, have all my adult life, will continue to do so. Referendum knocked the stuffing out of me. Current shenanigans not helping reinvigorate my enthusiasm. Meh, the people weren't interested in 2014, well, not enough of them. Struggling to see, even if I could find the enthusiasm, what could be done to get more doubters on board. We won the argument last time and it wasn't enough.
  9. Who told Jonathan Sutherland that was a good look? Do they not have a fuckin wardrobe department?
  10. Where has it been around? Not in circles I played.
  11. Never heard the term rondo in a football context in my puff. Still confused. Young people should fuck off with their awful terminology
  12. Thing is, it's not a school day, it's not actual learning; it's awful made-up ridiculous patter from young people. A bit of a generalisation but I fear 20 and 30 somethings of today are utterly embarrassing. Beamer new words and awful things to get their middle-class knickers in a twist over. We had proper rebelliousnous in my day. I'm totally becoming like every other generation before me In fearing for the youth of today. Fannies. aaid and phart should be doing likewise rather than clinging on to their trendiness and condoning/encouraging the madness. Long live the oldies.
  13. But what's this "mansplaining" pish? It's not a real thing. If a man is being condescending to a woman, call it out for the patronising, arrogant pish it is. But to give it a generalising, made-up name that means a person who happens to be a man cannot ever criticise a person who happens to be a woman? What is this nonsense? But I'm 51, a man, a married man - Black probably thinks my opinion is worth shit.
  14. Black is (a) young and (b) a lesbian; thus she is above reproach. Nope. Black is (a) an elected MP and (b) talking inflammatory, accusatory, ageist nonsense; thus criticism is warranted. Yep.
  15. Fair enough! Just a silly joke. And I genuinely thought you were (or had been) a civil servant.
  16. No way aaid could build a shed, the civil servant that he is.
  17. I much prefer a longer sock. The trend for ankle socks is not one for me.
  18. Even the TAMB's "most reasonable hun" has to hide his face in public. 🥸
  19. What are your plans now? We're similar, had a decent fixed term deal that expires August that we just kind of fell into. Should we look for another fixed deal or what? I'm useless with financial stuff.
  20. Yeah, absolutely. I see plenty Killie strips. Just noticeable cos my son (who hates football) comes home snd winds me up by saying he loves Rangers. His friends he plays with who stay round about us all go about with the orange monstrosity on. As you say, maybe just a blip of a year group.
