  1. Yeah, I’m a big Messi fan (not a big, messy fan). He’s as electric and magical to watch on the pitch. But Maradona dragged Argentina to the World Cup and a non-top-five Napoli to the Scudetto.
  2. 1. Maradona Huuuuuuge gap 2. you can argue about Messi, Cruyff, Ronaldo (x2), Zidane, van Basten, etc
  3. When you say “am” after a time, you don’t need to add “in the morning”. No being a smart arse, just saving you characters. 👍
  4. Not insane (although my maternal great-grandmother had issues), not blind (though have had a stye that has lingered a few weeks), not thick (honestly), am a Celtic fan. Ah, that must be it. Can't have an opinion as am a Celtic fan. Think Robertson's a very good player. Think Tierney's better. Not much in it.
  5. Cos Tierney's an excellent player and made a really impressive start to his Arsenal career.
  6. Granted its been difficult to gauge due to his injury problems, but I think Tierney is a bit better than Robertson. And I'm not insane.
  7. This. I can't stand him but he was a very good player. I'd say definitely better than Scholes. The rewriting of Scholes is weird, and lots of people are jumping on the bandwagon. He wasn't considered world class at the time.
  8. I still don’t know what shower gel is for; is it for your hair instead of shampoo, or your body instead of soap?
  9. Heck of a lot of revisionism on this thread re Colin Hendry. He was not some sort of a Beckanbauer player. He wasn’t rubbish. But some comments here suggest he was something he really wasn’t.
  10. Just made it up! Never met you in my puff (although I've known a few dwarves in my time). Just looked like fun. Well done for taking it in good spirits. You may be wee but you have a big heart.
  11. I can confirm Ramy is tiny, having first met him (eventually) as at first he couldn't see over the counter. Think his mate (helper?) eventually lifted him up. Oh, and he has a really high, squeaky voice.
  12. Yeah, sorry. Feeling ill and grumpy. And can’t stand renaming of chocolate bars. I apologise profusely. weird, only things you can do profusely are apologise or sweat.
  13. Any input from Kilmarnock-based Tambers or those with Kilmarnock connections appreciated. with no previous connections to the town, wife and I moved to Knockentiber 7 years ago. We like it but are moving to bigger house. Five year old goes to Crosshouse Primary which is a good wee school. Put an offer in on house behind Gargieston which is nice enough but not perfect. We’re committed to a viewing last night so went anyway and loved it. But it’s in Crookedholm and know nothing about the area. anyone know Crookedholm or Hurlford area? Schools wise? Anything else? Sorry for Mumsnet type message but still better than crap you get from certain posters!
  14. Agreed, it is quite a distressing story. Here's a further word of caution...don't read the Mr Men spin-off book Mr Greedy and the Gingerbread Man. Similar plot but the ending is horrific as the fella is eaten bit by bit by Mr Greedy but is still completely conscious throughout .
  15. No-one else playing? I also like the Dipper and all three of our local woodpecker species.
  16. Yeah, some of the language towards him disturbs me. Kinda re-emphasises the fact there are an increasing number of knobs now following Scotland.
  17. On the contrary, eating several times a day is more 'natural' than, not just fasting, but eating three big set meals a day. Breakfast, lunch (dinner), tea (dinner) - that whole can of worms again! - is a relatively recent thing and not necessarily in our best interests. Eating five or six smaller and healthier portions is certainly my ideal and makes me my healthiest.
  18. I'm with Huddersfield on this. It sounds crazy to deliberately deprive yourself of food for an extended period. And anti-evolutionary, in the sense we wouldn't be here, like this, today if we did such crazy shit in the past.
  19. Fair doos, not gonna argue with facts. Surprised (and disappointed) in Kilmarnock. Genuinely never seen it and I live 5 mins from the town (since 2012) and venture in all the time. Also disappointed in Hurlford as I wrote a local history on the place and have a soft spot for it. Less surprised at Drongan, Cumnock, Auchinleck etc.
  20. I don't see them, chief. Not to say they don't exist right enough. I live in East Ayrshire and not seen one of them in years. Dark Ayrshire is dark, dark Lanarkshire is dark. But you can go about your life in most places without seeing the smelly bsstards.
  21. Not sure of tone of your post, i.e. if entirely serious or not, so apologies if I'm getting whooshed. But...No. this not true. Wouldn't want the northern and eastern contingent getting the false impression that everywhere in west central Scotland is like this. Just not the case. Parts of Glasgow, parts of (mostly north) Ayrshire, larger parts of Lanarkshire and a few others.
  22. Just me who thinks this scapegoating of O'Donnell is a bit bandwagonesque? Everyone now jumping on the idea that he's simply not good enough, woeful even. I was at the game and, yeah, he wasn't great. But the whole team were poor. The other full-back was equally as bad and not one person would suggest he isn't good enough. I think we can do better than O'Donnell at RB but not right now. It seems like a witch hunt when he, and the rest, need support. He'll probably get booed now because everyone is getting in a frenzy about needing someone to blame. I hope we have better options at RB soon, as I hope we have better options at centre forward and centre midfield and goalie. But O'Donnell is a decent player who has achieved much at club level, consistently playing well for the third best team in the country last season. I'd say back off and give the lad a chance.
