It's a real tough one but think it would have to be a defender. Tierney is obviously undroppable, Gallagher is also a deserving cert. I would also include Hanley, he is fully fit & playing well lately, he is also right footed which gives the option of using McTominay elsewhere . So it's a toss up between our 2 left footed current 2nd choice central defenders. I read fans forums from time to time & unless his form has dipped the last couple of weeks Mckenna has been quite impressive since joining Forest.  Even though Leeds are a far superior side playing at a higher level for me Cooper Club captain or not has yet to prove himself capable of holding his own at epl level to stay in the squad.

So after much deliberation if the euros where this month it's your squad minus Cooper for Armstrong.

The good news is we've 6 months + to chat & no doubt change our minds numerous times 😁

Does anyone really think we’re not gonna suffer two or three heartbreaking injuries in the weeks and months before the finals? It’ll happen. Paterson will still be in the squad as we scramble for players come June. 🤫

Get away with your negativity Duncan . Its Christmas !  🎄🧑🎄🎅

People can choose to decorate their tree whatever way they like even if if is boring and symmetrical. Its not boring to them and not everybody has mementoes of Christmas past.

Plus,  I thought you didnt like wacky?  😁

My tree has baubles made from  CD’s with bits of bright paper glued on them when my kids were young, but not everyone has kids or things like that as mementos. I have a wee bear decoration that my youngest daughter used to play with when she was young. She used to take it off the tree and make up wee stories , there are some tiny plastic angels that she would use too. She moves out the house and into her first flat next month and I am putting them in her stocking for her to take for her own tree next year.

Sorry , went on a bit of a nostalgic ramble there 🙄

    C’mon , get your tree up  !

Didn’t think I was being negative. I was sticking up for someone’s disordered tree that was getting laughed at! I think messy ones are the best, as can be seen by ours. Incidentally, the drunk fairy at the top was going to be replaced this year but the star we got was too heavy, so she’s back.

Isn’t the whole point for it to be bright and colourful and with personal, meaningful mementoes of Christmases past? Ours is always a bit riotous and disordered. People with perfectly symmetrically decorated trees and awful bland things that look like they’ve been done by an interior designer are for the watching. I salute whoever did this.

Five Germans in an Audi Quattro arrive at the Italian border.
The Italian Customs agent stops them and tells them: "It'sa illegala to putta 5 people in a Quattro."
"Vot do you mean it'z illegal?" asks the German driver.
"Quattro meansa four" replies the Italian official.
"Qvattro is just ze name of ze automobile", the Germans retort unbelievingly. "Look at ze papers: zis car is designt to kerry 5 persons."
"You can'ta pulla thata one on me!", replies the Italian customs agent. "Quattro meansa four. You hava fivea people ina your car and you are thereforea breaking the law."
The German driver replies angrily, "You idiot! Call your zupervisor over, I vant to speak to somevone viz more intelligence!"
"Sorry", responds the Italian official, "he can'ta come. He'sa busy with a 2 guys in a Fiat Uno.

Nobody gives a flying fuck what you've previously done with your shitey life.

As is the case most of the the time, the proper England fans tend to be awright. Once again it's mainly the media. One of the best ever football player has died, but just about every news report just goes on about that one game. It's as if they think Maradona never did anything else. That jug eared clown is one of the worst.

I agree the English media are lacking class in general with their continual mention of Hand of God. However, I thought Lineker’s (assuming that’s who the jug-eared clown is) was heartfelt and touching. Granted it was just a clip of it I saw on Twitter but he seemed to have genuine affection for DM. Said he wanted to applaud his other goal that day but knew if he did he’d be crucified by the fans!

I'm sure there are no issues with the Black Lives Matter initiative but thinking if mibbies the TA could do something to recognize Marcus Rashford's work this year. Me thinks it would really get under the skin of a good portion of their support as well as recognizing the lads work ... I am ready to be carpeted for extending credit to a player from  the one nation we don't indulge.

    Any thoughts?

I like the idea. He deserves credit for his work.

That could be a good laugh. Especially if we ask them to send the photos in when they are half cut .

A couple of months ago we had a short quiz at the end of the day and one part of the quiz was to send in a picture of your fridge , and we had to guess whose fridge it was. It was actually good fun, it was surprising how wrong we all were. No one got mine because there was no wine in it. But thats because my wine has a fridge of its own 😁

Funnily enough ( and probably the reason I got roped into this) is because I organise a monthly bulletin that goes out to the team where 5 people are chosen to answer 5 questions about themselves. I ask 3 members of staff from my dept and also  2 ‘guest’ members from the wider organisation.

Questions are like ‘ name your 5 favourite places’ , what 4 people , dead or alive, would you have for dinner, what are your 3 favourite bands, what 2 people would you haunt after your death, what song or piece of music describes your mood today ?
It is a really good way to get to know people a bit better as you say.
I am actually making next months a competition. I am mixing up everybody's answers and the staff need to guess who actually answered what.

No offence. I don’t know you but you’re a good contributor on here. But, by jeez, that’s everything I hate about offices. And thank f I now work from home with no wacky colleagues, or in fact anybody I need to talk to. Maybe (definitely) I’m a miserable sod though. 🥳

That is what the system was designed for. They wanted to make sure that League A teams get a second chance in case they fucked up in their qualifying group.

Hah! The idiots. In doing so, they succeeded in giving diddies like us the opportunity to qualify. Their plan backfired.

McGinn does play deeper for Villa.

I don’t think that works so well for us. Lack of balance. I like (generally) what McGregor and Jack do. And Gilmore will hopefully bring better quality in there. I think McGinn gets punished more when losing the ball in that position at international level.

Fraser has to come back in but  Christie and McGinn are equally key and and all 3 should be in every first team. If you had to drop someone it would not be either of those ever.

Maybe McGregor first and he's someone who I rate also but not ahead of Christie or McGinn.

Next in line I'd have Armstrong ahead of guys like Forrest etc.

As usual we have quite a few very good midfielders but not enough strength in defence (although that's improving) and strikers.

You can’t play all three in the same team though. McGinn is not effective when he drops back. He plays the advanced midfield role, or Armstrong. Christie and Fraser are fighting for the supporting role. Right now Christie in possession as he’s played well.

Have to agree, we don't have many goalscorers in our squad and Griffiths needs to get himself back fit before he can really make an impact.

I like Griffiths. But can you imagine the outrage if McBurnie fluffed that chance the way he did?

Belarus and (North) Macedonia are favourites to win their groups and will therefore have gone from D to C to B.

Finland and Hungary still could follow our route from C to B to A.

Thanks. That’s a good effort. Good on Finland. I always think of them as minnows as they were in my youth but they’ve had strong teams recently. And good to see Hungary gradually getting back up there.
