  1. 😂 and here is me thinking he could go not go further down in my estimation .
  2. I cannot believe he is only 52 . Wtf. I thought he was born in the 1800’s.
  3. Its his flippant attitude. ‘ if the pope had popped in briefly’ , like its a big bloody joke.
  4. He gets away with fookin murder, people have been hounded out their jobs for a lot less. Reece Mogg on the subject. Another arrogant tosser.
  5. Result ! 👍 At 500 quid though even AC would have struggled to reject your claim. But thats great news and you will now feel some justification in taking out the warranty.
  6. 😂 you are far too obvious, I was perhaps thinking more of Orraloon or maybe even Grim Jim. Posting all his heavy metal stuff on ‘This Board Needs Tunes’ to throw us off the track.
  7. Nothing is out of the question. It’s quite possible that any one of us could in fact be Nicola Sturgeon on here posting absolute shite every day. Mental yes, but definitely not out of the question . And personal wrong doings don’t seem to have affected the job prospects of the donkey that is in No10 . It would be a set back for independence if she was to have some deep dark dodgy secret , but there are loads of people who dont like her anyway , yourself included. Someone else would take her place. Long term, the establishment are going to have to do more than tarnish Nicola Sturgeons reputation to stop the independence movement.
  8. My husband is in the motor industry and thinks it is unlikely this will be covered. They will wriggle out of it as ‘wear and tear’, if indeed it is covered at all. He has few positive words to say about AC. They are fine until something goes wrong , but it often goes wrong.
  9. He most definitely is having a pop at the government. Not saying he is wrong but he is having a pop. ‘’You cannot separate the catastrophic failure of the Scottish penal system – Scotland has the highest jail population per capita in all of Western Europe – from the catastrophic failure of drugs policy in Scotland. ‘’ ‘’The toilet had no seat. This was not an accident – I was not permitted a toilet seat, even if I provided it myself. It was a normal UK style toilet, designed to be used with a seat, with the two holes for the seat fixing, and a narrow porcelain rim.’’ ‘’A narrow bed ran down one wall. I came to realise that prison in Scotland still includes an element of corporal punishment, in that the prisoner is very deliberately made physically uncomfortable. Not having a toilet seat is part of this, and so is the bed. ‘’ ‘’It is emblematic of the extraordinary lack of intellectual consistency in the Scottish prisons system that cells are equipped with these Victorian punishment beds ‘’ ‘’But I recommend a spell in Saughton jail to any other middle class person who, like myself, was foolish enough to believe that Scotland is a socially progressive country.’’ ‘’The overcrowding of our prisons is a symptom not just of failed justice and penal policy, but of fundamentally flawed economic, social and educational systems.’’ I didn't read anything in his blog about prison that surprised me in the least, prisons are somewhere you are not supposed to want to return to. Though as I said before, his incarceration in this particular prison does not seem to fit the crime. The saddest thing in all of this is that many people dont seem to mind going back, which for me is a far bigger problem than the state of prisons. How bad does your life outside need to be to want to return to a 12x8 cell and live in those conditions ? This is not a problem specific to Scotland, but there is no doubt whatsoever that the spiralling drug’s problem here is making the situation much worse. You could make prisons more comfortable and rehabilitate prisoners inside, but if nothing has changed on the outside they are going to be back to square one when they come out. The drugs problem IS the responsibility of the SG and they are failing miserably on this. Murray is correct in that regard.
  10. Just got round to reading this, thanks. I am not really sure what he was expecting prison to be like , and he hasn’t really said anything new. Most folk know that prison tends to be full of repeat offenders, many of whom have drink or drug problems, that drugs are rife and we have social inequality. Its not good, but this situation is not just specific to Scotland, sounds like he is just using the blog to have a pop at the SG. I dont blame him for being pissed off right enough, his crime was hardly that of a dangerous offender. Why was he not placed in an open prison, was it shortage of places available ? Or is he suggesting something more sinister ? I have not really been keeping up with this saga.
  11. I registered to this website a couple of months ago. I am not a proper runner so I like this guys blog as he isnt too serious , one of my work colleagues knows him. He might actually be somone on here 😁 Posting the link in case anyone is interested. He started it in November so its worth going back and reading the blog chronologically.. https://jamiecurrie.substack.com/?utm_campaign=pub&utm_medium=web
  12. I dont know anyone who was put out to any great degree at New Year because of the hospitality restrictions. Apart from the hospitality industry of course, but the thread is about people travelling to England to seek out a party. Anyone I know who had planned on celebrating were still able to celebrate in lodges , restaurants, their own homes with friends etc . It was like night and day from last year. The main thing causing restrictions was people testing positive for Covid and having to isolate. Exaggerated media pish as usual.
  13. You are clearly supposed to dislike the control freak fiance , there is not one redeeming quality about him, but I could not warm to the girl either. I just found my shoulders tightening and my fingers going into a claw like grasp whenever she had a scene , I dont know why she irritated me so much. I needed to watch an episode of Gone Fishing to lower my blood pressure after it 😁 It seems a bit like a poor mans Fargo.
  14. Managed 2 episodes and gave up. Thought Jamie Dornan was pretty good but couldn’t tolerate the trainee police woman or her fiance a minute longer 🙄
  15. Yes, I agree, I actually said the same thing the other day. It was just a bit different from what I was expecting. The trailer had a lot of humour which suggested it was just a sort of funny satirical film like Airplane. But it was actually a bit deeper than that. I didn’t check the time during it which is a good indicator of whether it was worth watching or not.
  16. 47 ????? Check you Mr Popular 😁 Unless of course they are all from Rossy offering a square go. Thats probably why we are having a bit of a hiatus from Ramys selfies, you are hogging the bandwidth for the entire board . You are still no accepting messages btw.
  17. 😂 I have no idea why you suspect I am not a politician, nope, no idea at all 😊 I might vote for you. As far as TAMBERS go I would definitely not put you in the John O’Loony gang territory . Though I occasionally think you could be another reincarnation of Chripper so may need to consider my options before diving in . I know absolutely fook all about anything really so my opinions dont really matter that much . I dont have a huge amount of sympathy in general for politicians but in my view these folk fall into the ‘jack of all trades’ category, most of the time they just need to deal with the general day to day running of the country, which involves being moderately proficient in a variety of areas. They are no better qualified at dealing with a pandemic than the next guy , and we can only vote for those willing to stick their head above the parapet. Its easy for folk to pick faults or say they can do better when they know fine well they will never need to. The government need to rely on the advice of various experts , many of whom are contradicting each other. I also know there are a number of people out there who get paid as much money as senior politicians do , for moving figures around spreadsheets , which brings things back into perspective for me too. Anyway, I know you know all this , I am only rambling on at 9.30 am on a miserable Monday morning as I made my way to work thinking I was working only to find out its a holiday for 1 Jan 😫
  18. William Roache and Mel B . FFS. Canny even remember which one she is.
  19. Watched it last night. Wouldnt rave about it but it was ok , funny in parts, probably worth watching.
  20. Another tree ! Heuch Heuch Hooray ! Love the picture too. If you are keeping your tree up till next weekend I am too 😊
  21. Absolutely. The BBC dont give a fook so long as they are creating a stooshie. For me , the girls going to Carlisle is pretty unremarkable, but I do think its important to highlight the National broadcaster’s poor judgment by publishing this. I do give a fuck about that. ps tried sending you a pm the other day but got message saying you weren’t accepting messages. Inbox must be full.
  22. Who knows why they went but if it was long term pre arranged or to meet friends, rather than to just chase a party no matter what the government advice was I will make an appointment to get my eyebrows chiselled first thing tomorrow morning 😊 Doesn’t really matter IMO , Covid has killed tens of thousands of people and continues to do so, its not funny. Substitute the ‘word’ covid with other illnesses that kill large numbers of people and it doesn’t sound that funny. It was brave of you to dive in on this thread , it would have been much easier to stick up a pic of your xmas tree 😊Stick around, we could do with more posters , different opinions matter.
  23. Its their attitude. In no decent persons eyes can it be acceptable to talk about their friends all having covid, and laughing, then boasting about it being even better to travel as its against the government advice. To think that is wrong is not being high and mighty, its being respectful . They dont come across as neds and they dont look really drunk, which tbh makes it worse. Pubs are opened everywhere in Glasgow, to travel to Carlisle is something only people trying to make a point would do, exhibitionists are everywhere these days. The real culprits IMO however are the BBC . They are desperate for reaction and seem to have succeeded.
