    New jersey

Those yellow stripes did absolutely nothing for McGinns ‘ strong arse’. I wonder if that is why he was not up to his usual standard, was maybe thinking ‘ does my arse look big in these ‘ .
  2. 😂😂 😱, god, even the new top has to be an improvement on that. For the benefit of Rolling Hills most recent reincarnation , I have yet to decide on my attire but safe to say I will most certainly be packing my iron ….
  3. I agree. Driving home from work on Thursday the radio phone in was on and the Under 21s were playing Kazakstan. Someone then mentioned that it was 5 years to the day that the senior team got beat 3-0 by them. I remember I was in Verona travelling to the San Marino game, I watching it on my phone, it was utterly horrific . People need to remember how far the team has come since then , but we are still not playing at the level of the top teams on a consistent basis. I think some supporters get carried away. We gave a high tempo performance for a large part last night, that consistency is an improvement in itself . The multiple substitutions was always going to upset things. We just dont have the depth in squad that the top teams have and we have no prolific strikers. 4-0 is hard to take as it absolutely did not reflect the performance over 90 mins.
  4. Watching the game in the local pub last night and a snotty wee fanny, with the worst hair cut ever, sitting at the next table bragging to his pals near the end of the game , quote : ‘’ I am getting 2 points for this. I am harvesting , harvesting ! ‘’, bringing his arms together like he is sweeping up the points. He was barely even watching the match . After 2 large glasses of wine I really had to stop myself from pouring his pint over his ridiculous haircut. So much for the new system making harvesting more difficult.
  5. If , on Tuesday , we play like we did the first hour last night I can see us win by the same scoreline we were beaten last night . I think the team will feel they have something to prove and if they can create similar chances we will score goals. At the same time, I hope this is not one of those posts that doesn’t age well.
  6. Folk are understandably pissed off. For a fair bit of that game we more than held our own. At the end of the day it doesn’t matter how shit the defence is, if we dont convert chances like we had tonight we are still not going to win. That is our real problem because the opportunities are there.
  7. As soon as the subs were made I predicted a shambles. I cannot ever remember Scotland making numerous substitutions and things turning around. Even when we have been comfortably up in games it has sometimes ended up squeaky bum time after subbing a few players. That isnt the reason we lost 4-0 though, we had plenty chances and didn’t take them. That is our real problem.
  8. News Headline’s everywhere about the staggeringly high student debt. Of course its all bundled under ‘ UK student debt’ . Dont expect any article to tell you the average student debt is 3 times higher in England than Scotland .
  9. 🙂 one doesn’t need to be a leftie to disagree with Thatcher, or you! 😏
  10. Dont know about shitting but I almost wet myself reading Dirty Sanchez story 😂 To save anyone the bother of looking…
  11. On your first point, this ‘career politician’ thing sticks in ma craw a bit. What exactly is wrong with choosing politics as a career? ( i know you are not suggesting there is, just that others might) . In the interview I posted he talks about there being an expectation from his parents that he would follow the typical lawyer/ accountant/ or other professions usually associated with ‘persons of colour’ , but he loved politics and had a real passion for it so took that at University. His parents ( his mum in particular ) was unhappy due to the racism he may face. He wasnt having a ‘poor me’ moan, was just being honest. I have absolutely no problem with people who have a passion for politics not having any experience outwith politics. No one would expect a teacher right out of university to have had experience as a nurse or a policeman to have been a social worker. All careers are basically learned ‘on the job’ . And he has had some big jobs within government before FM, regardless of how anyone feels he performed . There are of course politicians who do give the term ‘ career politician’ valid criticism , but I don’t think he is one of them. The interview is fairly interesting, it concentrates on his upbringing and family as much as politics. He does mention how being an MSP or MP does not automatically make you an expert on things. He rightly says that within that role you need to take advice from experts and make a informed decision. It’s unlikely a transport minister will have been CEO of Abelio for example. Maybe that SHOULD be the criteria for entering politics, to only be in a post if you have had experience in that sector . But it would mean a radical change of the entire political set up and that is not going to happen anytime soon. Sorry that was a bit of a ramble 🙄 And despite feeling some warmth towards him I agree with all your other points. On the FM/ party leader suggestion, that could work. Apart from them both being the best there is at the moment, it’s perhaps also better to have 2 people in high profile positions as chances are if the public doesn’t like one they might like the other.
  12. Croatia is binned. A game too much for us pensioners 😊 !
  13. Of course its a legitimate question. I think someone might have answered the situation for kids on some thread, but am not certain unfortunately. The point i was making is that they were previously telling people that ticket’s bought by SSC members need to be used only by them, presumably because you get a point for a home game, and now there seems to be a transfer ability. Unless I have missed a communication that explains what happens to points when a ticket is transferred then it seems counter productive.
  14. A city break of mine to Wroclaw got cancelled during covid. I have still not been so really hope it’s there too.
  15. Pretty surprised at this news. https://news.sky.com/story/amp/hundreds-of-jobs-at-risk-as-ted-baker-calls-in-administrators-13097959
  16. I know its been said a million times but we really do have a right downer on ourselves as a country. I was at the dentist yesterday and the dentist and her assistant were talking about St Patricks day as there was something on the radio about it . The assistant then said ‘ I think Scotland were playing Ireland at rugby at the weekend’. The dentist said ‘ what was the score’ . The assistant said ‘ I don’t know but we probably lost’. They both clearly knew nothing about rugby but the automatic assumption was that we would lose. It’s a small thing but absolutely reflects the whole Scottish attitude. I know we did get beat but thats not the point ! 😆
  17. To hell with England winning the Euros, just think the boost to independence when Scotland win it 💪 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 I might even buy the new jersey 😊
  18. I think this is what constantly gets missed despite Scotland already having a far more democratic voting system than England. Its amazing the number of people who do not know how Scottish elections work. An independent Scotland is NOT going to be a constant one party state .
  19. I think that is a pretty risky strategy, the more seats Labour get in Scotland the more likely Labour will get a majority. I could perhaps understand it if the polls were much tighter and in Tories favour .
  20. I think they may be avoiding questions about SSC member ticket transfer/points, I cant see why they would not reply otherwise. I am not quite sure how the ticket transfer/ points system works. Surely they cant be openly allowing SSC members to transfer tickets without some sort of control over the points. I emailed them the day after the ticket package went on sale with a totally non urgent query about how to access the site for future ticket sales ( I seemed to have a different set up from everyone else when I booked my tickets and was concerned that going forward it may cause me problems). My question could have been answered weeks later , I was in no rush whatsoever for the reply as I had managed to get tickets for this campaign . I got a response 2 hours later.
  21. The fact its coming in on 1 April does not help the ‘stupidity ‘ angle.
  22. The problem for the SNP IMO is there is not one, well rounded MP or MSP , that can lead the party. I dont think Humza has the competency to be FM, I think Stephen Flynn speaks very well but can be a bit too arrogant at times. That doesn’t bother me but it could bother others. I think Kate Forbes probably has the competency but there is something about her delivery that could grate with people. These problems dont stop politicians at WM getting selected, in a constant 2 horse race the bar doesn’t need to be set that high, and they do not have a small matter of independence clouding judgement . The time it is taking for the police investigation is an utter joke. Must be coming up for 3 years now. There is no good outcome. The SNP will either be slaughtered or there will not be enough evidence which leaves a lingering smell, even if they are cleared the focus will be put on the cost of the investigation to the electorate.
