That's fair enough but if they've abandoned the points system they should let people know. As they seem incapable of managing the points system maybe they should have a simple ballot for all going forward. See if that's within their competence.

Really? I didn't know that, I've never seen any communications from the SSC on the criteria of waiting lists. How were told this is the case? This from the email sent to me from the SSC and it suggests to me the waiting list are based on points "We will be distributing the cancelled tickets to members that are on 5 points and are on our waiting list". There must be many members out there that didn't know the waiting lists are open to all
-
Someone on five points should have got it before now but that's not the way the SSC works :). It might be this guy goes up to 5 points and 5 pointer like me goes down to 4 for the next game. Don't really blame the guy but he should never have been allowed on the waiting list first place.

The ticket pick up over there doesn't stop harvesting, they've been having pick ups for what 15 years, probably more, and it still goes on. it's an excuse for a jolly at our expense, The only way it would work is 100% pick up which is not practical in most cases. However it is practical when there is a small allocation, like Slovakia and it is with small allocations (with low ticket prices) where harvesting is a bigger problem. If the SSC are serious about dealing with harvesting why are disregarding they disregarding the points system themselves?

I asked today if it was true that tickets were being handed out to those on less than five points (grumpy 5 pointer who wasn't allowed on the waiting list). Never got a straight answer, certainly no denial. A very simple thing to get so wrong if the stories are true. They are paid a premium for a professional service so there has to be accountability. If tickets are being distributed to 5 pointers only, fine, although the waiting list could have been handled better. If this is not the case it makes a mockery out of the whole points system.

I am the same. Why not put all 5 pointers on the waiting who ask? Yes give priority to those who ask first but allowing some 5 pointers on a waiting list and then telling others they can't get on just gets folks backs up.

Proposed French Rail Strike

Never thought of that. I come into Nord on Eurostar so worst case scenario is a walk of 1hr 10mins. Hopefully it won't come to that, I'm sure I'll get on train eventually. More critical coming back as a cancelled or late train could mean a missed flight (if it's flying :)) -
Proposed French Rail Strike
Bertie Big Bobble replied to Bertie Big Bobble's topic in France v Scotland
Possibly, France 24 say it is expected that 40% of TGV and two thirds of other services will be cancelled. -
It looks as if the rail strike is going ahead meaning possible train disruptions and cancellations between Paris and Metz. For anybody wanting a back up Megabus do that route for £5 - £10 each way

Denmark - buses from Dundee / Perth area?
Bertie Big Bobble replied to Padre Andrew's topic in Scotland Home Games
Another looking for a bus from Auchterarder/Stirling if any passing? -
I see I'm not alone. I'm 8 points as well and completely forgot about renewals until today and not going bother. My main issue is, someone on here has said there are 35k members, paying on average £40 a pop equals £1.4million. Where does this money go? Should be £10 for kids and £25 for adults which is reasonable and they still have enough in the slush fund for their overseas jollies

Air Baltic Via Riga
Bertie Big Bobble replied to Willie Miller's tache's topic in Georgia v Scotland
Are you flying Copenhagen - Riga-Tblisi with Baltic Air Braveheart? I thought 35 min was tight but it's a single booking all with Baltic so must be ok. -
Good luck with this St Midden, Hats off to you for giving it a go

Is Anyone Else Staying In Quarteria?
Bertie Big Bobble replied to Jamie Swankie's topic in Gibraltar v Scotland
Two of us in the Dom Jose so would be interested in a transfer, Cheers -
You've got to feel for WGS and the boys. This should be a sell-out but they are being undermined by SFA pricing. I'm in two minds, a full house would be great for the team but would probably mean the SFA increasing pricing again.

Does anyone know if the SSC sld out our allocation? The website is down just now.

Silent Protest At Georgia Match?
Bertie Big Bobble replied to dougiemacfarlanearran's topic in TA specific
FoS must be out, at least for the time being. Play something else if they have to. Not got much enthusiasm for football at the moment but I expect it'll pass. Maybe not be an issue for much longer as this could the green light for a UK team. -
These are tickets that returned because of cancellations so It's worth giving them a call. If you're travelling anyway leave your number with them even if they don't have any at the moment and ask them to get in touch if tickets become available. You can always try turning up at the last pick session to see if there are any uncollected. Just make it easy for them to re-allocate if there are spares at the last minute. Remember to take your SSC card though. The German FA are still selling tickets but these things are worth trying if you want to get the point.
