  1. Any idea what provisions are to be made for those without smart phones? Website mentioned it would be announced in due course.
  2. I follow Everton and have watched most of the games he has played. Yes, he gets caught out of position sometimes but one on one he is pretty good. Certainly improved from when he was at rangers Importantly he has mostly played in a 4 with Everton. At wingback for Scotland with a defender behind him, it's a much more suitable role for his style of play.
  3. I think Patterson is better defensively than people give him credit for, although far from the finished article. Attacking wise, at wing back I think he offers more than Hickey who I'm a big fan of. I'd like to see them both play in a friendly with Hickey right of a 3.
  4. The bench needs to be very good too. 3 huge games in 9 days. I'd expect us to make at least 4 subs a game. Most of those will be the front 5. We shouldn't really be playing the same 11 every game. The top teams never do that.
  5. No sure how much you can rely on the accuracy of that report, seems quite specific for what will be a long term injury. I think it is wait and see job.
  6. Correct. Scotland would have been a tempting option for him to go to a tournament and he knocked it back. And comments suggest he has closed the door on it so good on him for being decisive.
  7. Doesn't sound like Barnes will be switching allegiances any time soon. https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/harvey-barnes-shares-anthony-gordons-28757334?utm_source=linkCopy&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=sharebar
  8. Manager said he had been ill, he looked off the pace tbf.
  9. Livramento is a class player and can play multiple positions. I'm certain him and Anthony Gordon would be in the squad if they switched allegiance. I'd be very surprised if they haven't already been approached indirectly and I'm sure they will be if not in the next in the next England squad which they probably won't be. Livramento has played every age level for England and is still eligible at U-21, he will expect to have an international career with them and unless he has a particular draw to another country will not commit elsewhere for some time yet imo. Gordon I would say is slightly different, he is 23 and is being overlooked for England despite being in excellent club form which will hurt. He is very unlikely to make the England Euro squad with players like Grealish, Rashford, Foden, Palmer and Bowen all ahead of him based on previous squads. I'm sure if he bides his time, he will get his chance but if I was Clarke and Carver I would be testing his loyalty and basically guaranteeing him the number 9 jersey in the euros and see what the reaction is. In an ideal world you don't want to be looking to convince players to play for Scotland but you need to be realistic and present a proposal to someone to allow them make a decision. Also our need for a striker is such that I'd suggest this kind of approach is forgivable and worth the gamble, particularly with a view to the long term.
  10. He is quoted as saying it is 'his dream to play for England.'
  11. Harvesting of points is not an issue now that away pick-up imseems to be 100%. I'm fairly sure if you had been to every home game for more than one season, you had enough points to get some tickets for the Euros. That will be the same again now the world cup if we get there with even bigger stadiums and higher costs of travel. OK, if you want tickets for away nations league or qualifiers, you will need to go to an away friendly with a low threshold but that's inevitable to get above others who have been to one or no away games. There will be no effective way of SSC verifying the identities of those entering hampden and they probably don't want one as it would impact sales if tickets were genuinely non-transferable.
  12. I'd say the only at-risk names on the list would be Kelly, Hanley, McLean, Fraser. Personally, I'd go for Gordon, Mckenna, Cairney, Barnes (assuming he declares). I'd be very suprised if anyone else broke into the squad.
  13. This will be interesting. They can't be seen to be giving points if you don't attend but won't want the stadium to be half empty. Do they say you can give away your ticket but you don't get a point? Common sense should mean home game points are for purchase, away is for attendance and this allows people to give tickets away.
  14. Agree. Croatia and then Ukraine in the WC tactically bent us over before we ditched that one. Tbf to Clarke he sorted it out by going 4 at the back in the NL tie. 5-4-1 or 4-5-1 (with wider attacking midfielders) seems the only way to go at the moment.
  15. A bit leftfield but I'd like too see us attempt to get what I believe to be our best 11 players on the park in one of the frendlies and see what happens. Hickey Hendry Tierney Patterson Gilmour Christie Robertson McTominay Mcginn Ferguson Kind of a false nine (hate that phrase) with Ferguson and mcT interchanging. Obvious risks are lack of height at the back and target man up front but all very comfortable on the ball - very fluid formation. Would be tricky for opposition defenders with no one to mark and so many runners from deep.
