  1. You could sell to half the population 😉🤣
  2. We've played England regularly (six times?) over the past decade and none in the decade before, so people have forgotten GSTQ/K was getting booed long before that - and not just against England - and are blaming it on independence/SNP supporters as the early parts of indyref campaign coincided with the first game of the recent six. I'm fairly certain the SFA stopped using GSTQ as our anthem in the 80s because it was getting booed by our own supporters. It's certainly not a new phenomenon.
  3. Sorry, we've all forgotten politics is a one time event and not a process where people have the ability to change their opinions over time. Once a decision has been made, we should all remember there's no chance of changing it at any point in the future and never believe anything should be different from the status quo. 🤔
  4. This a million times. We've seen from the previous Euros and with the women's team: all the media attention goes on to the England games, as opposed to ourselves.
  5. I don't think so. The historical context of the song is primarily what drives the booing, imo - something that a song like 'Jerusalem' doesn't have.
  6. Because booing GSTQ/GSTK only started in 2014? https://www.theguardian.com/football/1999/nov/14/euro2000.sport9 Welcome to the board! 👋
  7. More my point is you can't play the same eleven in both matches and maintain the intensity required - something which we'll probably need to learn to deal with for the Euros (assuming we don't mess up getting there). What we'll have hopefully learned is you'll need to make changes to keep the intensity; we'll need to give some of the 'fringe' players a game against France, like we will in the Euro finals. We've obviously got to throw everything at the Spain game and hopefully secure qualification that day.
  8. You'd think so. I can't see Norway beating Cyprus (away), Spain (home) and us (away) - something that would be required for us to have any chance of not qualifying - and then I'd expect we'd get at worst two points from Spain (away), Georgia (away) and Norway (home). Realistically we've got to be getting four minimum and going for at least six if we're looking at having a successful Euros.
  9. You'd hope we'd've learned something from this - especially when it comes to intensity. I'm more concerned about the France game, especially if we expend a huge amount of energy playing Spain; I think the French are the best European side at the moment - probably another level above England - so we can't make the same mistake again. Hopefully we'll make a few changes for France - give starts to players like Christie, Patterson, etc - assuming a similar side to tonight starts against Spain.
  10. Aye. Especially when you're one behind. It was far too simple for Bellingham to waltz into the box - no-one got close enough to pressure him off the ball, nor looked like they were ever going to make a challenge. Sometimes those little tactical fouls can be helpful: breaks up the play, limits the danger (as you'll have the opportunity to re-organise from the free-kick) and may make your opposition lose focus through frustration. Was it not McGregor who Bellingham walked through for the third? The game passed McGregor by.
  11. That was the big issue today. To have any success against players better than you, you need a level of intensity which simply wasn't there tonight. If we played with the intensity we did for a spell in the second half across the whole game or we have in recent qualifiers, it may have been different tonight. Most of the players didn't seem up for it for whatever reason. In terms of positives: Gunn made a couple of good saves (especially that one from Eze); Christie looked decent once he came on; we looked better with Dykes up top.
  12. Dykes and Christie for Adams and Gilmour. Guessing McTominay will go deeper now.
  13. I'd get Dykes on now - just try something different.
  14. Harry Maguire about to come on for England - I'm guessing Guehi's going off.
  15. This feels like the Euros and the Ukraine play-off all over again: so much excitement, but giving too much respect to our opposition; England are of that level where they'll punish us. The first goal was coming; the second was shocking to concede. We need to show a bit more ambition in the second half.
  16. Great piece of defending there by Porteous.
  17. Tbf, it's hard to tell if they're resting players or making changes because they didn't play too well against Ukraine. Interesting they've put Trippier (or Walker) at LB; I wonder if that could be exploited.
  18. England Ramsdale Walker - Guehi - Dunk - Trippier Bellingham - Rice - Phillips Rashford - Kane - Foden So, their changes are: Pickford -> Ramsdale Chilwell -> Trippier Maguire -> Dunk Henderson -> Phillips Saka -> Foden Maddison -> Rashford
