  1. Can you really name many more? Both sides have had some pretty big scalps in recent times but nothing like going to the second best team in Germany and recording a comfortable win. I'd say the biggest result in modern times is Celtic beating Barca (in their prime) at home 2-1, after that I'd say it's this result.
  2. They played their strongest starting 11 available. If they were treating it like the league cup they'd have played their youngsters and squad players. I'm quite baffled how anyone can look at a full strength (minus injuries) Dortmund team and think they aren't taking it seriously. In the group stages of these competitions these level of teams don't care but once the knockouts start these teams taking it very seriously.
  3. Jack was absolutely phenomenal tonight. His passing range and vision seem to have improved. Seemed to be spotting passes and clipping passes he wouldn't have tried in the past.
  4. Coleman is also nowhere near the player he was, Injuries have absolutely ruined him, which is a shame because in his mid 20s Coleman looked potentially world class. For me he'll be retired or at a lower level in 6-18 months. From what I'd heard Patterson was going to their u23s for 6 months to try and keep fit while concentrating on bulking up in the GYM, he would then take over RB duties in the summer. This was before Rafa got sacked, so that plan may have changed. While Patterson has a large frame he hasn't actually filled out much yet. If he can take this time and bulk up for the start of preseason, while learning mentally from Coleman it could serve him well. He's not long turned 20, it's not like he's 22/23 and struggling for gametime.
  5. It's the only stadium we got permission to use. Firhill was a no and somewhere else the same. Really need to upgrade the training centre for ad boards and what ever else is required for the lowland League.
  6. He's played quite a few b team games and seems to be well thought of. I didn't realise he was only 17.
  7. The team McClelland, Lindsay and McCausland are the non Scots. Lowry and King drop down for the game. Devine and Fraser at fullback are well thought of. McKinnon is having a good season and keep an eye out for Wilson if he comes on.
  8. Rangers u19s facing Sevilla u19s tomorrow on BT Sports 1 at 3pm. Should be a great test for the young lads. I think only 2/3 are non Scots in the rangers team, so plenty of young players to check out.
  9. Jack was by far Rangers best player when he came on. He also done well when he came on a few games ago. I get trying to be cautious with him but it seems like he is ready to be starting again.
  10. I'm sure Morrison went to the performance schools. He was at Rangers before he joined Celtic and I think he stayed at the PS and was the only Celtic player not to go to their school.
  11. Targett is on his way to Newcastle, so it wouldn't surprise me if Villa go bigger for Hickey.
  12. Lowry had a decent game. He faded in and out at times. To be expected of a 18 year old making his first start but showed some impressive touches and moments
  13. 16 year old Ben Doak on the bench for Celtic. He's wanted by Liverpool and a few other clubs.
  14. Anytime I've seen him for the u21s he has looked every bit the youth goalie he is. That's not a bad thing, but he doesn't seem like he will be stepping up anytime soon. He seems quite a few years away from being ready for the full squad. He does seem promising though. Making the bench at 19 for City is very impressive. Steffen was injured but it shows he is highly rated there, when he is the one chosen to step up.
  15. I don't know about now but a lot of clubs were wanting rid of them and for them to be given the money to develop the players themselves. The fact it's already produced 2 national team starters despite the first class only being about 21/22, speaks for itself. Its the SFA though so Christ knows what will happen with it. The fact it's been 7 months and we still haven't replaced Malky Mackay (who was a dreadful appointment) is absolutely shocking.
  16. Lowry has ridiculous levels of technique. He has a lot of work to do on the other aspects of his game but technique wise he is up there with Aribo. Gio and the team obviously like the look of Lowry and gave him a debut over the Irish lad Charlie McCann who has trained a lot with the first team this season and sent Kelly out on loan. On them not starting, it is disappointing but this game also comes on the back of a 3/4 week break. I dislike the Scottish cup game coming right after the break. Instead of giving youngsters chances, you are having to build up fitness and sharpness levels of first team players.
  17. It is very disingenuous to suggest it is mostly due to the performance schools. Especially when you could make the complete opposite argument that the 2 best players from the performance schools by far came through at Rangers. It's a combination of the performance school extra coaching, very good youth coaching at Rangers and natural talent. Rangers completely revamped their youth set up during the Warburton era and spend by far the most on youth development of any club in Scotland. It's an area that has been massively focused on since. I'm sure they've won the u18 league the last 3 years. While that annoyingly hadn't translated to Gerrard giving young players a chance, it's absolutely ridiculous to say it is mostly the performance schools. Leon King is performance school. Rory Wilson is the next big elite level hope after that. I'm not sure if he is PS but he is one to watch out for. He's 15 and has scored about 5 or 6 hatricks at u18 level.
  18. Kane is a bit of a scumbag on the park who gets away with murder due to being England captain. He is by far the worst offender of that not jumping for a headed ball to buy a freekick, which sends the defender head/shoulder first into the ground. Dangerous play by the attacker but they always get the freekick.
  19. He hasn't had any good games for us as a CM. He is a superior player to McGregor but McGregor suits our midfield better and links better with Gilmour than Mctominay does. With a 3 man midfield sometimes it's about finding the best combination and not the best players.
  20. Might have a chance of winning their first European knockout game in close to 20 years.
  21. Man Utd fans will probably still slate him and say how poor he was.
  22. From what I've seen in the u21s he is a lot more raw than both. He has pace, power and seems decent technically. RB is looking very positive compared to the situation we were in just a year ago.
  23. Holding Souttar's arm and going down like he'd been pushed probably doesn't even make Kyogo's diving/overacting highlight reel. Great player but it's happening all the time now.
  24. I thought he was poorish but their whole team was very poor tbf. McLean and Rudd were a lot worse. I think they expect far too much of Gilmour and they talk him down when he isn't at the level they think he should be
