  1. Amen to that. I remember Berti's tour to HK etc, McFadden getting left behind but probably helped his overall development and hopefully will be the same for those who take their chance in the summer
  2. Frustrating if that's so as McLeish could have experimented with him as right wing back
  3. I've got absolutely no doubt that they'll be back in the some form or another. Real scandal is that even this morning BBC were reporting CA as Facebook data scandal when the real issue is their links to the British Government and their undermining of democracy.
  4. Scott Brown - felt at the time we should have got him rather than KT. In fairness to Celtic they at least have brought through some of their own, Tierney, McGregor etc. Any money that we have seems gets blown on has beens on never will be's.
  5. "Club which has greater revenue than rest of league put together wins league" shocker.
  6. Woke up to Five Live and a very gushing Ruth being interviewed by Brian Taylor. Publicity for this and royal baby just rile me, women have babies. It's not news.
  7. Less than glamorous accommodation, being a double agent doesn't pay as well as I thought! Oh well, I'll put that career move on ice.
  8. Just seen the footage of Callum Hawkins, looked brutal. IAAF must change the rules and take decisions about athletes fitness out of their hands, like they do in boxing.
  9. Can cut out the play acting though. Kris Iwelumo was very critical at McBurnie trying to get a fellow professional sent off by simulating that he'd been victim of a headbutt.
  10. It think there's an awful lot of this that we'll never know. The fact that someone like Johnson has been sacked twice due to lying and that we ended up having disastrous consequences due to the war in Iraq based on 'sexed up' intelligence doesn't exactly help the trust issues.
  11. Good bronze for Wightman yesterday in the 1500, at one stage thought he might just pip one of Kenyans for silver. Girls did well in the 4x400 to get a national record, Doyle and Clark are good but shows lack of depth when we have to press an 800m runner in. Maybe we should follow Team England's example and pinch Anguillan athletes who have never lived in England and have no English ancestors!
  12. Hopefully it's a one off but now any time anti Assad forces (aka Islamist terrorists) want a bit of help they know what to do. Unbelievable timing when OPCW inspectors were due to check the site of the alleged gas attack today.
  13. At least back in the 70s and 80s leaflets at the library would give you some advice what to do if WWIII broke out- I remember not being terribly impressed with the hide under your table advice! Most people round me seem more bothered about...well just about anything. Resigned? Impotent? Not bothered?
  14. I'm still not sure that the great British public have got the fairly obvious point he was making.
  15. I see that Tattie has become Scotland's most successful Commonwealth athlete. No disrespect to bowls but 'athlete', is that not pushing it a wee bit?
  16. Anyone know where there's a decent chronology of these events? How long after these submissions did Yulia recover from the deadly military grade nerve agent for which there is no no known antidote?
  17. BBC reporting even more rubbish than usual. Has headline that we beat Norway with three late goals. Talk about sloppy standards! BBC aside good win against the Poles.
  18. Could have mentioned England beach volleyball getting beat by the mighty Vanuatu!
  19. BBC cruel. Bit miffed picking out Beth Goodwin from the Women's netball. The women did fantastically well against a strong Malawi team who'd beaten them by 30 odd points last time they met. Goodwin who'd played really well throughout missed a couple of shots in the dying seconds and so Malawi won by a single point.Just seemed wrong for the BBC to highlight that rather than the team effort. Yes Goodwin is playing for the seniors but she's still a teenagerand I just felt it was out of order to pick on a youngster.
  20. Agreed. The worrying thing is 'conspiracy theorists' were predicting a false flag like that would happen in the light of the Skripal poisoning. You're an idiot if you believe every conspiracy theory but sometimes you're a bigger idiot if you don't believe any of them. Some seriously dangerous games being played here.
  21. Don't want to disparage Archers performance yesterday but City didn't have shot on target so it would have been one of Jordan's quilter afternoons.
  22. Great stuff by Duncan Scott, some race. Also immense performance by Mark Stewart to win gold in the cycling. Pictures of him at the end, he looked absolutely spent.
