  1. A man who knows his onions. On the plus side for those with tracker mortgages, it is now looking unlikely that interest rates will rise this year: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/mark-carney/12107879/Mark-Carney-rules-out-imminent-interest-rate-rise.html
  2. I've had that, or close, a couple of times. Probably because I was playing my own tunes. And singing.
  3. The more Europe talks about banning Trump, the more the Yanks will rally round him. Personally I am warming to the idea of a Trump presidency, at least we will die laughing.
  4. Learning the guitar or moothie is better from that point of view.
  5. I wanted to learn karate inatead of piano when I was a kid but turned out I loved banging away at the old Joanna. Got so good at it in fact (fringo) that I ended up playing with the organ in church.
  6. There will definitely be no Brexit, but let's see if the media go full on project fear or if they are more balanced. My money is on Trump for president, purely because he is so ridiculous. In every Labour leadership election prediction since McConnell quit I've guessed the sensible candidate would win and every time I've been wrong. In the US Clinton is the senseible candidate but as my prediction skills are obviously not calibrated right, I will cleverly put my prediction against the obviously wrong candidate.
  7. I used to tinkle the ivories a bit. What kind of music you want to play?
  8. If you'd considered the astonishing emissions figures for gas guzzlers since the road tax banding was linked to emissions, the only surprise is how long it has taken for companies to be picked up for it - not that VAG were the most glaringly obvious about it, I would have thought BMW would have been picked up first.
  9. Me too, especially as I am convinced I will die on a plane flight*. Doesn't stop me flying though, when you're numbers up its up. *this will almost certainly be on a plane I've built myself rather than a commercial flight.
  10. Nasty things, totally debilitating. Fortunately haven't had one for years. My dad gets one whenever he eats bacon.
  11. When PR people on TV say "Absolutely," when they mean "Yes."
  12. West Dumbarton are (were) awful. Aberdeen is run by loonies. Midlothian is not so bad, compared to others. Are you standing for cooncil Scunnered, you'll get the TAMB vote
  13. My main fear is dying childless, but my wife and I are both getting on a bit so hardly irrational. On the other hand I hate the thought of blood pumping round the body, makes me faint... blood just sitting there or from an external wound is fine, but the thought of the heart going and the fluids coursing round
  14. Oh aye McLeish, Labour's second best leader since devo! A toss up between Gray and Lamont. I'd say Gray at least has a bit of warmth about him if you meet him in person. According to Lamont's press team in private she was a whole different character but it is hard to see. Also, you could argue Murphy was worse than Dugdale, in terms of swagger versus reality anyway. Richard Baker though would easily have beaten the lot of them hands down for ineptitude.
  15. Wonder what Debbie Harry thinks of having her riff ripped off. I sometimes wonder if the reason Craig Ferguson quit the Late Late Show was he had consistently slagged Trump something rotten and could see the writing on the wall...
  16. He's representative of something! I just don't recall Peter Dow, who was just as if not even more batty, getting half the publicity.
  17. Sean Clerkin - a one man reddy for the indy movement. The only question is why the press give him such prominence. Could he be the new Adam Busby?? http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-news/pro-indy-group-stage-demo-7181045 "Three people from the Scottish Resistance group, led by activist Sean Clerkin, stood outside the factory building in Uddingston, South Lanarkshire, with a lion rampant flag and handed out tea cakes made by rival Scottish firm Lees."
  18. Yeah saw that film (wife's choice). He was good as the sun king. Film also has Jennifer Ehle who has worn well.
  19. Aye, Dick Pound, married to Sep's daughter, Fanny Blatter...
