  1. Two poor teams. Celtic are clueless, numerous punts up the park to nobody at all. Ajax look like scoring anytime they get into shooting distance, which isn't very often as they have no midfield presence at all. Is that Freddy Van Der Hoorn's boy in central defence?
  2. A genuine question, because I honestly cannot remember. It is by no means comparing like with like, but how was the Dunblane massacre recognized by the football community in Scotland immediately afterwards, and also in wider UK football?
  3. She is not a good presenter, she's an absolute turn off. Izzy Fraser is waaaaay better as a presenter, but of course doesn't have the bloodline.
  4. And who would you suggest replaces him in the Scotland team right now?
  5. ^^^ This in spades. No easy way round it, you have to learn to speak by making mistakes. Same way we all learnt English when we were kids. Immersion is the ideal way, but it's not always easy if you are working in the English language when you are in a new country (as I am in Montenegro right now). Anyway, good luck, make the effort to speak Spanish whenever you can and slowly you'll improve an gain confidence in your skills.
  6. The Beatles - 15/20 Rolling Stones - 16/20 Led Zeppelin - 16/20 The Who - 20/20
  7. Well done to Hungary. After them, Wales and Northern Ireland, that probably puts us as the longest non-qualifiers in current history (above pot 5 teams obviously).
  8. Really? That's good to hear because there's some pretty good material on the two Wilbury albums. Those two albums have been overlooked because of their hybrid nature, but they are well worthy of greater scrutiny.
  9. That's your opinion.........which you are 100% entitled to.
  10. The Travelilng Wilburys were pretty decent too. Kicked Dylan's ass back into gear so for that that alone we should be appreciative.
  11. Oh and while I'm on about Lennon and McCartney being fuds, what the f*ck were they thinking about not releasing Hey Bulldog as a single? It's one of their best ever.
  12. It's like comparing Elvis with Led Zep, but I get you!
  13. I'll happily give you peace Larky. It's all about opinions and mine is different than yours on ELO. So you can bugger off back to your New Order thread with the knowledge that they were rank average at best at the Ancienne Belgique in Brussels last Friday.
  14. All Things Must Pass is the total wasted opportunity in the Beatles canon. Lennon and McCartney lost the plot by not recording that one. Fuds. Apart from that they were pretty damn good.
  15. Different cultures, different attitudes. 10 years ago Miklos Feher died of a heart attack playing for Benfica and Portuguese telly replayed the moment of his collapse over and over. This one sticks in my head because I was actually watching the game live. Our culture won't ever show moments like that, it's just not the 'British' way.
  16. Can I just confirm that Kay Burley is still a khunt.
  17. But don't you also hate Celtic with a vengeance and you are unable to understand how they have been so successful either? Seriously though - plenty of excellent ELO stuff pre A New World Record, at which point the plot got lost. Living Thing is for sure one of the best pop tunes ever. Evil Woman too.
  18. Thanks for that - I'll check it out. Saw them live at the Apollo in 1976 and they were pretty damned impressive at that point.
  19. Rangers are dead. They ceased to exist in 2012. They are no more. Their history vacated the premises along with their demise. I do not expect to be shouted down for merely stating the truth.....................................but I realise that may be a fanciful expectation in this instance.
  20. Hope it's better than the pish new song he played on the One show last week.
  21. At the risk of trivializing the thread, at first glance I honestly thought it read 'Jilted John no more'. Gordon's defo still a moron though.
  22. In some countries it is a legal requirement to have ID on your person at all times. Belgium for starters.
  23. On a serious point, this is the case - the 1989 (?) British Midland crash in Northern England being a case in point.
  24. Can we at least all agree that Kay Burley is a khunt?
  25. Excellent actor who in Till Death etc ripped the pish out of the racists and bigots that were commonplace in post war Britain. Sadly, something as prescient and topical today (insert your own topic) wouldn't get anywhere near the BBC director's in tray.
