  1. Excellent and congrats to those who are retired. Quite right, now enjoy the good life!
  2. Absolutely ridiclous. The "impartial" BBC at one point had a headline yesterday "SNP MSP BEATTIE NOW SAYS HE KNEW OF CAMPER VAN."
  3. We're just a small part of GB(it's England to most of the world). Joanna Lamont's Scots are incapable of making big decisions etc is probably true during Indyref. And now we're going to be stuck with Tory/Labour rule as the shit sticks to the SNP. People simply don't care enough and it'll be managed to decline where we'll end up looking like some shit hole in the north of England. I don't even mention my nationality abroad now, and if someone mentions it I'll talk about the national football team doing well. Imagine telling someone from Estonia, Iceland, Lithuania or Ireland ''we are a proud country,'' - we are an autonomous part of GB who has a football team and a few other sports teams. People don't care enough or are too comfy. Even Brexit couldn't get enough lazy cunts off their arse to demand independence.
  4. The SNP are going to lose 20-25 seats at the next General Election. This shitshow will go on. Humza will be a wet lettuce with arrogance and we are officially Quebec.
  5. 😃 Imagine we were sitting top or second after that Spain game and then beat France! Way too carried away ; but could you even imagine the amount of hype from Sky, talkSHITE etc there would be for Clarke! There was a time when I would dread us playing these games ; yet now it sounds quite appealing!
  6. If anyone can afford to retire early, honestly go for it! I know a workaholic type who can't relax or has no interests outside work, if you are one of these people then join a club, hobby, and if money isn't too much of an object - get traveling. Many of us will be working in to our 70s
  7. Nice one Ramy, not long to go! What's your retirement plans? Do you think you'll ever move back to the homeland?
  8. Don't know enough about Brown, but wasn't he initially selected when he had a bit of a hot-streak for Stoke? His wiki stats aren't that impressive and neither is playing for Stoke City to be honest. I think I remember coming in a couple of games and running about a bit but doing nothing. I feel more sorry for Liam Kelly - been in the squad for almost two years and Clarke hasn't even brought him on or played him. Was amazed he didn't play him against Turkey!
  9. I wish him well, but I have a horrible feeling he won't be liked by the general public. Let's come back in a few months/year and see how his polling is ; but no matter what you think of Sturgeon or Salmond - he's miles behind them in wits, smarts or even just competence. I've never liked him on debates either, he falls for the traps every time and gets stuck in the mud. Who knows maybe he's more savy? The cabinet doesn't exactly look like its bursting with talent either. We'll see ; but its quite hard to be optimistic about the direction of Scottish independence under the current SNP leadership and unfortunately, Scotland has a lot of fairweather fans when it comes to the fitba team and independence - and I can see soft Yessers will end up disengaged from politics. I didn't particularly like the vitriol towards Kate Forbes and the snide from some in the SNP who I thought were bigger and better than that. I'm quite happy I left the party in 2020. Independence is a long way away. The UK government can just keep doing what they are doing aka ''Not now,'' and the SNP will mump but do nothing, and the general population will just suck it all up. The SNP quite rightly deserve flack for being no further forward in having a second referendum. Yes, the UK govt etc were always going to rubber the requests but the SNP should be a lot more radical than they have. Even as someone who's quite passionate about independence, its very hard to even think about just now - considering it's not going to happen for a long time.
  10. Haha, a win in Norway would almost have me BOOKING flights!
  11. A marvelous two games. Can't help but love McTominay more and more. What a lad! Rodri - a bitter Spaniard with a Welsh name- GIRUY! A point in Oslo would be good although hopefully we go there looking to win! Georgia are a really decent wee side. It's a tough group - you could argue Cyprus are the one of the best 5th seeds too! Get to the summer with 12 points would be unbeliveable ; 10 would be very good - Norway would be on 2 from 9! After the summer its - Georgia, Cyprus away - we really need to win the Cyprus game ; Spain is a free hit again ; Georgia 1 point is a must, a win would be great and then a potential cup final at home v Norway!
  12. The right decision. Was on the fence after the Ireland away hammering! But, we WON that group! We are night and day from a few years ago - if we could find a striker! We played really well on Saturday, "It only takes one game for you guys to excited?" from someone who doesn't understand football but about Scotland fans ; but quietly optimistic about tomorrow. My main concern is he's too slow to change when things aren't going well. And no idea why Jacob Brown is in every squad! If he can get us to the Euros ; and a decent WC qualifying campaign he'll be in hot demand for a club job (if he wants it?). There's no doubt we are a better side than we have been in a long time. He's won a playoff ; won the A Nations League title and improved us a lot.
  13. Very decent performance on the whole - if we could be better in the last third (how long have we been saying that?) but there's a good team there and some great players coming through. Hickey was excellent. Tierney is always reliable. Dykes is a great asset (if you aren't relying on him to score). Christie can be frustrating but did well for the two goals. Gunn was solid/one save? Overall pretty good! Hopefully can sneak a win on Tuesday now!
  14. Three lacklustre candidates but Forbes is the best by a country mile, she has to win.
  15. Don't worry about it, Malcolm, its about as relevant as the UK rejoining EU. Neither are going to happen in the next ten years.
  16. Whatever happens or whoever wins, none of them will deliver independence for Scotland. We've been snookered since that supreme court ruling and UK government basically being able to overruled Holyrood; the people don't care enough about independence nor do most of the SNP (far too tucking cosy with the whole setup). Independence is over for a long time. Labour will win the next UK election and they may well win a second term (considering how utterly shite the Tories are; they won't need to do much). Scots are too weak and passive to deserve independence, really
  17. 2 days in and this has turned into an absolute farce. Forbes has literally no awareness or savy ; or she is so blinded to her religious beliefs that she's blow any chance of getting it from the get go. Although got to admire a politician for giving a view.
  18. He's a weird cat. Him and fellow zoomer Jim Spence seem to be paly.
  19. I've never really like Humza. He can come across as arrogant (some might say confidence) but I doubt he'll win anyone on the fence over regards independence. Don't know enough about Forbes - if she can keep her religious views away from her voting record, then why not? Also, a FM who speaks Gàidhlig would wind up the right people. Would she be liked in the central belt? Ash Regan - Cherry/Alba crew. Would enough Alba people rejoin to vote for her? Whatever happens, independence is on the back burner for a long while - just like we don't hear anything about Catalonia. The UK supreme court and government can almost do what they want, and Scots will just accept it.
  20. Fickle auld Scotia polls like the wind. How can people go from being aghast at the UK government basically ignoring the Scottish parliament to thinking yes, more of the same. Anyone who left in 2014, you did the right thing. We're 9 years down the line and no closer to independence - nor does it look like there will be a referendum with Westminster's backing. They'll just get rubbering it, the SNP will blow some hot air about court cases (they might even lose UK supreme ones etc) and it'll still be 49-51 in the polls. All whilst the elephant in the room and 90% of them who have no intention of ever changing their mind/yet we can't bring them up are the Anglos who are moving in(like they did in Wales) mostly Brexit, Tory, against independence, posh arseholes tbh, but get all the benefits of living in a ''socialist hellhole''.
  21. We really are a spineless bunch. I knew folk would forget that the UK even had a supreme court never mind No would be back in the lead.
  22. Polls are great but let's see them in a few months. The SNP better keep up the fiesty referendum/supreme court rhetoric, and keep nailing Labour about their lacklustre Lord reform (they'll never get rid of them; just be their time to fill them up with Labour-friendly Michelle Mone types when Starmer is PM).
  23. The polling is excellent and great news but just shows how fickle we are as a nation and tbh, stupid - half expect it to be back to 50/50 or the slight no in a few months time once people have forgotten about the supreme court decision.
