  1. You're being way too harsh on AJ. Dodging the best boxers? Out of the current Ring top ten heavyweights AJ has fought four (Ruiz, Povetkin, Parker and Whyte, Wilder has fought two (Ortiz and Fury) and Fury has only fought Wilder. Heavyweights mostly all get knocked down at some point, but it's how they respond that is key. AJ put in a superb, intelligent performance in the re-match against Ruiz - regardless how overweight Ruiz was. You mention the shaky moments against Klitschko and Whyte - fights which AJ won. He's avenged everything in the ring. My money would still be on Fury though.

    Play off tickets

It's already been tested. Rangers inexplicably got the Aberdeen end when we met in last seasons league cup semi...
  3. Now confirmed that a section of Ibrox will have to close. SFA/SPFL take note.
  4. Even the first round (and preliminary round!) CL losers get parachuted in. Crazy! It's about to get worse when Europa League 2 starts in a couple of years. Will then be able to parachute down through the whole system...
  5. The meteorological summer is 1st June - 31st August. It's the astronomers that get fussed about soltices and equinoxes. I prefer the June - August definition.
  6. Just voted - the only voter in the entire hall. Brexit voters will be far more motivated to vote than most others. Scotland prediction: SNP - 33% Brexit - 19% Labour - 16% LD - 11% Tory - 10% Green - 9% Other - 2% Think that would equate to 3 x SNP seats, 1 x Brexit, 1 x Labour and 1 x LD.
  7. A repeat of 2014 then. 108,000 wasted Green votes. SNP limited to two seats and UKIP/Brexit take the final seat.
  8. One from Larnaca please. Cheers.
  9. Pretty sure the Hibs guard of honour at Pittodrie was in 83 - three days after Gothenburg. A crazy day I remember well. Fans and players still buzzing after the midweek, a chance of winning the league that day (albeit slim), a routine 5-0 win and nobody being too bothered when the other results didn't go our way.
  10. Travel will not be a problem. It'll be easier for Cove to get to all League Two grounds than to Wick, Brora or Fort William.
  11. There's also the small matter of £250k difference in prize money between 3rd and 4th. Think Killie deserve it and will get there, but hope not!
  12. He even had a dog race named after him last weekend... http://www.gbgb.org.uk/resultsRace.aspx?id=2195494
  13. The synthetic component of a hybrid pitch is basically all below the surface. The playing surface itself is grass. Celtic Park and Murrayfield certainly have one and for some reason I think Hearts laid one last close season? A hybrid pitch is also currently being installed at the new Aberdeen training facility to exactly replicate the future stadium pitch.
  14. Pretty sure the proposed FieldTurf pitch at Kilmarnock is 100% plastic - not hybrid.

    Tennis 2019

Masterclass from Djokovic. On that performance a calendar slam would be a good bet.

    Tennis 2017

Really gutted for him. He's provided many of my best sporting memories over the last 12 years or so. Lots of late nights / early mornings keeping track. A sad way to end - he's obviously in agony and shouldn't play at all in Australia - but what a legacy to leave!

    Tennis 2017

It is sad to watch. His recent interviews are telling - he knows himself it’s probably all over.
  18. I may be looking at it half glass full, but I'm really worried about what our squad will look like after the transfer window. The vibes are that Lowe will be recalled by Derby, McKenna will probably be sold, Devlin + Reynolds + Hoban are all medium / long term injured - what defenders will we be able to field? Further up the park, Shinnie and GMS could well be looking for a move - do we take some fee now or run down their contracts? There's absolutely nothing I've seen from Forrester that suggests he's anything other than completely out of his depth. He (with his £200k transfer fee) along with Gleeson and Wilson are in the top wage bracket at Pittodrie, giving practically zero in return. The May / Cosgrove partnership is promising as is the emergence of Connor McLennan and Bruce Anderson.
  19. The straps worked well for me and after losing a bit of weight this year can just about fit into the kilt without them again. Considered getting the kilt adjusted at the time, but then thought I'd be resigning myself to being overweight for eternity. A wee bit of kilt motivation helped the weight loss!
  20. Staying in Bologna Sat - Tue and just travel for the match. Quite impressed with what I’ve read about Bologna. Plenty to do and see.
  21. Scotland 1-3 Egypt. Pittodrie 16th May, 1990. A nightmare send off to the World Cup.
  22. Exactly. Would be even better if a draw was made to decide a single host for both semis and the final - less travelling all round.
  23. Don't think so, but it's still far from ideal. 'Regulation 17.04: For each play off final, a draw is conducted in advance to determine which semi-final winner will play at home' So, we have a 50/50 chance of the final being at Hampden if we win the semi. However, if the other semi get the luck of the draw we wont know whether we will be going to Oslo or Belgrade until 3 days before!?
  24. I agree about the exposure and I'm ok with the new Scottish Cup deal increasing the amount of free to air live matches to 11 games per season - particularly giving more coverage to the earlier rounds. The best way to boost exposure would be to have a prime-time Saturday evening in-depth highlights / analysis programme on free to air, not by disadvantaging fans who go to games.
  25. We went to the pick up point about 9:30 on Friday night and saw the length of the queue meandering through the lobby. We about turned and went back at 10am on Saturday morning and got the tickets within 15 mins.
