  1. I don't do subscription TV on general principle, so this deal (reducing the number of televised games from 60 to 48 per season) will mean less disruption for myself and other fans that actually go to games.
  2. No. The whole of the North Stand is going to Rangers.
  3. The reaction from Celtic is hilarious. In the event of an Aberdeen v Celtic final, I look forward to them demanding a ballot to determine who gets what end at Hampden.
  4. League games are incomparable, that's why Aberdeen aren't complaining about the 12:15 KO for the league game in Kilmarnock on Sunday 4th November.
  5. At long last AFC have grown a pair... Aberdeen FC finds the explanation provided by the SFA in relation to the Michael Devlin red card appeal unacceptable. The club maintains its view that the player was wrongfully dismissed, that the evidence presented was a robust defence and was overwhelmingly compelling in the player’s favour. In light of recent decisions taken by the SFA, the club believes it is imperative for the country’s football authorities to establish consistency and transparency in the appeal and referral process and will engage in dialogue with the SPFL in this regard to seek their assistance. Furthermore, at a time when technology is making a significant and positive impact across sport, the club believes that the impact of the VAR system trials in the English Premier League need to be considered if stakeholders in the game are going to regain trust in the process. AFC is aware that the views we have expressed are held by many who have found key appeal and referral decisions this year perplexing and want to see the governing body dealing with this proactively, with a consistent and transparent appeals process high up on the agenda. Doing so would enhance the game’s integrity, greatly assist referees, improve the game for fans and, ultimately, the perception of Scottish football.
  6. thanks for the offer but just booked the Megabus from Perth to Glasgow. Cheers.
  7. Just been informed that my train - 12:40 - now terminates at Perth... as does the one after that... and after that... conflicting information as to whether there are replacement buses from Perth to Queen Street, but looking unlikely.
  8. Amazon have the rights for the ATP tour from next year, as well as the US open. Streaming is the way forward!

Agree with all of that. The last thing Andy's body needs at the moment is five set matches - best to skip Wimbledon this year and continue with a measured return. However, I think he will play.
  10. Agree that series 3 did pick up as it went on and ultimately I suppose it had to go in a different direction to the first two. Series 4 is already dropping off of iPlayer I'm afraid as it was only on for the standard 30 days, unlike the older series.
  11. Agree with this. Previously, Aberdeen have been seeded in the second qualifying round, so Sevilla, etc. wouldn't have been an option. The new club co-efficient system has changed all of that and we are now unseeded. It's only going to get tougher!
  12. Some Highland league clubs fancy it and some don't - Cove are definitely a club who do. I've watched Cove a couple of times this season and went to the play-off semi against Spartans, Cove are a decent side and by all accounts the 0-0 draw last week more than flattered Cowdenbeath. After being homeless for a few seasons, the new Cove stadium is almost complete and it would be fitting if the first competitive league game there will be in league 2. I think Cove will do it.
  13. On iPlayer until 21st of June. The first 3 series have 10 episodes each.
  14. Started watching the complete Bridge on iPlayer a couple of weeks ago and now up to episode 2.4. It is superb!! Series four starts on BBC2 on Friday, so will have to avoid spoilers until I've caught up! Also did a complete re-watch of Life on Mars a month or so ago and it has aged well - still my all time favourite TV series.
  15. Players I've watched live many times: Leighton Kennedy, Miller, McLeish, Robertson Strachan, Simpson, Bett, Weir Harper, McGhee Subs: Snelders, McKimmie, Anderson, Jess, Gillhaus, Black, Hewitt.

At least Bedene saw the light and realised this season he is Slovenian afterall. Meanwhile, Federer takes a wild card in Rotterdam in an attempt to get back to number one.

Don't think there's any chance of him going near clay this year. I'd expect the same schedule as the first half of last year: Dubai, Indian Wells, Miami, skip the clay court season, then Stuttgart, Halle and Wimbledon where he will be favourite, if fit. I think what the last 12 months has highlighted is that the previous decade really was the golden era. There's no way a 36 year old should be winning major's nor a half fit Nadal (at Flushing Meadows).

It does feel like this is the end of high level competition for Andy and time also appears to be catching up with the others as Nadal, Djokovic and Wawrinka are all major doubts for Melbourne... the freak that is Fed keeps on going though.
  19. No spin at all and 100% correct, I'm merely separating the impact that the Westminster and Holyrood budgets will have on the Scottish tax payer, something the SNP are reluctant to do. I am all for a progressive tax system, but despise rhe disingenuous politician speak surrounding these announcements. One thing is indisputable - people in Scotland earning £26k+ will, from April, be paying more tax than those on the same salary elsewhere in the UK.
  20. To be fair, it's mostly spin from Sturgeon - the SNP are trying to take credit for the Tory rise in the personal allowance from £11,500 to £11,850. Looking only at the SNP adjustments, the 19% band will save a taxpayer a maximum of £20/year. The 21% band will recoup at least that from everyone earning £26k or more. Anyone earning £26k or more will pay more tax as a result of the Scottish budget.

It is a worry. I watched the exhibition and he was obviously hobbling between points.

Brilliant performance from old man Fed in Shanghai. Pretty much unplayable when he serves like that - with Rafa not really close to even a break point. Still no idea how Fed's backhand has improved so much this season.
  23. I regularly track the space station: https://spotthestation.nasa.gov/sightings/view.cfm?country=United_Kingdom&region=Scotland&city=Aberdeen#.Wbun2U2WwdU How do you explain me looking up, through a telescope, at a clearly formed space station hurtling through the night sky. Despite the sky occasionally being cloud free, the space station will go dark at the precise moment the reflection of the sun is obscured by the earth. That moment of darkness will change as it moves around the globe.
  24. We bought four tickets in RE - since sold on after getting away end tickets - no mention of any reprint / relocation. Potential for chaos on the day if seats are double booked.
