  2. I struggle as I can't get past the accents. Terrible.

    New jerseys?

Nice. But I'll wait for the next failed campaign and pick it up in the discount section
  6. So is anyone in the north/north east taking part/following the p&j rolling independence poll https://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/category/news/politics/referendum/independence-referendum-guide/ Currently week 27 https://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/fp/news/politics/referendum/independence-referendum-guide/1349725/vote-second-scottish-independence-referendum-week-27-pj-rolling-poll/ and I can only find one announcement of the proposed regular updates of results Maybe because the only figure quoted from June 1st with 73.3% yes https://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/fp/news/politics/referendum/independence-referendum-guide/1256765/pj-rolling-poll-results-voters-feel-indyref2-scots-leaders/ Does anyone know of any more recent update that I may have missed?
  7. Dad was from Ayrshire so if the basis for nationality is based on the eligibility for a football team then yep he's eligible and therefore Scottish. http://www.scotlandnow.dailyrecord.co.uk/lifestyle/heritage/alexander-hamilton-scot-who-might-7225676
  8. So anyone else obsessed with the musical Hamilton. I can't wait for it to come to the UK. I hope Miranda moves to Scotland for a few shows. A musical about a Scot seeking independence for his new country from Britain. Some amazing songs and full of emotion. I didn't know the full story before this musical https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hamilton_(musical) Some beautiful tracks and undertones of uprising. I hope similar things will be done for the future Scotland founding fathers and mothers
  9. I don't know. The confiscated ballots are the problem another 770,000 votes. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2017/oct/11/catalonias-suspended-declaration-of-independence-what-happens-next That would be 60% turnout. Taking the narrative only nats would turn out. You'd assume similar distribution to the counted votes. And assuming similar yes, no, blank you'd have 2732472 yes out of an electorate of 5313564 which is 51% that's if the entire population voted. Or If you assume all 770000 missing were no you'd have a 60+% turnout with 32% no and 68% yes. Or as stated above you'd need a 77% turnout with every other vote as a no. Which ever way it is cut I am more of the opinion there is a majority sentiment for independence.

    Independence

Go on then. You've convinced me. So when we doing this?
  11. I am a camra member who likes going to good pubs with good well kept beers. Rates are one thing. I'd say there are lots of reasons leading to pub closures. One being the cost of beer, changing social attitudes and the loss of community pubs. Surprised camra let's this happen in their own back yard.
  12. I am trying to work out whether the referendum was a fair reflection of the populations opinion given low turnout, and a practical boycott by no voters. So I wonder If there was a legal referendum, how likely would it be that there would be a turnout of 77% and not one of the additional votes goes to yes? (Yes+No+votes needed to overhaul yes+1) /electorate (2,044,038+177,547+1,866,491+1) /5,313,564=76.9% The turnout in the 2015 election was 74.95, 2012 67.76, 2010 58.78. So a referendum would have to beat a turnout greater than in recent years and given the 2015 was a proxy fought on a promise of a referendum, that might shed a light on likely turnout. There was 84.59% here in 2014. I find it interesting to that if the same turnout in catalonia and no additional yes votes, it would be 45-55. I still can't fathom if on average Catalans do wish for independence or not. It could be pretty close if Spain permits a legal vote. *Open to my calculations being queried*
  13. Mail or express in the trolley Leans on trolley instead of using their own feet. Some kind of reusable bag with a London bus or Olympics 2012. Up here, a "working" land-rover, welly boots, possibly a gillet. Gonna say it, over 50.
  14. Limmy didn't do that this time. Clearly he wouldn't attend charity does as he's arrogant and not in the least bit funny

    Sad

Absolutely. But I think that because (30+) older folk remember Scotland being in international tournaments. Younger than that think Scotland is a joke.
  16. I get it, but i think it's a terrible half truth graphic. Yes I get that no snp representation at other conference spots, but others get a slot when it's snp conference. It doesn't say however whether when it was labour week if tory, Libdem, UKIP were on to challenge the conference reporting. Also will the general tory, labour conference have much of relevance to snp, where as inverse is true.
  17. Couldn't resist. Jumped on the train down to Glasgow instead of home tonight. (wife not best pleased) Must be the quietest Aberdeen to Glasgow pre match train ever. But what followed was finding a ghost town getting in to GLQ with no pre game day merryment anywhere. Usually a few out of town TA making a jolly of it. Should have known given I've managed to get a hotel room of George square for £50pn. Are these Thursday night games reducing out of central belt support? Ah well, maybe tomorrow.

  19. I drink on my evening commute at 2-3 nights per week. I would say it isn't prevalent 10-15 % people. Lots of riggers at Dyce usually. The worst train for drinking is the Friday 0930 arrival in Aberdeen. hen, stag, golf outing a plenty I've never seen someone offered not take a beer and not join in.
