  1. i should add ; that coincidentally talked about gender change ; or whatever the term is now , coincidentally the bill being on the cards this week - aside from the lowering of age from 18 to 16 ; the bigger issue seems to be the lowering of 2 years to 3mths ? for living in that body it seems at least they can raise the income tax again to deal with all the reversal procedures
  2. ah okay thanks for the clarification mate do you sport a pair by any chance ?
  3. am glad you said that ; as i'd thought they done something to the water since i left in 2006 .... was actually having a heated debate with the other half at weekend re all the nonsense thats being forced upon us now ; i was citing the case of the teacher in canada with the size Z ? fake breasts ; and how that would affect the kids etc etc the pendulum is swinging so far to the left , and people wonder why there is so many right wing nut jobs out there now polarization express
  4. wouldnt this be similar to OF treatment compared to the rest of the also rans in Scotland ? not just TV, but SFA, press etc etc ; where bulk of your audience are only concerned in their interests if you agree with any of the above , do you think would change in any in independence ; aside from more gaelic channel matches , womens football etc
  5. queens became the O Neils ? (the first one in UK i think) - although am thinking it was the tappit hen ruffles ; ive got about 4 guesses at - diamond st / the beach / crown st or shiprow ..... Gs though i was very familiar with ; lounge bar saturday 8.30(pm) sat meeting place before hitting Cousins / just as Joey Harper had sailed .... altho Gs upstairs quite often during the week with work folk town went through a few changes after that ; where different areas became popular for bars - windmill brae / fairly dodgy ; belmont st / bigger student vibe - by late 90s early 2000s , holburn jct & Queens road was as far as we'd travel to town glad i dont have to do it now tbh .......
  6. although see there is a firm making Red McEwans IPA now - and to further confuse things / poke holes in my memory ; it is from wikipedia tho .... "the North of England.[22] From the 1960s, the company began to style itself MacEwan's in export markets, in order to make pronunciation easier.[23] The company's McEwan's Strong Ale was the highest gravity beer on general sale throughout the world.[23] McEwan's Export was alternatively sold as India Pale Ale or Scotch Ale overseas.[23] William McEwan Younger retired in 1970.[22]" and they changed the Spelling ! Lead Zeppelin of the brewing world ? What shores ?
  7. am fairly certain that the earlier version of this was called India Pale Ale - am talking 1970s billboard mental imagery here - decades before the camra and hipster bearded types popularized the IPA revolution
  8. Thanks ; yeah that makes sense - did think there would be regional variations of it too
  9. and i thought it was only for auld mannies ..... : ) was working in the palm court 86-87 ' - lots of 'mature' locals - but also West End FC used it as clubhouse - been back a few times in the years past and quite a big difference ; never as busy (tv football aside) even with the fact that loads of pub in that area of city have gone forever ......
  10. only saw the first one - but agree ; was a bit suspect to start with ; vapid teens on boat etc , but on landing got into it - just finished Netflix "Dont pick up the phone" 3 part Docuseries ; tough to believe it actually took place - kept thinking all through it ; this could only happen in America .....
  11. i read your earlier post on black & tan ; and this one now is mentioning McEwans pale ale = i do recall there was a green can which was different to the red export one - am pretty sure though in 80s in Aberdeen when i pulled pints (for a year p/t) that a black & tan was a stout & export / or 80' ??? - as a a sweetheart stout and a guinness would be a black & black ?
  12. I think the definition of poor / poorer etc has changed over the decades ; am sure a lot of people on here grew up on council estates ; no car , no overseas holidays , rental tv if your lucky , although as a whole community- your pals were in the same boat it was normalized- the mums were unlikely to be keeping up with the kardashians either - tupperware / betterware or avon more likely eating out / skip the dishes would of been occasional trip to chipper
  13. only lasted a few minutes into 1899 ; historical bit was fine , but was a bit that was sci-fi or similar where i switched off although i did last a whole episode of a series 'into the dark' ; a plane of passengers avoiding the sun......
  14. super powers in the kebab shop at closing time.... just finished "two summers' on Netflix - english subtitles of flemish show - really good and SAS Rogue warriors - found it on Amazon prime - i had complained about it based on the preview clips i'd seen ; but hands up , really enjoyed it - am sure theres potential to go through to 80s with Embassy siege etc - altho 90s and Bravo two zero has now been done to death
  15. aside from WC 90 games ; and friendlies in USA & Mexico , away support at San Siro was likely best i've seen (even though we were never at the races ) am sure some will think Sweden in Genoa was better thats only six away games ive been too i think ; WC 2026 in N.America may be next chance .....
  16. tbh ive only been watching you tube highlights of the games - my predictions on group results were all based on a teams historical reputation ; unlike current form - i hope this comes into play later as i put england down as wc cup winners in our household prediction - based on coming close in 86,90 then at last Euros .... France have impressed the most i think - but they did struggle recently in a 1-1 draw ; think lready qualified tho
  17. see US of A are 78% possession per bbc website at half time but 2-0 down to Netherlands ; kind of backs up a gripe i had on here a few weeks back
  18. fine, you want to play semantics ; the timing of your comment was out of line and you know it
  19. Was no malice like harold v france or rapid vienna keeper v tommy burns but def a straight red - albeit clumsy
  20. At least Rough would never got that far off his line to be sent off….
