This would be a huge blow. If the squad size is raised to 26 then there could really be a few attacking players who have barely played for Clarke in the squad..

Im sure Clarke would love to freshen up the squad and especially in attack but really who is out there that is really ready to come in. We are forced into playing box to box midfielders in attacking positions and Steve Clarke has managed to find a system that works for us. I reckon we will take 3 strikers and they will be the only 'attackers' in whole squad. Maybe at a push you could count Stuart Armstrong also. Christie is now a DM for his club and Mcginn, Mctominay, Ferguson, Mclean are box to box. Gilmour and Mcgregor are DMs. He got the piss taken by Elliott Anderson so reckon he is done with convincing dual nationals to join. A lot here will be glad of that. We are all frustrated but we pretty much have zero attacking depth and getting us to another tournament deserves credit.

I just realised we are playing Giibraltar and Finland as warm up groups before playing Germany at the Allianz arena a week later in the aeuros opener. Are we mental?? What the fcuk are these games going to prepare us for.

This game highlights what we all know.. We are strong in the midfield and at wing back but at this level we dont have the solid defence and striker we are well short.. Also Souttar dropped a disaster class when he came on which didnt help.

Think this is all becoming a tired argument these days. For instance the 2 starting centre halves for Spain are really French. Barnes, Gordon, Livramento, Quansah, Steele, Anderson would all be welcome additions to the squad should they become available.

Interesting to see Norway have called up Oscar Bobb after a total of 1.5 games in senior football albeit for man city. Would love to see Scotland fast track more players in that look the part in youth football. Doak being the obvious one but looking like there could a few others in next few years and we will soon have no choice but to bring in new faces soon as some stalwarts are wrong side of 30.

Think its probably more to do with lack of options they have in central mid. Kalvin phillips and Jordan Henderson are in current squad due to lack of younger players or players with regular game time in EPL pushing them out.
