  1. You should definitely vote for her party and you should encourage all your like minded friends to do so. Anything that takes list votes of the major Unionist parties and the Lib Dems is a good thing.

  4. I would blame him if he took up Wales’ offer. He’s played for our youth teams and has every possibility of playing for our u21s in due course. Why should he spit the dummy? Middleton has played and scored in the Europa league so his inclusion was justified. I do agree the u21 lineups have been ridiculously negative but that doesn’t justify a 20 year old player jumping ship. It is unclear indeed if this has actually happened.

  6. Researching it, it would appear that he was in the standby list for Wales u21 back in November. (Grandmother is from Newport) Banks is knocking on the door at Crystal Palace and he's contributed 6 goals in 11 matches in EPL2. Looks like we might lose a good young player. 20 year old, on the fringes of an EPL team. Apparently, that isn't deemed good enough to get into the Scotland u21 squad.

  9. The SFA are at the root of the problem. As always. It's a good point that was made about the Performance Schools. I, too, thought that one of the points of the Performance Schools was to educate the kids, teach the kids, and keep their names on the database. Apparently not apparently, it's to turn them into good footballers, with an education underneath them, and then ignore them for other nations to cap. Aaron Hickey was a Performance School graduate. He's a regular in Serie A, and yet the only time he's represented Scotland is once, at u17 level. This is a complete shambles of

  10. Yes, and you seemingly missed the point in me saying that. My point was, the system we were playing at the time, we were going to fail with whomever we picked.

  12. As a player he was often cowardly and dived a lot. Some fans hated him for those reasons compounded by the fact that many commentators glossed over these flaws and gushed about him.

  13. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=_NkT_CCcjrs (Watch from 2:50) I've seen him being interviewed. He seems like a nice, grounded, lad. So I don't blame him in the least if he takes up the offer from Wales. I agree. In the Greece match we had Middleton (Gerrard is so impressed by him as a winger that he's talking of converting him into a left back...) And McLellan. No disrespect to those two, but to be knocking on the first team door, at 20, supersedes their achievements. With no one creative on the bench. Then we have the u19s, with Kai Kennedy, who looked out of his depth

  16. True. It's up to the manager, though. A couple of years ago he lead the EPL in successful dribbles. I read in a recent article that OGS confessed that McTominay is a box to box midfielder. Hopefully this will lead to him being let off the leash a wee bit. He could do a lot of damage to teams if OGS allows him freedom.

  21. Got a letter through earlier today offering me the flu vaccine. In two minds whether or not to bother, trying to weigh up the likelihood of getting the flu, given that we're halfway through the winter, locked down and likely to remain that way until Easter versus the risk of catching COVID while attending a facility to get the flu vaccine.

  23. My thoughts too. He probably should have featured for the U21s already but he was playing for the U19s as recently as 2019, so he can't completely be off the radar. The boy isn't even 20 yet and if he's seriously contemplating ditching Scotland already you have to wonder how committed he really is anyway. McGeady's heart seemingly was always set on playing for Ireland though, rightly or wrongly.

  25. She's probably more politically aligned to Farage and his coterie than the rest of the Holyrood Tories, who tend to be of the wetter variety. She's a pretty nasty piece of work. Having resigned the whip, there was obviously no chance of her being a candidate in May. She obviously fancies another run at it but I can't see any chance of success. She's from South Scotland which is one of the areas suffering the sharp end of Brexit, so any residual support for her brand of politics I suspect has dissipated. I'd imagine any pissed-off Tories there would be looking tactically at Labour or

  27. I'm assuming forensic isn't being used as it's dictionary definition? Cause his emotional reaction to a few subjects are anything but forensic, specifically Hillsborough and his penchant for getting into abusive exchanges on comment sections of forums doesn't really lend itself to that interpetation. I'm sure he said some very accurate things of "going-ons" he has also got some things spectacularly wrong, as we all do! He's managed to polarise the SNP membership and get them fighting each other though, hence why he is cheered by unionists now. His personality trait of intoleranc

  28. Clearly you just don't like him but his forensic dissection of what's going on is generally pretty accurate. I know he doesn't like Nicola Sturgeon as he thinks she's a proven liar and he strongly dislikes her support for the GRA nonsense, but as a news source he's far better than the mainstream media as far as Scottish politics are concerned. He is demonised because unionists fear him, to the point that many on the yes side now have no time for him. A right wing neofascist he is not.

  29. After reading this & doing the research I'm pretty angry. He really does sound a extremely promising player but should we be at all surprised with the coaching staff the sfa employ for our younger groups. Scott Gemmill & even Billy Stark seem to have job security no matter what results they bring. I watched that must win under 21 game against Greece (albeit on a Sunday league level pitch) & it was blatantly obvious early on we lacked creativity but Gemmill kept Ferguson in a holding role for the full game & had Turnbull on the bench until the 72nd minute.

  30. Pennington's quoted either in the report itself or in the accompanying press release. No idea what he said but no doubt it was just a case of SNPBad. James Matthews from Sky asked the question - not a great couple of days for him - and quoted Pennington. The FM basically stuck the boot in by reminding everyone that Pennington was one of the people in the summer who were saying "the pandemic is over, why do we still have restrictions" - so basically, who'd take that muppet seriously. They were obviously expecting this to come up and were well prepared and booted it right out of the

I've broken down the keys to succeeding in this group and compared it to our campaigns of the past. I'd be really interested to hear what you all think? Could we qualify through the Playoffs again? Or is our best chance winning this group? https://www.thetartanscarf.com/post/how-can-scotland-qualify-for-qatar-2022
