  1. Playing competitive for pishy wee Canada Sunday League teams is the equivalent of dossing aboot in the primary playgroond in Scotland ya Walter Mitty. 😄

  2. Can only describe it as a Scotland game in Portree/Oban/Ullapool 😂

  3. Maybe. It's certainly more than we've played in the previous three years: 2018 we played 10 matches 2019 we played 10 matches 2020 we played 8 matches (The laughing and confused emojis should be removed. I would much rather someone comment with actual words, even if it's negative, than a silly emoji.)

  4. Some good news here. A company called Wonky Sheep are doing a day trip from Edinburgh. I went on Passporttravel’s day trip the last time and it was excellent. Incidentally the price is lower than it was in 2007 (or whenever it was). No easy way of getting there otherwise. From memory the same small chunky plane did about 4 trips back and forth with Scotland fans. surely this time it’ll be in Torshavn and not the cliff! https://wonkysheep.co.uk/product/faroes-v-scotland-ft/

  6. I think most people are pleased with the draw yesterday. We've avoided the countries which we'd realistically have no chance of finishing above and it looks like we have a real chance. I thought it would be worth taking a closer look at the teams we've been paired against. Denmark The Danes qualified for Euro 2020 after finishing second behind Switzerland in qualifying, ahead of Rep. of Ireland and Georgia. They were undefeated with 4 wins and 4 draws. They have a good record at home but did only draw with Ireland twice (and they've been poor for ages now). They did finish above

  7. That's actually quite funny for you 👉 Stand on.

  8. if Gilmour is getting game time, then we need to call him up for the squad in March. We play Israel away, and I truly believe we have seen the best of Israel but they have not seen the best of us. We can beat them but I will settle for a draw in that game. Nisbet, Gilmour, potentially Gauld and Lewis Morgan should be getting a close look for sure in my book. I think Johnny Russell wont ever get a game for us again, he always turned up and was decent but we have better players now.

  9. Yeh he definitely does but we are putting together a decent wee team that could be a golden generation by our standards. Gilmour, mctom, Tierney, robertson, Mcginn, christie and fraser are genuinely talented players who are all 26 and under. Maybe not Chelsea standards but could be a good team with those guys mixed with hard working pros.

  11. Ah right. Sorry to add to the confusion. That one was good. It was the one before it that I didn't understand. Frozen peas or something. I thought that was the one Huddersfield was speaking about. In my defence his post didn't have the picture, so I just assumed it was the unfunny one he was talking about. Anyway, I'm blaming him for ruining a good thread.

  12. Of course I realise the reasons. Just asking the question. Playing in a tournament is also a rare addition.

  13. Either that or he'll cave in and come back with a deal and it'll be 'Boris saves the day!'. I think it's all a piece of theatre.

  14. He also needs to bulk up and make himself harder to knock off the ball as well. That will come I'd hope as his body naturally fills out. However, he has already shown he has an eye for neat and cutting passes, body feints and lovely ball skills. It is time we start integrating him into the Scotland team.

  15. I try not to get over excited about Scottish young players but Gilmour looks like the real deal. Not just in terms of being good enough for the EPL but potentially top top class. He rarely gives the ball away but its his vision and movement that impresses me. There was a moment in last nights game where he received a bouncing ball in a tight area and had 2 or 3 players closing him down. Most professionals would just put it up the park as he was in his own half but he did some kind of feint and burst of acceleration that just left everybody dead. He only then slid the ball to a team mate

  16. The fundamental cause of the trouble is that in the modern world the stupid are cocksure while the intelligent are full of doubt. Bertrand Russell in his essay "The triumph of stupidity" somewhat ironically talking about the recent succeses of the Nazi party in 1933. Defo some overlap nowadays. "Do your own research!"

  17. I have never seen him as I don't watch English football. But the reports are great and I know Lampard rates him. Rangers have enough midfielders to win the league imo.

  18. Ha madness more like, for him to go there. So he can pit his wits against Hamilton, Livingston and Ross county? Do me a favour. Everyone saw what he did to Liverpool last season - he needs to be playing top level.

  19. Rangers looking to get Gilmour on loan to give him more game time. Makes sense.

  21. Well.... Started playing competitive when I moved to Canada. Played for the Manitoba provincial squad when I was 16. Signed with the Ottawa Pioneers Football Club on a pre-trial when I was 17.. They were the first Ottawa side in the Canadian Proffesional soccer league. I was brilliant. .. Ma Dad sadly passed away during my trial with the club, and I gave up after that. Ended up playing with the Ottawa Royals, a club founded by Scots. Played in the Ottawa Premier League for years. That's were I got the nickname, "The Scotsman".... Fuckin lethal by the way... Brilliant I was.. 3 assault charges

  22. Is Kenny McLean sookin on your boaby? 🤔😂😂 I don't think you have had a post today that you didn't mention him...👍🤔⚽ Unfortunately, I don't think he will make squad due to his injury..

  23. Thought he played ok tonight but I wouldn't say he was a standout. I can see him getting into future squads but not at the expense of mclean. I think mclean will stay in the squad due to scoring the two pens that secured our place.

  25. You think? SPFL debut at 16 and has progressed to being a regular in serie A at 18. That’s the best ANY young Scottish player has done for a long, long, long time and you could argue that only Gilmour is more exciting at the moment. If anything people aren’t getting excited enough about Hickey, tho I’m not sure what karamoko dembele thinks of him.

  26. Sentiment should be right out the window...is Gilmour a better player than McLean? If 'aye', then sorry Kenny. I'd drop either Palmer or SOD and also Taylor and take Hickey. Considine should be left out because he isnae very good

  28. Just footballers? How about Lewis Hamilton, etc? And "media attention whores" is a bit strong. These days media is the only way to get things changed. What do you think of Boris Johnston's reaction to Rashford if he send him a letter. He would've been ignored, or patronized. It came out in the media, therefore, Johnston's hands were tied. Rashford is young, he's a millionaire, he has the best job in the world, he plays for the biggest club in the word, he plays at World Cups, etc. One thing in his young life that he hasn't been short of, is media attention.

  29. That does make sense then, as In was shocked I got banned. I have a couple friends on FB who are rangers supporters and we have good banter, never anything over the top.. I do post a lot about Celtic, but why would it bother Mr.Moffat, we are not even friends. Then again, he used to come on here, start shit, then hide behind his keyboard. What kind of a man grasses someone for a laugh and then jokes about it with his mates.. If true, which I believe it is, I hope the rat sleeps well at night and is proud of himself..

  30. This is my 23 player squad. I assume that we'll stick with 3-4-1-2. Keepers: McRorie, Marshall, Gordon Defenders: McKenna, Cooper, Tierney, Gallagher, Porteous, O'Donnell, Robertson, Hickey Midfielders: McTominay, Jack, McGregor, Gilmour, McLean Strikers/Second strikers: Dykes, Fraser, Forrest, McBurnie, Christie, Gauld, McGinn, The squad pretty much picks itself. I would include Ryan Gauld as he's had a superb start to the season. He's contributed seven goals in nine matches (3 goals, 4 assists
