  3. Baresi is in his 60s now he definitely would have been skinned 😜 Yeah I get your point. A plan B would be good too as we can’t just expect that formation and the same personnel to work each time .

  4. Both correct. Situation was results going against us even when we fuucked it up ourselves. Thing about that 1990 World Cup was we still had a chance of going through after the Brazil match as one of the best third place teams had Uruguay not beaten South Korea the next night. Needless to say Uruguay scored their winner in the 92nd minute.

  5. Qualifying for the euros is the first step towards developing the national side. It boosts confidence and i would rather be there than not. Im not sure what point you are making though because your post makes no sense at all. This isnt a choice between going to the euros and developing the team Sorry if ive missed your point but its hard to decipher what you mean because you post a lot of shite. I wont pretend to know too much about burke but it seems to me he has failed to move on from the teenager full of raw talent, strength and pace. Watching him run the ball out of play as ch

  6. Plus, with the added ingredient that Jock Stein played for them.

  7. That is true. If we had played shot against Israel with 4 at the back I'd be providing essays and dissecting it. In this match, however, we dominated it, got more shots on target, off-target, corners, the ball was in their half almost double the amount of time it was in ours. We had seven shots on target, to their two. Seven shots inside the box, to their six. SEVENTEEN! Traditionally, when Scotland get beat, we get thoroughly dominated, even if it was against unfashionable teams. You listing the teams who failed to qualify for Euro 2020 is supposed to, what, devalue our achievement? Fair

  8. No we make it work for our country. It’s not rocket science to give our best young players 30-40 games of senior football and expect an improvement in them really is it.

  9. If Scotland had played so shit continually vs Israel with 4 at the back you'd be providing essays on it for months to come. To be honest can hark back to the 90's if you want but if 24 teams qualified for the euros its almost more difficult not to qualify. A list of the teams who didn't qualify or at least qualify for the playoff: Montenegro; Luxemburg; Lithuania; Estonia; Gibraltar; Azerbaijan; Faroe Islands; Malta; Slovenia; Latvia; Albania; Moldova; Andorra; Cyprus; Kazakhstan; San Marino; Greece; Armenia and Lichtenstein. I'm chuffed we have qualified but lets not kid ourselv

  10. Let's cut the team a bit of slack. It ended up being there cup finals in less than a week.I think so much physical and mental effort was expended in the Serbia game, that it was a big ask for them to produce another big performance a few days later. We played really well in the first two games, and even in the Israel game,we created chances. You could see that they looked a bit jaded.Mental more than physical.Their thought process when getting into good positions, and the final pass was poor.I thought we would have won one of the last two games, but let's applaud the boys for what they achieved, and n

  11. I know it doesn't sound right but in a 3/5/2 formation the apparent quality of the out and out striker as a finisher is not that important. Even the amount of assists by said striker is not that important. His purpose is to ensure the ball stays in the opponents half as much as possible which will lead to a lot more chances than if the ball was in our own half. That's not just "hold up " play but every time you win the ball in the air it is pretty much the same as a tackle. And our two stronger forward can also tackle on the ground and regain possession by defending set pieces. The form

  12. No you are spot on. In any sport weaknesses will get exposed at the highest level. It is inevitable.

  13. Sadly when we get to the finals I think our lack of quality in some positions (right back and forward) will be exposed. Hope I’m proven wrong.

  14. He definitely has that innate arrogance that all top players have. Yeah. Me, too. Villa escaped relegation, so they're loaded. You'd think that they'd repeat what they did with the John McGinn saga.

  15. Reports suggesting that Celtic are going to clinch the Β£3m signing of David Turnbull this week (it's just after Sunday, midnight.) Hopefully this another case of the John McGinn scenario, where Celtic dither and a real club comes in for him. I see no reason why Villa couldn't do it again. His poise, ability to quickly see the big picture, as well as the way he strikes the ball, he reminds me of Paul Pogba (Or Gary McAllister). Reply to this post with either a confused emoji or a sad emoji if you agree with me. πŸ˜›

  16. Or person. Four consecutive posts in a row with confused emojis? Well, five, because I sense this will receive one. (Thanks for the rep) πŸ˜‰ I think there's a perpetually confused person here who can't form thought into words. lol. Bless their cotton heart!

  17. Agreed. It's a form of online bullying. There's zero accountability. If you could see which people were doing it, you would notice that it was the same group of people.
