  1. Bars are being shut all over Europe. Netherlands have asked to use German hospitals. Czech Republic has declared a fresh state of emergency. But we hear little of these things, in the British media bubble. If anything it's the UK Govt who is out of line with rest of Europe, slow to react; and even so, they may start to lock down in parts of England soon. It seems to me only unionists/politicians/media are claiming the FM is acting in order to be in the limelight, or should only do what UK Govt does.

  3. Special shout-out to Gallagher who was probably not going to play a single minute. Cooper and Gallagher were both excellent given the circumstances. Big improvement needed for the game Vs Serbia but hopefully we have a fully fit squad to pick from including Griffiths

  5. McGregor deserves more credit that he normally gets. I think a lot of folk don't actually watch what he does during a game. A lot of it is off the ball. And he covers a huge chunk of the pitch.

  13. We have to start with a more attacking line-up tonight. Surely, we have played them enough by now to know their tactics. They park the bus and pack their defence and look to hit on swift counters so we are going to get no joy playing a lone striker. Our defence is notoriously shaky so its imperative we score goals tonight. Get in their faces and play two up front with McGinn right in behind them. Go down fighting not wondering.

  14. I really cannot believe people seriously think NS is risking her job, the SNP being in power, and scottish independence, just to politically point score against Johnson. And its not just NS making these decisions on her own. What is she supposed to do, keep waiting for Johnson to finish a game of eeny meeny miney mo before taking action ? I have no idea if these restrictions will work but with 7 months to the Scottish Elections they certainly aren’t safe, vote winning decisions.

  16. 6 games unbeaten, 5 wins in the last 6, clean sheet tonight. Hes took us to the final of the play offs, 1 game away from getting to a championship for this 1st time in 22 years. Its Not good enough tho SC has to go. We are better than this. And we have a god given right to win every game we turn up to. These SPL / championship players are world class they deserve a manger with World class pedegree. I seriously think we should be trying to get Pep or Klopp, clear step up from there Diddy farmer club jobs. 🙄

  17. Lol amazing what difference 1 pen can make. We lose that on pens tonight and everyone would be calling for Clarkes head and rightfully so. We are a poor team and tonight was hard to watch. Not sure if this formation is worth sticking with. We never looked like scoring apart from McTominay's header.

  21. Lots and lots of problems with that and formation, but I'll try to focus on the positives. A clean sheet! When did we last have one in a game? And looked reasonably solid/compact at the back. Albeit against Israel, we didn't give them much of a sight on goal and in recent times with Scotland, that's an improvement as we are prone to letting folk in the back door. We won a knockout type game. All five penalties were brilliant and finished well. Whilst there's been a lot of criticism of the side of late - we are still undefeated - and this will have buoyed the team spirit. Digging in t

  22. If you think about it we are a team in transition tinkering with formations. Israel have a fixed formation and settled team so they know each others tasks etc inside out. They still played the same way when we first played them two years ago. That has to help when you have a settled team and formation. We are still striving for that. They had composure on the ball when building from the back whereas we didn't. Having said that I'd say we carved the better opportunities. Our defence looked better tonight than a month ago and considering the players we had ruled out of the match then just gettin

  24. That was tough to watch, only positive was we defended well. Cooper and gallagher did well and kept Israel from getting any clear cut opportunities. The pens were excellent especially under such pressure.

  26. It’s worked out well having another 2 games across the week. Time to work on that formation (or ditch it). It’s also, dare I say it, decent preparation for our first 3 games in around 10 days come the summer! 😆

  27. I really dont give a shit how we won that game. Its knock out football and we are one win away from our first tournament in 22 years. This will lift the players big time. Another month to get mckenna, armstrong and tierney back. A month for the likes of fraser to get more match sharpness. Mon scotland

  33. Its not a classic, they are going to be hard to break down, and we dont have the speed to test them. They have had 52% of the ball!!!!!!!!!! I am hoping Ryan Fraser has atleast a half in him and we seem him soon. McGinn has been rising into the game and I agree with a comment above that McBurnie looks a bit gassed but he is dropping deep to get involved.

  40. I think Dykes’ performances in the two games he’s played have been the best we’ve had from a striker since Kenny Miller and I suppose some of Fletcher’s games. I also wouldn’t underestimate the Australian winning mentality.

  41. With the amount of disruption caused to the squad ( particularly the right side of defence) I feel it's important that we minimise the upheaval. Therefore it surely makes sense to play the Motherwell team mates O' Donnell and Gallagher in these 2 positions--- moreso as they play in the self same positions for their club and are in tune with each other. Gallagher we should remember showed up well last season in his 2 caps whilst O' Donnell's DNA is that of a right back . Also Clarke knows his strengths/ weaknesses from their time together at Kilmarnock Yes their club ain't doing great

  43. It would be interesting to know how other countries are supporting their hospitality sectors for me. The measures going in here are obviously to reduce footfall but the compensation isn't there to make up for it. The obvious response to that is the SG have the authority to act on health but haven't the financial levers available. However, that then raises the question of if they can't pay for it should they be making the decision in the first place? Being honest £40m is going to cover the square root of nothing. It also leaves a massive open goal for WM who can either leave pubs/ re

  49. A great post TDK, thanks for taking the time with it, hopefully we can actually discuss tactics and formation - something I admit I don't know much about. Let me ask the group something that I don't know, where did the 4-3-2-1 come from, meaning why is it so fashionable now? I think we are at a stage where we need to focus on our weaknesses - and that is defense and we need to prioritize it. In 6 games we have let in 13 goals. We clearly need to do something different, Clarke is not getting steady group of players each game and I doubt ever will. I think a 3-5-2 is worth a try, as I a
