  1. Past hour
  2. They're not doing a great job of hiding it then... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news
  3. Absolutely. But it won't be front and centre on the BBC news that's for sure
  4. I remember that cock, Martin O'Neil, saying we didn't deserve to be there (because we qualified via the best second place spot) Never liked him anyway but loathed him after that, absolute throbber of a man
  5. I suppose it depends what type of "offences" they are but it already looks more serious than the Salmond allegations
  6. We were a good team but still very much short of quality attacking players and very limited in other areas as well. Going to a world cup with Donnelly, booth, Jackson and Gallacher(only decent striker)as your strikers is brutal. Dunno where you got this idea that we were tipped to qualify. I remember Martin o Neill slating our team before one of our games and saying we would be lucky to do anything. I would say the majority of football fans from other countries probably thought we had a less than 50 percent chance of qualifying. Alot of the older generation of Scotland fans were cautious due to how weak our squad was compared to the 70s and 80s. I remember my grandad always slating the standard of player we had available in 90s and described our squads as average at best.
  7. Today
  8. This is not a criticism its more of an observation. Clarke has come out and said in the press " He would be loyal to players who got us to Germany!" Was this a mistake ( with hindsight). Just in Clarkes defence though I think Craig Levein had a good freindly record and poor competitively. WE'RE the FAMOUS TARTAN ARMY AND WE'RE OFF TO GERMANY
  9. đź‘Ťon the whole, this is a reasoned and measured postđź‘Ť how did it feel?
  10. Ross Stewart back in training apparently. Even if he gets some games before the end of the season, I think it'll be too late for him, or any striker out there, to be selected aheas of Dykes, Adams and Shankland. CalMac return also "imminent". Just waiting for good news about Hickey.
  11. DUP leader Jeffrey Donaldson resigns after being charged of historical sex offences. Bet you won't find the MSM and Unionists whipping themselves into a frenzy over this one
  12. There wasn't folk saying I am a troll as you mention more than once, think there was one person. Don't get your little panties in a twist now. If you have to resort to calling someone a troll when debating a topic then you are just incapable of holding a conversation clearly. Well i've given my reasons to think you can't be serious when talking about some of the games you brought up, not gonna bother repeating myself. There is a difference between trying out different systems and tactics and having to actually change the team due to injuries/suspensions, not sure if you are getting that point? We have always been a bit shakey in defence for years now even when we have managed to keep clean sheets, let's not kid ourselves on here as we've had our fair share of luck.. Steve Clarke is partly at fault with not using certain players or calling them upto the squad, even leaving some with the under 21's which to me was baffling. Anyway I've made several points in previous posts so you can read them if you want all of my opinions. End of the day, my opinion doesn't have to matter to anyone else but I do like to get it out there for others to discuss at least, otherwise what is the point in a fan forum
  13. I am seriously using the last two games of the campaign as examples. Part of the reason folk think that you’re a troll is because you start posts with things like “are you for real?” and "you can’t be serious about…”. You are also prone to hyperbole, literally no one thinks everything is "rosie", so people's heads can all stay exactly where they are. Another reason folk think you’re a troll is because you jump around and constantly move the goalposts. I was seriously using the last two games of the campaign to make a point out about the argument that Clarke doesn’t have a plan B because he hasn’t tried different style of play from the start of games. That’s a direct quote from you by the way “actually trying out a different style of playing before the match starts would help”. We lined up differently in the last two games of the campaign, compared to how we started the other matches, and lined up differently again on Friday in Amsterdam. To suggest that Clarke doesn’t to try out different styles of play is clearly false. We looked a bit shonky in defence in those last two games of the campaign because, as you rightly point out, we’ve got about 11 or 12 really good players, but if a couple of those players are injured or underperforming it really shows. It’s got nothing to do with Clarke not trying out different styles of play. Similarly, we lost the game in Amsterdam because we failed to take any of the multiple chances that we created (while playing a different style of play than usual) and then switched off at the back in the final quarter. Lack of depth to the squad also came in to play as The Netherlands improved their attacking threat from the bench, whereas our bench weakened us overall. TL/DR: our underperforming in recent matches has far more to do with lack of depth to the squad and very little to do with Steve Clarke not having a Plan B, which he clearly does – along with a Plan C and D.
  14. You're welcome brother. We have come to a point where another big change is probably required, i'm not so sure about taking out one of Tierney or Robo as they give us an extra dimension to the team that work well down our left side but on the right we seem to be struggling a bit so could do something there. Even when Hickey is playing, we don't seem to create a lot down that flank. You could stick Ferguson in instead of Shankland and play without a recognised striker, Ferguson and McT and McGinn can all rotate and we can use our wing backs to bomb forward up the sides to give play off also
  15. Hi we have 3 Hungary fans first tickets spare that we are looking to swap for Switzerland tickets if anyone is in a similar position.
  16. After watching that you tube analysis of Ferguson the whole way through ( can't find who posted it but thanks for doing it), I now think we should build around Ferguson, even it means - leaving out Tierney or Robertson. He is the ideal no. 10 and should bring out the best in Shankland. How about: Gunn: Hickey, Hanley, McKenna, Robertson/Tierney; Gilmour, McGregor; McTom, Ferguson, McGinn: Shankland.
  17. I can see both points of view but despite his miss against the Netherlands (which was very close) I want our chances falling to Shankland. I don't really trust Dykes and Adams in front of goal but I think, on current form, Dykes is 3rd choice at best.
