Grim Jim
Still pissed that I lost the box for this when I fell asleep on a plane with the cassette-single in my Walkman. Yeah, on this one I think...

Why am I always elsewhere and can't get up there nor can I find anyone who knows of him.

I know the rhythmic part is very similar to the 2nd half of Folklore by Opeth, but I'm sure it's older. What does it come from? I've always thought I'd heard it on an old TV program or something. Maybe just Opeth haunting me again. I'd normally post the live Moshcam version, but the bit I'm talking about (5 mins in) is further to the front in the studio version here... I can hear it 5:06 mins in. Surprised I enjoyed that so much but haven't a clue where it comes from. My only guess it's been inspired by Hemingway's Death in the Afternoon based on the lyrics. Did a quick search to see if it had been used elsewhere and the only offering of note albeit no connection whatsover was this little gem from the early 60s. Some of the older posters might remember it having a short run on TV not long after they formed.

Marky
Suspect this was a single version and not quite the same as the 12 inch I used to own, but nevertheless a lovely wee song.
