Indictments served on Craig Thomas Whyte, Gary Martyn Withey, David Henry Grier, David John Whitehouse, Paul John Clark, Charles Alexander Green and Sheik Imran Ahmad also known as Imran Ahmad

The Crown can confirm that an indictment has today been served on Craig Thomas Whyte, Gary Martyn Withey, David Henry Grier, David John Whitehouse, Paul John Clark, Charles Alexander Green and Sheik Imran Ahmad also known as Imran Ahmad.

The indictment libels charges of fraud, conspiracy to defraud, attempt to pervert the course of justice and statutory offences under the Companies Act 2006 and the Criminal Justice and Licencing (Scotland) Act 2010.

The case is scheduled to be heard at the High Court in Glasgow on 16 October 2015 in respect of a preliminary hearing.

Further information

We would urge everyone who plans on publishing information on this case, including journalists and social media users, to bear in mind that the case remains live for the purposes of Contempt of Court and nothing should be published that might prejudice the case.

Charles Green is taking Rangers to court to get them to pay his legal fees since the charges relate to his time in charge there.

How the feck does that work when he's charged with ripping the club off illegally!

Surely he'll get told to do one.

What Flora said. The company may well have offered an indemnity for any directors for events occurring while working for them. If they had any sense, they'd back it up with a D&O insurance policy, although whether any insurer would offer cover to a newly formed, loss making entity is doubtful.

I suspect Charles green is the person who, on behalf of rangers, requested this clause be included in the contract between rangers and Charles green. On that basis, I very much doubt he will get up on it.

The allegation that the clause extends to cover criminal claims, including to defraud the company, could be interpreted as an admission.
