McKenna MOTM

He also played well in the last match. One of the positives from these two outings.

Mulgrew all over the place as usual. Get Tierney in for mulgrew and that's a decent back line.

McKenna has looked much more assured than Mulgrew tonight. He's certainly worked his way into serious contention for a starting place in the Nations League over these friendly matches. He'll be a regular for us over the next decade if these couple of performances are anything to go by.

All which proves the potential worth of friendlies. If you can discover a new first team player every 2-3 games then that's pretty good.

Maybe helps decisions for replacing or discounting others in the future.

Also new caps and experience for guys with only a handful of caps. All good.

Was going to say similar about him being our main centre half for years to come but didn't want to risk such a comment about an Aberdeen player. He's got more potential ghan any dons player has had for years imo, unfortunately I don't see Aberdeen hanging on to him for long. For the first time in a long time Scotland have some great potential at CB

Unbelievably there were idiots on here criticising McKenna on Friday night.

Tierney, Hendry, McKenna, Souttar and Berra. All good options for that back 3.

Watched it behind time just finished now.

Mcginn has to play, need that bit of desire in every match. Armstrong and McGregor did well in there too.

Impressed with Hendry and McKenna

Quiet night for Robertson but he's always going to play. If we are going 3 at the back then Tierney will be in there.

Forrest proved again what a waste of a jersey he is.

Phillips played ok, still wouldn't choose him, just don't rate him or trust his consistency.

Think Fraser is wasted as a wing back rather than further up field.

And that penalty was shockingly poor

Was a decent performance, we defo need to play Armstrong imo as the guy drives us forward. McKenna has shown over the two games that he could be good enough at this level. Put in Tierney and Griffith's into that team and I would be happy enough.

I think both McGinn and Armstrong should start every game. McGregor with them in midfield looks pretty good too.

Have to agree on McKenna tonight, he was much better. Hendry did fine as well but I'm not sure about us going with a back three all the time.

It kind of looks like we might have swapped one problem for another with some centre back options now as opposed to a dearth of striking options. Big Philips did fine but it would seem obvious big Eck doesn't think much of McBurnie or Cummings.

Maybe he just wanted to experiment.  Phillips has played up the middle before and he'd seen what McBurnie could do in the first game
