I'd go 3-5-1-1

Alan McGregor (Hull City)

Russell Martin (Rangers)  CH
Scott McKenna (Aberdeen) CH
Charlie Mulgrew (Blackburn Rovers) Sweeper

Callum Paterson (Cardiff City) RWB
Andy Robertson (Liverpool).  I would like Barry Douglas to get some game time. LWB

John McGinn (Hibernian) MID
Calum McGregor (Celtic) MID
Scott McTominay (Manchester United) MID

Stuart Armstrong (Celtic) Number 10

Oliver McBurnie (Barnsley)  CF

Like the look of this team and formation but....

                             McLaughlan

                  Martin McKenna  Mulgrew

                    McDonald/McGinn  McTominay

Paterson                                                      Robertson

                 Armstrong        Cairney

                            McBurnie

I like the idea of 2 ball winning mid players who can pass and are strong. Allowing our front 5 to attack

Hanley has had his chance and he's keech.

Armstrong has barely played and wasn't performing before his injury.

Forrest just doesn't seem to do it for Scotland. Whether it's him or the way the team play, he isn't worth another cap unless the problem has been fixed.

Also don't want Martin playing as he's another that's had his time. Mulgrew has to play as captain but I'd prefer a youngster beside him.

Other than that I'd agree with you. 😉

All about opinions.

I think it will be a tough match and we need to start with a strong team. I think Hungary will be a better game for the new caps.

I think it will largely be an experimental side that starts tomorrow, with quite a few getting their first caps:

Archer

Paterson - Hendry - Mulgrew - Robertson

McTominay - McDonald

Murphy - Cairney - Fraser

McBurnie

I'd love to see a team like that, although maybe Archer or McLaughlin to play the two 45s and McGregor plays in Hungary?

Got a feeling Douglas will start ahead of Robertson tomorrow.

During the week Eck was talking up Robertson as captain material, and today named Mulgrew as his captain for tomorrow (suspect Robertson will start, and also be captain, in Budapest).

Think all 3 keepers will see action over the next two games, but other way around, McGregor to start tomorrow and Archer and McLaughlin to get a half each in Budapest.

Considering his and Fulham s form

Would agree Cairney should be getting no 10

Can't see McLeish starting his first game without our best player on the pitch

Newsflash! Martin was withdrawn, replaced by Hendry. Otherwise decent team and formation. Would swap Cairney for McGregor though.

That's not a bad line up.

But Paterson at right back makes me nervous, and if he's struggling who's going to replace him?

Armstrong before McGregor makes no sense.

I also think Ritchie will start before Forrest.

I would also be tempted to start Cummings in the middle, and McBurnie on the left.

Agree, but like I said, I would not be shocked if Douglas does start tonight.

I suspect he will play two very different teams over the two games this coming week, as he has made it clear that these games are a chance for the "lesser" players from Strachans team and those who have been on the fringes, to show what they can do when given a chance.

I'd expect the most uninspiring team he could possibly pick, so i go for something like this:

McGregor

Paterson
Hanley
Mulgrew
Robertson

McGinn
McDonald

Forrest
Ritchie
Murphy

Phillips
