Who decides on Scotland Kit?

Often wondered this. Who comes up with the design of Scotland strips? Is it the sponsor, designer, coaches, SFA. Do the current players have any say?. Do the supporters have a say? Over the years there have been some quality strips, there have also been some not so quality. Cheers.

Totally agree with that. It makes proper sense. You want feedback from the folk who will be spending their hard earned money on them.👍

Invited in??? It should have been me :-(

They - all of them - always seem to do something to ruin a kit...

White sleeves for example!

Then there was the Diadora one with the THREE legged Saltire!!!

What on Earth was that about.

As for the pink one...

I still suspect that was an SFA in-joke at the expense of the fans.

It wasn't even bespoke FFS.

Still, such decisions have saved me a small fortune.

Sales figures prove I wasn’t the only one, I didn’t think they could’ve improved on the pink, yellow and white, then bang, they take out a stunner.

Sales figures just prove our fans nowadays are eejits. :D

What? Had It not been bright pink, it would have been boring as f*ck.

It was one of most bog-standard, off-the-peg kits in the Adidas range, which any pub team could have bought for £13

Websites like Clubline sell these kits for such prices, but stick a professional or national team badge on it and they charge £50.

By way of design, no thought went into it for Scotland.

As for the colour, I'm convinced it was an in-joke at the SFA.

Are you sure the 3 legged saltire wasn't actually a diadora logo instead?

It wasn't a Diadora logo. It simply wasn't.

A Diadora logo has curves in it.

Have a Saltire or don't have a Saltire, but you don't do what they f*cking did.

The actually away strip to compliment that home strip initially was a three-legged saltire (white top with the light blue saltire - the ‘Faddy top’) until it was leaked on here. All hell broke loose and when they officially released the strip it had the full saltire.

Anyone else mind of that?!?

The question is WHY on Earth did Diadora/SFA do that?

There is simply no logic to it.

Why did Adidas/SFA put white sleeves on the last kit?

It defies logic.

It doesn't make it interesting; it makes it flawed; ruined, shyte.

Sometimes you see a kit and you think, that's class; some thought went into that...

Then you see some which look like they were designed in a fag break.

By way of a football shirt, I could design something of pure class which would be the greatest seller we've ever had; why do manufacturers not strive for that?

Do they not strive for it simply because, 'The fans will by any shyte, so let's not spend too much time on it'.

There was a precedent for the white sleeves in the 50s i believe

An inside joke that brought in record sales figures and plenty of bunce

They don't often strive to design something f*cking awesome; the fans could do better.

Re. the pink kit: forget the colour for a moment and think about the design...

There was next no no time spent on it.

Doesnt matter. It sold in record numbers so people liked it enough to buy. All you had to do was take a look around the Scotland end in Malta and you could see the positivity there was surrounding it

I can understand why some guys may have been uncomfortable with the whole idea..... Real men wear pink 💞💕💖

Sunderland had a pink kit recently. That was quite good. Better than ours.

I was not happy with ours being pink, but the design - or lack of - with ours, is my main problem with it.

It may have sold well, but was it a great  design of a football shirt? I don't think so. it was bog standard.

I could do better than Adidas... I could design the best selling kit Scotland has ever had.

At times, these kit manufacturers lack imagination.

Argentina 78 was our best kit and we should always stick as closely to that as possible. 👍

As far as away kits go, the white one with the blue saltire on the front of Faddy in Paris will forever be my favourite. Of course the white kit would inevitably clash sometimes so as a third I would always go with yellow top and blue shorts a la Mexico 86 and France 98 😁
