saintsparky
I don't think this team ever recovered from getting knocked out of the World Cup after being 3-0 up against Argentina.. Competively, it has been all downhill since then.

Completely agree too - it took until 3-2 for anyone to bollock anyone else but by the time Kim Little actually did it we'd conceded the peno anyway as think VAR pulled it back from memory. From there the fallout seemed ridiculous to be honest and even if Kerr was absolutely wankered telling them they should never have lost a 3 goal lead then it doesn't mask what an omni-shambles the subsequent euro qualifying was particularly as the tournament was in England. It really pisses me off when they moan about the game not growing - they were the ones who blew the opportunity due to the world cup hangover and need to look inward. Instead a lot of that squad are still on the go and give the impression they believe they're a championship level side whereas by the end of this campaign would be surprised it doesn't become blindingly obvious at least a decade will likely pass since 2019 world cup before we qualify for something again. The next manager has a bit of a Berti Vogts situation on their hands although hopefully there's a conveyor belt of youth to tap into. Hertsscot
Got three of our starting eleven out with ACL injuries. These type of injuries seem to be worryingly common in the woman's game for some reason. Typical though that we end up with injuries to players from Real Madrid, AC Milan and Man City!

Actually heard a feature on ACL injuries on the radio this week.... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cjljenw9ggyo
