biffer
The VISTA telescope in Chile was a significant part of the observation. The build of this telescope was led from Edinburgh, including some of the instrumentation. The ALMA radio telescope was also involved, substantial amounts of the software for ALMA are written in Edinburgh. And of course LIGO depends on tech developed at the University of Glasgow. All you are going to do is wake him up and tempt him in to derail another interesting thread. It's kinda like the comments on the BBC site. The 3rd commenter in tries to use this amazing discovery to have a pop at Trump. WTF is all that about?

To be fair he has never forced them on anyone and they have discussed Dinosaurs on the couch before to the great amusement of every wag on twitter Think his retort was along the lines of "Dont be stupid - of course i believe in dinosaurs" He never expanded into them being here 4000 years ago though
